Most companies (that sell builder gel) instructions state to use gel base coat on the natural nail first. Each system will vary, so definitely follow the instructions of the brand you are using. For myself, builder gel will pop off of my nails if I don’t use gel base coat first. The gel base helps with the adhesion.
This week 🥺 (I think today) She will have very very very few left during the release. Their manufacturer has to make new bottles and it’s taking longer for that to happen, so she said it’ll be about a month before she gets a bigger stock of them. She is releasing a new rubber base next week that can be used to attach the gelly tips, but it’s not as thick as the cactus gelly.
Are there jelly half cover tips?? Or are all gel tips for cover?? I wish they were just call , “gel nails”, “gel full cover nails”! Lol. Too confusing lol 🤦♀️

They’re actually considered Soft Gel Tips. But the term Gelly Tips was coined by one of the many brands who brought this system to the market. I can see why calling them Gel Nails would be confusing. Perhaps Gel Tips or the “soft gel tips” would be better.

Are you putting a base of builders gel on your natural nails before this process?
Yes, I did this:
- prime time (bonder)
- gel base (cure for 60s)
- thin layer of builder gel (cure for 60s)
@@CaroleAnnette thanks so much for the info!
why is both a layer of base gel then builder gel needed?
