At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I think Suleiman knew Mahidevran was behind it all along, but when he saw Sumbul dragging Gulsah away from Ibrahim's rooms/office, that was the final nail in the coffin, so to speak. No one else in Topkapi hated Hurrem that much, aside from her. In reality, that would have been the end of her, but dramatic license kept her around for another three seasons. LOL

Hurrem told Gulnihal she would have done the same as Mahidevran (And proved it far too many times ) so she is just as bad.
but the thing is hurrem can admit she is just as bad and yet she's still the only one who got sepertaed from her child, mahi was not until mustafa's death. its not the same. hurrem can admit her fault and wont call herself a victim, but mahi constantly calls herself one

I think it's sad Mahidevran acts the way she is... she took the spot of someone before her, before Suleyman became sultan... he actually had children with the one before Mahidevran, but they all died young. This is the true history, not just this show.
If this were the other way around, hurrem would have been excited, child taken after being born and given to mahideveran to raise. It really passes me off that she gets away with it every time. (It wouldn't be a good drama any other way tho lol)
I like this show its fine. But from the start sulieman knew ibrahim was folling the valide and mahdevran orders better than the sultan. The vrry same sultan that gave him his position. Why didn't suleiman deal with all of them in one fair swoop. Maybe even get rid of majdevran since after this "incident" she gets much worse.
I think mahidevran is right. Hurrem also tried to kill princess isabella and firuze and her best friend gulnihal. She sent Victoria to hatice . Because she was afraid that she would loss her love. Mahidevran also was afraid . I know mahidevran did not love the sultan as much hurrem did . But what would you do if you were in mahidevran 's place? Hurrem killed mustafa's first child before mahidevran killed mehmet . The difference between hurrem and mahidevran is mahidevran's fault was exposed but hurrem's fault did not exposed.
did you watch the show with your eyes closed?? mehmet was killed FIRST, and mahidevran literally tried to take both his and his mother’s life when he was just in the womb. whatever hurrem did to mahidevran, mahidevran did it first, it was well deserved 🤷♀️
