@@davemitch729 Thanks, Dave! . This is one of the times i wish i still was in the UK. Moved to Sweden 15 years ago. Already made contact with some of the Nordic Garrison, and now looking at kit. Got feelers out, and waiting for a response from a well known builder, but given the time of year, it might be a week or two, but i have made a start. I will join 😎
@@doctorthee I like them all, I even watch the 1978 Christmas special. I dress as Kylo Ren for some events and the kids love him. I love rogue one and Solo, I am excited for the Mandalorian every Friday, and a week from today, I will be dressed as Kylo Ren as I greet people going to see The Rise of Skywalker. The new films are not perfect, but honestly neither are the old ones. I see a lot of hate on the new films, but really they are just an escape from normal life. If you see the kids in the video above, if gives them a chance to escape their rough lives, and watch people battle with lightsabers. One of my greatest memories came from the Force Awakens, watching my daughter get to see R2D2 on the big screen for the first time, her smile was priceless. I feel people over analyze the new movies, and give a pass to the old ones sometimes, but if you're a fan of just one of the movies, or even one of the characters, to me that makes you a star wars fan, and to that I would say May the Force be with You.

R2 Builder here, just got to say its a privilege to be able to troop with these guys. Love doing events with the UKG and RL. The reactions that you get from the public, kids young and old, is just amazing.
My Godson who has chronic end-stage kidney disease met the 501st at Great Ormond Street Hospital and met Lord Vader which "made his life" (his words, not mine)
Well done to all involved with this, I remember seeing the very first Star Wars film and thinking how different it was at the time, to see the costumes being made & the generations of folk who luv the individual characters & bring them to life for helping others, is so very cool. Keep up the great work y'all do & May The Force Be With You .
I remember going to the movies with my mom to see the very first one back in 1977. I was 6 years old. And getting all the action figures as toys . Now I’m 46 and seems soo long time ago.
One of the most fulfilling things Ive done in my life was becoming a member of the 501st legion as a Sandtrooper. Bringing a smile to the face of a child whom is facing such sickness and suffering, is an experience one cannot describe. May The Force Be With You...Always ❤ TD-21669
A big compliment to our UK friends for this great portrait that conveys the essence of our mission. Spreading joy and fun, and especially to those children who are hard hit by fate, is one of the most beautiful and fulfilling things you can do. SL50655 - Swiss Garrison.
i 1st watched Star Wars at the cinema in Liverpool in 1977 since then ive lost count how many times ive watched all the films and spin off,s like all Star Wars fans i collect toys etc. Unfortunately i only own a toy stormtrooper helmet because i could never afford a real costume but maybe some day! Keep up the good work.
I will never forget the moment when I got the email that I was approved. That was the entry into a wonderfully cool world. I've never had a reason to regret my decision
Around minute 25 they blurred the Star Wars text from their t-shirts but they didn't blur the text on the posters... and blurring Star Wars in a Star Wars related documentary makes no sense.
What I would have done for a storm trooper kit when I was a kid. . . . Not so much now I. 45+ As it's all for charity, helping children and people suffering, who are unwell and so on, I'm all for it.
Come on Disney ....find a scene you can throw theses serious diehard fans in your next star wars. It would make a nice little side conversation of what a beautiful story you would have created in real life.
I was born in 1973. And still, I went to see Star wars. I snuck in through the back of 103st movie theater on Roosevelt, Queens. Went to see it so many times that I had to pay to see it many times after. Saw all of them and still watch it and hope and pray for really really good future ones. Lucas!! 👼Where you at? I believe these people do exist. Or almost like them. How can an imagination be so perfect. How an idea from a thought came to light in such a detailed way that it could probably exist. Just like proven theory's. Never know.🤔👽
I mean.. "Cheap" costume would probably be an Imperial Bridge crew, but you're still looking at at around $400 after it's all said and done. And that's without any of the extra props.
on my way in the Danish Garrison 501, just got the TK armour set from RWA, and doing the detail work now, supporter, yes, but wanna be one of the guys :-)
I was honestly quite shocked when I found out the stormtrooper is more popular to do then Vader. I would do vader if I joined. I was expecting him to be way more populair. Why is that?
@CMDR Poopypants Ah I figured they would have similar price points, makes sense that DV is less popular if its more expensive. Is there anything in particular that makes him more expensive?
Vader is by far the most expensive but it also has other things to consider. The person needs to be a certain height. Also the suit is heavy, hot, and uncomfortable……it takes a commitment.
There was too much representation of the Storm troopers and Darth Vader and not enough of the other central characters in my opinion . As a girl it was primarily Princess Lea that made it worth watching .
Not trying to sound rude but the reason for that is the 501st is for imperial outfits, but trust me theres plenty of women amongst the ranks in stormtrooper gear or other costumes, I dont think the leias was associated with 501st I'm pretty sure they are part of the sister company the rebel legion, but theres always room for women amongst the 501st just have a look for costumes on the data bank.
Not to mention the stormtrooper armor with the level of iconicity is usually the go to option in 501st which is why it makes up the majority of its members.
Start off with thinking about your idol, then buying its stuff, then acting it out, then turning it into a religious belief. So sad. What really happens after we die?

let people be happy and make a difference, if even for a moment. what have you done to bring a smile to people's faces during the dark times? instead of seeing your fellow man smile and spread kindness and joy, you stand there to destroy such acts of decency and good. be a good person.
Never died you say? It died for me the day Disney was allowed to buy it. All that history... Never happened. All the books and comics.... wasted your time they mean nothing. But at least they gave us logic killing new concepts that would have ended every war buy the first guy to enter light speed. Let's not forget we also get SJW tripe rammed down our throats in doses designed to choke us to death after the very first bite. I was 6 when A New hope Came Out and it changed my world. 32 years later Disney gave us a the middle finger and signed on with the likes of EA. Thanks so much.
I agree that Disney has mishandled and abused star wars, but I feel that as long as we allow people to like what they want to, and continue to hold on to what makes starwars exciting to us personally, we can still love and see our favorite parts of this grand universe and story thrive and grow, and maybe even spread some joy to others.
