Glad it worked out for her. In general never buy a dress too small for the sake of weight goals. If you manage to lose the weight, a dress can always be made smaller never bigger!
My ex-friend bought a wedding dress two sizes smaller than she is to motivate her to lose weight and I was the only rational person around that was like "maybe you shouldn't?" And she got mad and did it anyways but she keeps postponing her wedding because she can't fit in the dress.
I always buy clothes a size smaller than what I am - if it’s something you would really love to wear it definitely motivates you to work at fitting into it.
Even now on my weight loss journey will I only buy something that fits. In 3 months I usually wouldn't lose more than 20 pounds and that can be easily altered if needed. I have a ton of "too small motivational clothing" that never fit. I only dare to buy things that are a little thight bc for example jeans are expensive so Idon't wanna buy the next pair in 2 months but that's all

Are you kidding? She would have never done it without that extra motivation. Family is loving but HONEST. If her family had just been like "yeah alright we support you" she would have lost that wonderful anticipation of showing them up. It's like...if they completely believe and support you, failure would not feel like admitting defeat. When you have that antagonist, you have a fight in you. Source: lost 50 pounds after several attempts to diet mainly because my dad openly said he didn't think I could do it.
Usually healthy goals are about 1-3 lbs per week for overweight persons, so in 8 weeks, that'd be an expectation of 8-24 lbs with an average goal of 16lbs. Always support healthy decisions. Now, those numbers really depend on a person's body and chemistry. Some people, the weight just melts off, especially if they're heavier than their body wants to be anyway. Other people, they would need to be on a "water diet" or an extreme fasting diet to get that weight off in that amount of time. I really don't know if she did it in a completely healthy way or not, so, yes, support, but also, I don't know enough to say if it was or wasn't a healthy choice for her and her body in the amount of time she gave it.
I don't see any difference to her appearance aside from the fact she is thinner now with the loss of weight. You're acting like she transformed into another person or something... 🙄 No offense meant of course.
Wonder what happened that caused her to leave her family behind and not have a traditional wedding. All of a sudden they were all Uninvited where before they were all going to the wedding? Maybe they laughed once too often at her goals and dreams?
ValiantsFelines McCarty they might have wanted the wedding at the beach which would mean everyone would have to travel and get hotels and plus they only had 3 months to plan the wedding so this was prob just easier. That’s a short amount of time for everyone coming to the wedding to take off work, find hotels, make sure they can afford the hotel and travel expenses and everything else.
You guys are probably right I thought she lived near the beach from the way she was talking and her family didn't seem upset about her going to the beach. So I thought they would be there. I have had a few family members who they were going to have a wedding at the beach as we live near the beach and they just decided they couldn't put up with the Family Feud's you know parents divorce and they just went and got married alone. Luckily one of them she was a sweetheart she had her dad whom the mother had refused to allow her to see for 21 years she got ahold of her dad and had him come down and be at that wedding. I thought that was wonderful when you can't get the family to be nice to each other sometimes it's just a horrible thing.
I don't know her reason but I wouldn't invite my mother nor half my family lol Wait no I invited two people out of my family 😬. It's about the groom and the bride I don't care who you are if you're going to make my day shity I don't want you there
Yeah, the 2nd one was much nicer. And it was also the dress she wanted, except they basically told her no because they assumed she won't lose the weight anyway. What a bunch of assholes, honestly.
i actually think it was more flattering before she lost the weight. like, it completely hid her stomach and everything and flattered her curves. it looks a little awkward on her when she’s smaller.
She's said the same thing about losing weight before yet had failed to succeed. They also know her a lot better than we do and probably have their own reasons as to why they are not so quick to support her with this specific goal. also 30 lbs in 3 months with someone as determined as her could sound dangerous to her family members so they're also probably concerned that in order to lose those pounds she'd attempt dangerous methods.
I don’t get when brides wear these amazing fancy dresses, and the groom shows up in an unbuttoned shirt. Seriously?! She looks ready to get married, but he looks like he’s going to go shoot pool with his crew.
• Sam • so that means that she’s marrying trash? It’s one thing to say someone underdressed and it’s another so a person is trash, but maybe that’s just me 🤷♀️

The second dress looked great on her before she lost weight. She was a determined woman and looked fabulous on her wedding day in the dress of her choice minus the weight.
I agree. I'm a plus size and I would love to be just where she started. But hey, she's a total queen for owning her goal and even overshooting. Her man is a king for supporting her. She has defo got the right guy. 😁😁
I was so pleasantly surprised and impressed by the bride’s entourage who liked every dress she put on and were all so warm and kind...a group of women you would want to know and have in your life for support and loving friendships.
Girl get it! I feel like this woman deserves a standing ovation. She looked AMAZING. She was beautiful no matter what, but damn she did what she put her mind to.
The comments were negative but I’ve definitely heard worse. It’s low class, though. Especially when you consider the occasion. A wedding dress appointment just isn’t the time and place to criticize your friend or family member’s weight and eating habits. Honestly, if I went to a friend or relative’s bridal gown appointment and SHE ASKED my opinion, I would tell her it’s best to select her current size with the assurance it can be altered to fit if/when her size decreases. *The dress size is less important than an attractive, comfortable fit.* Plan B (if budget permits) purchase two gowns. 1 to fit current size/measurements, and another to fit the “weight loss goal” size/measurements. Wear the best fitting gown for the wedding. Return, donate or sell the other gown. Problem solved without having to snidely put down someone’s weight, size, eating habits, and weight loss potential. It’s really not hard to treat your dear ones respectfully.
A Masion I don't get how people think they are helping by just criticizing their loved one's weight, especially if they flat out mock them for it. IMHO people either should offer some good advice and support like working out together, or just STFU. It's not like losing weight is easy, after all most of the critics themselves could stand to lose some...
The time (wedding and all the stress related to it) is too critical to encourage someone on a journey she never took. It might sound negative but those who know you will judge based on the pattern they saw you repeating. That's why when you decide to change, don't tell your loved ones and seek support in dedicated groups (they usually don't even know where you are on this planet lol) .
I totally love that she DID lose all that weight, but I am so glad they also convinced her to get one that already fit before she lost the weight. Losing weight before a wedding can be amazing and uplifting, but it can also be soul crushing and stressful. No matter what, what matters is that she love herself, especially on her big day, as she's sharing her love with her future husband. :) Beautiful~!

EthanETN probably more likely a healthier diet with smaller portions, as some studies suggest exercise only make up 30% of weight loss
*I lost 40 pounds in 3 months with a healthy diet and exercising 5/7*
Congratulations! 🎉😊
Wow, good job I could never have that much commitment. ☆Congratulations to you!☆
Good job!
Good job you go!
This woman is such a strong personality, it's inspiring.
“I won’t use as much butter “ damn girl that worked!!
AYA Barakat - It concerns me how much butter that means she was using...
It was sarcastic/ a joke
Kai Vickers i mean she was working out too but ok🤣🤣
Meanwhile i lost most of my weight eating butter and going keto.
And I took 10 months to lose 40pounds due to pregnancy but gained back 20pounds for 2mths of lockdown. Damn. 😅
Don't know why I am here but holy crap! She killed it! Wish them all the happiness. :)
haha that’s how say yes to the dress works! you never know how you found your way here but sooner or later you’ll be back

DUDE. I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS ALL THE TIME. WHAT R U DOING HERE (2ys ago)? AMAZING!!!
Glad it worked out for her. In general never buy a dress too small for the sake of weight goals. If you manage to lose the weight, a dress can always be made smaller never bigger!
Good advice. And sometimes the extra pressure makes it even harder to lose weight.🌷
@@stopcomparingeverythingtob6378 same here agreed
Even now on my weight loss journey will I only buy something that fits. In 3 months I usually wouldn't lose more than 20 pounds and that can be easily altered if needed. I have a ton of "too small motivational clothing" that never fit. I only dare to buy things that are a little thight bc for example jeans are expensive so Idon't wanna buy the next pair in 2 months but that's all
I don’t like how the people around her were doubting her. The fact that she lost 40 pounds just makes me so motivated 😊💕💕
Because it's a unrealistic goal
@@strangeanimations588 so still have faith in her just because its unrealistic doesn't mean its impossible
@@misskimmy223 they were trying to help. It was more likely she would not lose the weight and then shed be in tears on her wedding day because she had no dress
They weren’t being mean, they were being realistic. We have all heard wedding horror stories of dresses not fitting because it was too small.
They should have at least have faith in her then i dont think you understand how much not having faith in someone can hurt
@@misskimmy223 It was a pretty big and unsafe goal. If someone came to me and said they'd lost 40 pounds in a few months I'd be concerned.I would not be surprised if after the wedding it crept back on
@@MsJubjubbird Yeah you’re right it can be very unsafe to your body like that. Everyone’s body is different, some people can easily lose/gain weight but others can’t unless they’re using dangerous methods. I have a hard time maintaining my weight because I lose weight really fast unintentionally and it’s hard to gain the weight back to be at a healthy level.
@@MegaSizeBunny health weight loss is about 1-2 pounds a week. The maths doesn't work out here given the timeframe
Fair but I don't think laughing at her was appropriate
WTF THAT WEIGHT LOSS WAS CRAZY OMG GOOD FOR HER!
I don’t understand why they keep laughing at her when ever she says that she wants to lose weight
Ariel The Little Mermaid they should respect her goals and support her smh
Because they her family. And they know how much she loves to eat and cook. They weren't laughing at *her* they were laughing at her time frame. But damn if she didnt show them up by loosing 10 extra pounds! U go girl!
Prob bc she’s talked about losing weight before and hasn’t stuck with it before.
Jerica Wilson I see where u r coming from
I dont like how unsupportive her friends were about her weight loss goal
well 30lbs in one month is not usually a realistic goal.
@@angelabacker1177 it was one month it was 3
you are right
Chisom Asike two months. The dress needs time to be altered
Says casually: instead of losing 30 pounds I lost 40
Me: whaaaaaaaa????
They didn’t even get to ask her the question😂 she just said “yes to the dress” 😂😂
“I know that’s gonna be a problem for you because I know u like to eat” I- why u gotta attack me like that
you got this! just patience and water before meals. 💜

I mean she wasn’t wrong tho, the bride did confirm that
Her saying “yes to the dress” instead of just yes was everything
She suddenly looked younger like damn girl you walked in a time machine or something? Gorgeous

She was beautiful before she lost weight. She's just as beautiful now! She has such lovely eyes and a beautiful smile and I love her natural hair.
When she said she lost 40 pounds, I cried. She did it and she looked amazing!

lol i cant see much of a diff
I don't see any difference to her appearance aside from the fact she is thinner now with the loss of weight. You're acting like she transformed into another person or something... 🙄 No offense meant of course.
She and her sisters are both so insanely beautiful, and her determination is beyond admirable!

I think it was a money thing as opposed to shunning her family intentionally.
If my only daughter didn't invite me to her wedding
It would break my heart
I don't know her reason but I wouldn't invite my mother nor half my family lol
Wait no I invited two people out of my family 😬. It's about the groom and the bride I don't care who you are if you're going to make my day shity I don't want you there
She’s soo pretty but am I the only one who thought that dress did not flatter her shape at all ?!??!?
I don't think any of them did, but it's great that she looked beautiful on the day even so
Nope
Yeah, the 2nd one was much nicer. And it was also the dress she wanted, except they basically told her no because they assumed she won't lose the weight anyway. What a bunch of assholes, honestly.
i actually think it was more flattering before she lost the weight. like, it completely hid her stomach and everything and flattered her curves. it looks a little awkward on her when she’s smaller.
carson preston i agree she had more curves to fill it out. still beautiful tho

You can do this yes!!😃👍
You know instead of laughing at her you should be motivating her.

30 pounds in two months? I’d laugh too. And yes, it’s two months because the dress will need to altered
It’s her job to motivate herself not her friends or family.
I don’t get when brides wear these amazing fancy dresses, and the groom shows up in an unbuttoned shirt. Seriously?! She looks ready to get married, but he looks like he’s going to go shoot pool with his crew.
Beck Styles that’s doesn’t make him trash. What’s wrong with you?
Kimberly Walker alright but he’s not even wearing a suit like...

Just love how William took a huge breath when he saw her. She literally took his breath away!
The second dress looked great on her before she lost weight. She was a determined woman and looked fabulous on her wedding day in the dress of her choice minus the weight.
Even when she did have the weight on she looked gorgeous.
I agree. I'm a plus size and I would love to be just where she started. But hey, she's a total queen for owning her goal and even overshooting. Her man is a king for supporting her. She has defo got the right guy. 😁😁
I was so pleasantly surprised and impressed by the bride’s entourage who liked every dress she put on and were all so warm and kind...a group of women you would want to know and have in your life for support and loving friendships.
i was shook when she said she lost fourty pounds i was like yesss girll

"I think this will be a challenge for you because you always like to eat" 😳
I think everyone likes to eat.🙄
Still she was not verbally as harsh as other mothers. My mom calls names and stupid things to my sister who is a little bit overweight
*The dress size is less important than an attractive, comfortable fit.*
Plan B (if budget permits) purchase two gowns.
Not to be mean but the aunt “Doris” kinda looked like Sid from Ice Age.

Sage Webbyster I know but I’m saying for all of them.
