Hi friends! This is a tutorial on how you can alter your old teacups and turn them into beautiful pin cushions. This process is much more easier than it looks, and you can get very creative with your designs. I also have a tutorial on how to embellish the stick pins and have linked my tutorial for that below. I think you are saying the Altered tea cup wrong but maybe you are making it your own style with its own name but if not check on the word Altered. You are not saying it right. In the English language its pronounced ALL.TERED
Your tea cups are beautiful, thank you for the tip of the bottom fabric. It does make a big difference to the lace. Love the pattern of the cup and saucer.

I have a lot of tea cups so I want to give it a try, maybe I can make one for my Mother in-law. I like the idea of placing the pink piece at the bottom it really does stand out. Hi Dolly! Oh my word! I’m so thrilled you did a tutorial!!! I actually bought teacups a few years ago to do this and never did. You are right that a lot of the others were more over the top. This has just moved back up on my crafty wish list and I truly adore you’re more simplified approach. I hope you are well! Been away from crafting and TH-cam for too long! We’re still doing projects at new house and trying to get done but will probably be a few more weeks since work has been extra busy too and I volunteered to help with vacation Bible school this week. Even though I have little room in my crafting area, I find it hard to let go of projects that friends will send to me so I hold onto them for a while😊. I'm a fan of your work. I have a question on your alterted teacup pincushion you made with a nautical theme. Underneath the cup, it looks like you have a piece of material, maybe with some irradescent netting over it then something on the edge of the material. It looks really nice. Would you mind sharing with me what you did under the cup?
tina acord Hello Tina and thank you so much for your support. What I used underneath the cup was a piece of the same fabric that I used over the cushion in the cup. The netting that you see over that fabric is actually the lace piece that is glued along the edges of the base bottom of the cup just like I did the other cup. I hope this makes sense sweetie, and let me know if it doesn’t and I will try to go into detail a bit more😊.

Great minds think alike! I also made one of these recently. I found the cup and saucer at a garage sale and it turned out so cute. I love yours too! Mine looks different but also very alike as all my components are the same even the lace. I had been using a free video editor on my phone for a while, well when we changed phones it’s not compatible and I have not found another one I like that’s free. If you know of a good one please let me know, the ones I have found will not let you edit. So anyways... lol I have not made videos lately or I would show mine also. However I got my laptop fixed and I am going to try videoing on that I am just unsure how to show your stuff that people can see it? Anyway your cups are gorgeous and I am sure your recipients will love them! I also have been looking at garage sales for another pretty cup and saucer because I want to glue them together and make a bird feeder out of it for my garden. Hugs, Kathy
