Big agree on Tristan, him and Bane were honestly the scariest bosses in A2 for me, Tristan because he's probably the first fight that sort of actively encourages a "stay aggressive and fight him" mentality rather than a slow and steady burn him down with chaos volley mindset since he can just close so quickly, and Bane because I still cannot for the life of me figure out how the add phase works, 80% of the time I just need to fight for my life to survive double assassin/double mage until the phase times out and 20% of the time I kill one crossbow and he ends the phase and pops out.
I oneshotted pretty much everything else in A2 even though I was scared of Maja, think I was scared of her because she gave me the most trouble when I was first learning the game but she seems pretty straightforward, I couldn't even figure out what the brutal mechanic was honestly, maybe the books that are constantly flying in a circle throughout the room? idk but that boss felt like a break from Brutal like I was just doing Maja normally
Yeah Maja I think is just the books? I also think when she absorbs a minion she does a little burst now? Or is that in normals? Legit don't know because I usually kill her too quickly.
Some big brain strats to wolf form while Tristan is spin to win to dodge him easier. Love it
Hahaha I got it from Octavian since you can wolf through the walls when he does his old trick. Pro strats

I'm wondering if the somewhat odd lack of PvP here is because people are getting their asses absolutely handed to them by Brutal difficulty. The logic there might be something like "I'm already struggling with the bosses, I don't need/want to be struggling with bosses AND PvP at the same time." And honestly I can see it, especially if the server is mostly people unfamiliar with Brutal.
Or maybe people are just being weird, lol. Hard to tell!
Could be. I try to go out of my way to get more of it though in later episodes. These were just weird though

That floating castle is reality warping. That would be traumatic to stumble upon in nature, let alone to try and raid.
For tristan, and a lot of enemies with similar move sets (Octavian and Solarus) you can side step their overhead attacks. Such as his stab and red flame sword. Just keep strafing him and it wont hit you. Blue sword is the only one you gotta worry about when you're up close to him.
Takes a bit of time to get used to it, but being able to avoid 2/3rds of his melee kit without having to burn a defensive skill is super nice

I am fully enjoying your series as I'm trying to improve my progression speed through the game. I played on a private server with every thing made EZ mode.
Now want to go through normal on default settings
Hahaha yes definitely. Solo fast progression on this game to me is like juggling 10 things while riding a unicycle with the potential of someone randomly throwing rocks at you. Then I have to give a dissertation while I do it lol so it gets a little rough around the edges

Dude, maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree here, but I'm gonna ask. I've just gotten into this game, and I'm doing the whole play slow PVE solo and make a nice castle on normal. It's fun. It's a neat experience. I feel like this game is two in one, because what you're doing is totally different. I think I'd like to do both.
The ask: do you mind going over combat *philosophy* for PVP.? It's probably obvious to you, but I'd like to see what the weapons and spell schools do on a pvp/brutal server. It's a different environment, and I'd like to see you talk about and go over your mindset because I'd like to get into it at some point.
I'll see what I can do. I think a beginner PvP guide would be helpful to a lot of people, even just explaining the basic mechanics of spells/weapons and how they work/don't work in a PvP setting.
@@terribletimmy2those are helpful. It's one thing to say "X does X and Y does Y," but synergizing stuff for people with context is huge. "X+Y=Z, and here's why you want Z" is what really makes your knowledge in a topic shine.
I see you put yourself in situations that I just don't think I would have experienced on my own in Solo PVE. I also see you go into situations I never would have, and I'm fairly meta on gaming.
The server i joined has gotten like that. At first it was pvp everywhere. But now that im in T2.5, its pretty rare to see it.
I even saw someone just AFK outside of maja when i went to take it, i should have killed him for principle of it, but what would be the point in pvp an afk guy.
Yeah some people just kill everyone they see, but for me it doesn't really make sense, especially if there's no chance they have something that matters to you haha. Some people will hunt people in bone at end game just because they like to win I guess? I moreso fight with progression in mind most of the time
i hate pvp but i dont join pvp servers. if i did i would expect to pvp, thats what the server is intended for.

Oddly enough ive met more friendly people on pvp servers than i have in the pve server's. Had one cuss me out before he wanted the vblood i was fighting saying i was leeching but i had been there a while fighting before he joined in at 20% hp, telling me to go away. Like wym
Yeah you will have some whiners in PvP, and there are some people who enjoy killing low levels all the time, but overall I enjoy the experience more.
When I was playing on Beta, I tried a PvE server, and people would come to my incursions and just leech shards for free, try and steal legendary drops, jewel drops, and even had people try to leech SHARDS from shard bosses. Insane concept.
The non fighting on a pvp server is really a wierd thing.
Am playing on a brutal pvp server aswell currently and gotta admit I do the pacifist gameplay and so do most people I run into xD
The progression is just so hard that I tend to tunnelvision on that (+ I don't wanna be "mean", which sounds silly af + I suck at pvp)
Something is absolutely off when people feel bad jumping other people on a pvp server.
My guess would be that people who do a run first time since 1.0 and who weren't heavy veterans before are just focussed on the pve bit in that.

Yeah honestly, I feel bad a lot too. I just assume the person I'm meeting doesn't know what's happening so I feel bad starting things. Trying to break myself of it though lol. I enjoy defending myself usually

So it's moreso up to your own wants, but I generally fight people if they have something I want (like I see them coming out of iron mine and I need iron), if they fought me earlier, or seem like they know what they're doing haha.
I'm just being nice tbh, especially since so many of these people seemed extremely new/inexperienced so I just asked beforehand. There were a bunch of high level players ganking lower levels like crazy, and I felt bad going full bloodthirsty on them with all the other people being weird.
(There were lvl 85s duo ganking solo lvl 50s consistently throughout this run)
14:40 actually! its not 800%, its even worse, its 1200%. it gets even crazier if you use phantom aegis with that one jewel that makes it increase spell power, ive seen it do like a quarter of winged horror's health
I believe they removed the splash damage affecting the direct hit target, which is why it was buffed to 200% per shot

In fairness WRT the lack of fighting, at least in my case, I don't really like to PVP in this type of game but always end up being dragged into such servers because my friends refuse to play in a PvE server.

but uh I think this run is a lot of people's first brutal run so they're probably just trying to figure out the game. I'm guilty of focusing more on progression than fights since it's also my first time trying brutal
Yeah I have a bad habit of just playing it by what the other player kind of wants to do. Boring I guess but it's weird to just like walk through areas and just kill people who are doing nothing? Idk
@@terribletimmy2 I had a similar problem on my server but then tons of people were fighting over greater rifts though. Bat form letting you carry stuff makes it a kind of weird dynamic sometimes, haven't tested if it lets you carry golems but its gonna be gross if so
@@helena9089yeah it seems like a horrible idea overall. If you can batform with shards, why is the waygate blocked with them?
@@terribletimmy2 No I got solarus shard recently on my server and was not able to batform while carrying it, so you cannot bat with soul shards
You can however waygate while holding soul shards LOL at least I was able to waygate from castle 2 in Silverlight to castle 1 in dunley
Also was able to farm stygian shard things and bat away with them

Pvp is like this on every server (except the more comp ones like private ones) people either running from pvp or not engaging în pvp at all... Which is sad, it takes the fun out of it...
