The show is perfection. It captures the 80s perfectly, the cast is fantastic, the soundtrack (as the season goes on) is perfect and the stress put on friendship and doing the right thing, even when difficult, makes it a great show. It starts in 1983, then 1984, 1985, as the seasons go on.
Nice reaction. I'll subscribe. Stranger Things will take you places you didn't know you wanted to go. The scary stuff comes and goes, but the amazing (and often very sweet) characters and constant surprises and great writing make it worthwhile.
I can say to you that I REALLY hate scary stuff too, but I do RELLY love Stranger Things, I thought I would hated when I watched back then, but I LOVE IT so much, you gonna like too, trust me ❤

In the 70s and 80s, most parents weren’t helicopter parents. Especially those who were single parents living in safe suburbs. We would leave in the morning and come home very late. There wasn’t a lot to worry about back then.

I was born in 1985 and by 1988 my parents were divorced and my mom raised me and my brother while working and going to college. It was a different time. We walked to school. Watched R-Rated movies. Raised hell. It was awesome.
Yes, prepare yourselves for an homage to the 80's horror movies. This series is set in the 80s, and in that time, kids stayed out late and parents weren't as over-protective as they are now. If you are too scared from just this first episode, then you'll never get through this season, let alone through to season 4. Don't be too hasty to criticize Hopper, there's a reason he acts the way he does.

I am looking forward to you and your sister's reactions to this very popular Netflix series. If I could make one suggestion: please drop the reddish hue coloring on many of the scenes. It kind of makes it hard to watch the episode along with you, and will be very hard to watch upcoming scenes and seasons that are primarily done in a reddish/orangish hue. I hope you two do all the seasons of this great show, and it would be wonderful if you would consider reacting to the #1 World-wide Top-rated Netflix show, Wednesday Season 1, especially with season 2 scheduled to be released in a few months(?).
