halo34jess117 good job, thanks for this info and I agree that the Lions are sadness defined (and as a fan of the Chicago Bears I hope it stays that way) I honestly just asked for research because I’ve met my fair share of idiots but you know your stuff.
As a Bengal's fan I respect the Brown's fanbase, and I have no malice for you guys except when we play each other(I kinda always saw us as teammates on the team of suckiness for years, see the 90's/early 2000 Bengals/Browns) Each of our teams have some of the most dedicated fan bases, only team I can think of more dedicated than either of ours is the Raiders and those people are crazy as shit and need to be put in the looney bin. For teams like ours who have perennially sucked and as fans you were able to still watch and root for them that takes commitment, and I respect mine and your fan base for it.
Now i've been a Bengals fan my whole life, but the Browns have a much more dedicated fanbase than ours, when the Bengals were awful they couldn't give away tickets. Anything south of Columbus is much more concerned with college ball as a whole. Cleveland doesn't really have any college presence so they only have their pro sports team to cheer for.
Lions fans are loyal as hell. Put up with 0-16. Put up with being the punching bag for the NFC north. Put up with being wildcard round exits after finally having a good team and still getting wooped by the packers. We are loyal as hell with no superbowl appearance to show for it. Browns fan, I feel your pain. Am glad my dad lived long enough to finally see his New Orleans Saints win the big game. We had many decades of heartache. Most famous of which was the brown paper bag years. We even had a great quarterback who threw the ball precisely, only to see it bounce off the chest or through the fingers of a horrible receiver (probably from the illegal drugs to numb the embarrassment). So I salute you Browns fan for you are like the Saints fans who stuck through many years
I am a Steeler Fan who grew up in Coshocton County, Ohio. All of my family is from Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. I grew up in the 80's, when the current balance of power was reversed. I think it's great for football when the Steelers and Browns are competitive with each other. Yes, we have 6 Lombardis, but yinz'll turn things around and find some success one of these years. Remember, it took the Steelers over 40 years to start winning from their beginning. Keep the faith, Mike. I'll be happy for you when you start winning (especially if it means you start knocking off that team from Maryland consistently).
