This video shows a construction crew working on pouring a concrete wall for a foundation. They are setting up the formwork, drilling holes, mixing epoxy, and using a skid steer to move materials around the site. The crew discusses various challenges they are facing, such as bending rebar into the right shapes, dealing with obstructions, and ensuring the formwork is properly braced. They also discuss the reasons why they are doing the formwork themselves instead of hiring it out. Overall, the video provides a detailed look at the step-by-step process of constructing a concrete foundation.

Hey guys. The link isn't working.
Hey guys link doesn’t work.
@@FMorison Don't buy that crap.. Check out unpaid reviews of how bad it actually is...
Next time you guys do rebar work, you really really really need to send the drawings to a detailer. They will do a full take off and then cut, bend, and even assemble some stuff together for you so that its just place in the correct location and go. Those square ties will come bent and all you do is tie them where they need to go. It costs something, but you will 10000% save more in time than it costs to have that done.
The bent rebar is called a "tie". "Stirrups" are open one end and "ties" provide a closed loop. To save a bunch of time, you can order the ties from suppliers all bent into shape. It doesn't even cost that much more. Although it was worth entertainment value.
Jamie, you're so much fun! I absolutely love your sense of humor (and your puns!!). And you have the cutest smile! (I'm nearly 80 years old.....you could be my grandson!!) But more than all of that, I learn so much from you. And don't let them keep you from talking! Your creativity is off the charts. I love how you explain all the things you're doing and why and thanks for drawing all the little things you draw on the odd piece of wood to help explain them. You and your crew do exceptional, I say, EXCEPTIONAL work. Your homes are beautiful.......and it's great that you are a perfectionist where it really counts. If you were in my neck of the woods, I'd hire you to build a home for me! But, alas, I'm in Washington State. Thanks for your videos, too. Eric, you do a GREAT job with those!
I second that... If you come to Australia we would hire you all..
Pro tip bending rebar or any metals.
Is it Inside or outside dimension.
If inside- deduct nothing.
If it’s outside deduct the thickness of the material x2 per 90 bend.
So if you need a 1/2” 12x12 stirrup with a 6” over lap both side your rebar should be 55” and your bending at 1/2 short on the inside of the bend.
Yes, they are stirrups, and typically would be ordered through a rebar supplier ( whitecap, HD Supply, etc...) usually they can have them within 1-3 days depending on order size, how busy, etc... Much more cost effective and accurate than trying to make them yourself.
Call them "ties" to be more precise. Technically stirrups are open one end but people use the terms interchangeably.
Start buying your Rebar fabricated. You'll thank yourself. Save money too.
In South Africa you can order and get within 3-days, all your steel cut up, bent and sized as you wish. BTW, I'm also in the construction business, the difference is that all our houses, apartments and buildings are brick and concrete folks 😊
The helmet cam is making me woozy.. 😂
My nephew used to Wakeboard professionally. I would go with him sometimes when he was teaching clinics. At days end he would ride for a hour doing his tricks. He made it look so easy and after the hour was up he would let go of the rope, we would pick him up and we would call it a day. I could ride one foot no matter how much I watched him. Lol
Eric, your brother Jaime is so darn smart. You like to bust on your little brother, but I know that you know you need him and are very happy to have him as your partner. This series is pretty awesome so far: keep up the great work and try to keep Jason out of whistling out the other side.
I love seeing Jamie in his element!!! All his knowledge getting tested and he's crushing it!!
There's a lot of thinking/planning that goes into this work, and I agree with you Jamie is crushing it. The two brothers make a great team with all their planning.
Me and the wife absolutely love the fact that you do beginning to end jobs in fact we thoroughly enjoy it keep up the good work and keep sending the TH-cam vids out 👍😁😎
The skid loader POV with commentary was great!
Skid steer view is great. Next time try a chest cam instead of head mounted. The swinging around is too much!
Ray n Jay the "Rebar Kings" celebrating the small victories! That there is how you stay up on even the hardest days.
8:37 Ray deciding on taking a break rather than picking up the compressor has me dead AF 😂😂😂
I’m a 70 year old woman in Indiana. I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your vlogs. The crews banter makes my day. I also putter in dyi projects, so your expertise is sometimes helpful to my small scale activities. I watch Jasons’ channel too. Now that guy is a mess lol. Thanks for sharing your world with us. I look forward to you every week. Be safe and God bless❣️
dont forget your BANDING TOOL to repackage the forms/pallets for transport back to the supplier
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪. I've been watching you guys for years. Love your programs. Teach me a lot. You have such lovely work colleagues. ❤️🇸🇪🇺🇸👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻😎
Well I WAS in the middle to rewiring my garage and putting up insulation. Guess I’ll take a break and watch this. 😅
I have to say that I am really enjoying my Perkins Builder Belt, they also ship from very close to me in Ohio, and show up next day, so that's cool!
Hey Gents: just sharing a Pro Tip for you or others. Mark you caulk gun arm w/ a perm marker! The pressure rod when its fully in the out position (new tube of caulk/silicone). then mark it again when fully empty. Then you can divide that space by whatever you want to divide the product for. Here, after you fill one drilled hole, just mark the rod base again. Its "travel distance" will tell you how much product you used and how many you will be able to do with that tube. From there you can always estimate the number of holes filled, etc. Best of luck....yall couldn't even pay me enough to come and help you!! Better yall that us...but its looking great!!
There must be a very good reason to do these poured concrete walls vs. concrete block or precast concrete. Could you do a segment of a video explaining the reasoning and benefits behind the process you’re using here?
Hello from the city of Belgorod! I have been watching your videos for a long time and they help me to escape from everyday problems. I am learning interesting things about construction and would like to work with your team. Best wishes for peace and good health to everyone!
👍
I got the Vevor weather station for Father’s Day, working great, high quality. Really happy. Happy Fathers Day guys.
Another great video. Thank you for ‘building the TH-cam channel’. This type of concrete construction is ominous here in Europe. Which we would focus on sustainable wood building as well. Keep it up and looking forward to the completed project.
Appreciate the videos guys. I have been in school for construction management for the last two years, I have my own experience as well but seeing you guys put everything together is amazing. You truly help bring my technical knowledge to life, this is invaluable and hope for you to continue to document any new processes you come across.
Jamie driving the lift was awesome, lol.
I can't wait to see these walls get poured and the forms come off
Happy Father Day to you guys and all across the 🌎
Rewatching the farmhouse series again, while i wait for the new episodes. I was thinking i would love to see a sort of bio on the guys. What they did before joining with you. work experiences etc. I think it would be a cool "tweener" ep lol
Quick tip…you can normally pull out the mixer from the epoxy nozzle with some long tip pliers or tweezers. That way you can reuse the nozzle after you use it for blowing out the holes (keep your mind out of the gutter Jason)
Those forms are gnarly, but you're doing alright given all the challenges. Makes me realize how crazy streamlined building here in NL is, we get specialist crews for every part of the work, with equipment and tools up the wazoo banging out jobs like it's going out of style. "Doing it all" is still the best way, very entertaining to see how you all handle it.
Great to see you broadening your skills! Pouring the basement walls was one of the few things in the construction of my log home that I wasn’t hands on.
Really enjoying this series so far, great to see a bigger build too 🎉
This is Going to be a great series of building! I'm excited for y'all 👍💯
Had that exact thing happen with epoxy hardening not 2 weeks back. Was helping a friend with a covered porch. He was epoxing bolts to hold the post base down. Well he got a call as well and it was hard as a rock, just as quickly after the very first hole . I tried cutting the tip back just a bit to hopefully get some use out it. But it was rock hard . So had to hand mixed it as well. I was going to use a putty knife as well. But found a cheap plastic sheetrock knife. That was sacrificed to get it done.
Always something new to learn. And almost always a work around if you get into trouble.
Luckily not as mission critical.
thanks for the content Erik and crew!
Thank you for my Monday morning wake up 🎉 who needs to read all the doom and gloom when you can wake to a laugh and find some interesting bit of info to start your day/week 😅 thanks guys, your friendship is awesome and your willingness to share is fantastic ❤
Love you guys. Make me laugh. Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
Guys, I ABSOLUTELY love these videos!!!!
I’ve watched EVERY one that you have made.
The best videos on TH-cam!!!!
Happy Sunday y’all
If I was in the US I would join the team free of charge!!! What a happy team. Enjoying your vids from South Africa.
Great job - as usual. Love watching you guys work.
Looking forward to the next one. I imagine y'all will be close to filling the forms on it. Great job as always! 9k more subscribers let's GOOOOOOO!
You guys have already taught me some much about building
Getting so close to 1m subscribers. One of my favourite channels and this is a great build to share. stay safe J.
we do that all the time here in ph. In order to create stirrups we make bar benders on the table using rebars as well.
I love the move you were doing when the apprentice was hammering the wedges in. We always called that " katunkatunka". Just like nailing in between a narrow joist bay. Edit: Also, you are so close to 1 million subscribers, congratulations. Been subbed since 50k. You are one of my favorite channels.
Happy father's day!
We always drop a surveyors pin in all our corners before all the rebar and supplies get in the way. Don't over tight the pins too it will screw up the straightening of the wall and can also cause the ties to zipper. That's bad bad bad. Oh ya, spray the panels lying on the ground. Then, put them up. Oil on the rebar is bad.
Tie the hoops temporarily in the wall. Feed the straight bars through them and into the holes.
Your turn buckles need to be at 45 degrees, brother. Otherwise the wall will move alot
Many years ago when I was training to be a building surveyor l had to use a dumpy level with a heavy wooden staff and to make life a little harder so when looking through the level what you saw was lines at 10mm apart but you read from the bottom to the top of the staff as the level turned everything upside down and what you read a metric foot ! Now you can see why stopped using imperial and went metric in 1971 . And yet you can still go into a building supplier and buy 3m timber which is 4x2 inches. Mad or what! Still enjoying your videos keep up the good work. Rich W (Building surveyor retired) Ely UK.
Love the outro clip of Jaime on the skid steer!
Another great vid from the guys fantastic 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Enjoy the show... Check the amount of walers... Possibly use more. We've seen wall pours fail. :)
Enjoyed the first person video game at the end with the skidsteer
Love u guys 😂😂😂 make lough a lot!! And the techniques are awesome! Good job 👏
Educational and entertaining. Cannot wait until the next episode.
I am one happy Jaime junkie.
#letjaimedrive
You guys are so cute. A bunch of big boys playing in the dirt and building stuff. Cool 😎
Here in Sweden some brands have extra mixing tips to buy for the epoxy, great if you don't use the full tube at once. Just remove the old tip and put a fresh on the next time you need the epoxy..
Watching your vids from Germany! Love the effort you giving into it! When i need a construction Company here you Are my First Choice! Would be fun for all of us
thank for this video, and next video, I am wait always
I never get bored nor tired watching your videos thank u for everything's
This is great. Learned something new
Happy 😊 Father’s Day to you all, love all your videos and yes I think it would be a lot cheaper then building your own form walls even tho I have not worked with this type of system. Keep up with the great work Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏼
I’m not even a builder and I live in a country were earthquakes and rain won’t let you build as the Perkins do… but still here I am anxiously waiting for every new video 😅 Pura Vida 🇨🇷
We love your video... waiting each day for the next one.
I’m loving this longer videos!! ❤
Watching this from 16th floor of a glass building in central London, I want to drill something :(
edit: beardless you looks 15 years younger, I'd keep it clean if I were you!
happy sunday guys!
Great father's day with a PBB video.Happy Father's Day to you all.
Build a stirrup bending jig i built it out of an I beam and with 5/8 rebar welded and staggered about 2 inches apart put it on a horse and u got a steel bender
Happy Father's Day to All
Thanks (I’m not a dad)
@@dirtydan6098 But..do you have one?
@@disklamerBro, he wouldn't be alive if he didn't
Thanks (I’m 18 years old)
@@Orikix Bruh can you spot a joke
Number 1, good thing you you dried it out. About the drill getting wet, It's okay to spray WD40 on the mechanical side just don't let it get to the electricals because it might cause a short. For the electricals, it would be best to use contact cleaner spray and blow dry the whole thing again. It may work at the time you needed it but it may not turn on next time. It's best to clean the circuit board and other electricals with a contact cleaner with an old soft toothbrush. Lastly, make sure the whole thing is completely dry before turning it on.
i love this new projact
great work
the pov at the end was so cool!
Great Video 👍👍Loving the build 👍👍😊
Great content as always
Love the videos guys little tip on bending metal and it stretch out subtract 20% of the diameter that I’ll give you the proper stretch out
New channel idea: Jamie Perkins operating machinery to the best of his ability. I love it.
There is a vlog called The Moons and they have a charity called Legacy of Legends. The Moon family cares for elderly former olympic and other champion horses that they have rescued from meat packing factories and other similar bad living conditions. Nick Moon needs one of your terrific tool belts because he leaves his tools on the various projects he is working on and his little boys play with them so he can’t find them. He needs to be organized and I think it would be an amazing gesture if you donated one of your tool belts to their charity.
Top episode as per usual!
That looks to be a nice easy to use form system y'all have there! Well, at least they were "back in the day" anyways! Happy Father's Day to the dad's among you! -Bob...
Can't go wrong over engineering. I like it.
Soon 1 million subscribers gratulations 🎉🎉🎉
Love your work 👍
I really enjoyed guys! You’ll be through this phase of construction and off to the building races before you know it! 😅💪🇺🇸
Those Bosch SDS drills are OP. Totally indestructible and if they do start to break down, highly serviceable too.
Yes but therefor you will need only the blue ones (professional) and not the green ones!
Thank you for my Monday morning wake up
Happy Father's Day, forms looking great, people are going to be asking for the Perkins to do concrete form work now.
Now , I understand how you're going to retain the "v" cut out in the hill! 👍💯
"....Extremely Flammable."
🤣
“I really can’t see, if I’m going to run over anything here important here, but I’m just going to, sort of just hope for the best”.
Words to live by!!
24:40
I remember you said something about pouring a concrete floor. How about using hollowcore floor panels. Prestressed mad just about any length and alot thinner then 1'.
I can think of so many puns using the word bar right now on Father’s Day
Thanks for sharing another fascinating video. I wonder if using ICF blocks would have been easier than the forms?
Happy Fathers Day Perkins crew!
I'm addicted to the videos. If I don't see one a day. I feel like I'm missing something
Where’s all the uphill water going when it meets foundation? Waiting to see how you backfill area between house and road.
How to get up on a wakeboard: Put your elbows on the OUTSIDE of your knees as you "sit" in the water. Staying up, however, is up to you.
Went years trying to wakeboard. Went with a different friend and gave me this tip and I was up immediately first try.
Came here to say this. And keep your butt to your heels till your board has gotten to plane on the water.
Once you stand up once, you will forever be able to do it. easier than riding a bicycle.
Jamie's new Chevy is sweet!
