    Definitely looking forward to that video on transwoman periods, theres so little information on it and such an aggressive air of denial around its existence, when I've literally experienced the symptoms other transwomen have described

    • @ELIAHAVAH
      @ELIAHAVAH หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Missmisery42 I think the problem is that "period", in most people's minds, immediately conjures the image of the actual bodily excretion associated with it; and so claiming trans women have periods, when we do not exhibit that particular *manifestation* of periods, causes people to rankle. I think it would be best to possibly use more indirect, but precise terminology - “hormonal cycles”, for example, without treading on words like “period” or “menstrual”, that maybe some people feel should be reserved for the full function.
      I personally have never experienced that naturally; but I do induce it artificially, by modulating my estrogen dosage, 2/3 prescription rate for 2 weeks, then 4/3 prescription rate for 2 weeks; I synch it with the Hebrew lunar calendar, to keep it tied to the actual phase of the moon. (I find that doing the 2/3 for the first half of the month works better for me, because I'm a super early morning person; and the moon is only visible in the mornings during the second half of the lunar month, so having that be the 4/3 half, when I can actually *see* the moon in the sky, makes me feel happy, lol. Call me an autistic weirdo.)

    I lost a lot of weight from 2020 to 2021 (around 25 Kg) and then from 2021 to 2022 started my fitness journey of actually working out and building muscle, so when my egg cracked sometime in 2023 and then before actually starting HRT (almost 3 months now YAY :3) losing muscle was actually one of the few concerns I had with starting HRT, but I wanna reassure anyone else in any similar situation, YOU CAN STILL WORK OUT GIRLIES! Your muscles won't vanish overnight, and as long as you keep exercising them to the best of your ability, you'll be able to maintain a lot of your progress, don't let that be a cause of anxiety for any of you okay? 💜

    ITS NOT ABOUT WEIGHT FINALLY I LOVE YOU

  • @RiverOfTheHeart
    @RiverOfTheHeart 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    I've lost motivation for exercise sooo many times, for way too long periods of time, we're talking months or half a year at a time, then doing consistent exercise every few days, usually twice a week, until I get disinterested or just forget or the habit is broken by unexpected events or change of plans. My eating habits being relatively healthy and making sure I at least get good enough sleep helped me stay slim but I'm still totally out of shape internally, I get out of breath easily. I love biking, that's always fun, but for a while I biked a little too much and pushed myself too hard on uphills and it made my thigh muscles really sore.
    Started transition over a month ago. Hopefully that should motivate me, I already loved that dancing along to that 80's tape video you did! I like to move my body, I just don't get up or out when I don't need to unless I do something like tell myself a whole day beforehand I'm going to do it and I allocate extra time for it and make sure i have time to shower. Like if I have classes my silly little brain is likely not gonna let me spend time on exercising in-between or afterward. Not to mention I make sure I don't do it too close to when I last had breakfast, lunch or dinner. Weird autistic or relaxed human thing probably idk. Knowing to listen to my cravings (within reason!!) when they happen is nice haha. Maybe I shouid ask someone else how they deal with it.

    I didnt do a lot for my body the last few years. I just didnt care how i look. That changed the moment i accepted myself as trans.
    I am still pre hrt and hope to start it next month or in january. I already take much better care of myself. My goal is to lose some weight before hrt starts to get to moderate weight by eating healthier and doing more excersise. I already lost 14 pounds. I am close to my goal. Maybe 3-4 pounds more.
    My body suddenly is important again. I also take much better care of my body hygiene. The future seems much brighter when you have goals in life again. My mental improved a lot by just accepting myself. It will be interessting to see what hrt has in store to improve it even more 😊

    some comments on sleep: everyone sleeps in cycles and it can be helpful to wake up towards the end of one of those cycles to avoid feeling groggy. the duration of these cycles varies from person to person, which is why, as stated in the video, there's no universal amount of time everyone needs to sleep. on average, these cycles are 90 minutes long, and generally 5 of these cycles is a thought to be a good target for a good night's sleep. I only mention this because the framework (not the specific numbers) can be useful to keep in mind when trying to identify what sleep schedule works best for you. knowing the length of your sleep cycles and how many you personally need to feel well rested can help explain why one schedule works for you while another doesn't.
    Also, some people are morning people and others are night owls. both are perfectly valid and one is not "healthier" or "more productive" than the other or whatever productivity influencers will try to convince you of. you should sleep on a schedule that works for you and makes you feel happier/more energized as much as your school/work/social obligations may allow.

    5:30 The testosterone advantage is not universal. In distance swimming, the people who have estrogen as their dominant hormone tend to perform better than the testosterone people. More importantly, the proximate cause of the advantage that cis men have over cis women is not testosterone, its height and lean body mass.

    I never had much upper body development on Testosterone, and I suspect it didn't do much for me over all. But I'm cautious about potential further strength loss, since I'm not sure whether T actually did nothing for me, or whether T was the only thing giving an ounce of strength to my noodle-arms. I haven't _noticed_ any loss of strength yet when wielding my rapier in fencing, but from what I've read a lack of T enhances the "use it or lose it" effect with muscles.
    I _did_ notice surprising hunger and cravings late at night about a month ago. I'm keeping track of all my feelings and reactions in a journal to see if this is a part of any sort of pattern...

  • @aspidoscelis
    @aspidoscelis หลายเดือนก่อน

    Re. hunger - I found estrogen made me really hungry for the first few months. Now I seem to be back to normal.
    I haven't noticed any kind of monthly cycle-and to me it doesn't make sense that I would. I'm on oral estrogen (and progesterone), I'm taking the same amount every day, there shouldn't be any monthly hormonal cycle. Injections do create a hormonal cycle-which is not something I know much of anything about since, again, I'm on oral estrogen-but you'd _think_ that, yeah, hormonal cycles have effects on cis women, hormonal cycles should have effects on trans women.
