My 97 fiat 126 stops running when I drive it for a while get it nice and warm going a little trip turn it off Wait 10 minutes start driving it again It will run for about 2 minutes 3 minutes and then cut out then I have to wait for about 15 minutes or so then it'll start right back up again please point me in the right direction
I had the same exact issue. It turned out to be defective ignition coil. There are two variants used in 126p: one looks like a silver can - this one is quite reliable as it is filled with oil for cooling. The other type looks like a black transformer - this one is prone to failures. What happens is due to heat it shorts internally and stops working. If this is not the issue I would look into the engine overheating - make sure that the thermostat flap is opening when the engine is fully warmed up. The flap is on the right side of the black shrouding - look above the oil dipstick and you will see the flap that should open and close as the engine warms up and cools down. Hope this helps!
