At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palaceâĶ On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

It's because Mahidevran can't get pregnant. Last time she had a miscarriage and took all her rage on Hurrem.

She had all the support from valide, hatice, Ibrahim because of mustafa but she was too obsessed with getting rid of Hureem and her children that she lost track of everything. She's delusional.
@@jennylaw6820 She put too much pressure on Mustafa, in hopes he becomes the Crown Prince and future Sultan. Hurrem never put that much pressure on her boys, only helped them achieve that.
@@sabihaatturkhan5751 I agreed with you. She's obsessed and insecure. She wouldn't let go and accept that she's no longer the favorite of Suleyman. But she was made like that partly because of all the support that around her and she's not smart. Hureem knew that if she'd Suleyman by her side she'd won. Anyway for Hureem saw the overall picture. Mahidrevan didn't.
We're looking at this through the lens of TV drama. The truth was likely much more grim. Only one prince makes it to the throne, all other surviving princes are victims of fracticide. The pressure to be the 'one' with the surviving prince must have a panic inducing burden that they could not escape.
Mahidevran sleeps and wakes up with hurrem sultan in her mind
Because she couldn't accept the fact that that she's no longer Suleyman's favorite after bearing him a son.

no, she didnt! just because Mahidevran was a moron, doesnt mean that Mustafa was a bad product. He turned out well; better than all of Suleyman's children. Hurrem's own children were more respectful towards him as compared to how they were each other.
