When Eleven turned the gameboard over in the last episode she was trying to convey that Will is in an alternate universe, "the upside down" which looks like where you're at but is in the alternate universe and that is why it looked like Barb was in the pool but it was dark and the pool was empty. OMG, yes she was raised in a lab, so that would be different. Lastly, No, Papa is not her real dad.

Yes. This show has minor jump scares. But there is no "horror" element in the 1st 3 seasons. Just jump scares. I absolutely love your reactions to this show.

Yes it can be scary and gross at times but once you get used to it you love the characters so much you don't get as scared anymore
