Love your positivity and you are 100% right there are amazing dedicated people working on finding a cure for this horrible disease. They will find it and hopefully soon there is a major breakthrough.
Cindy told me about your channel so you got another subscriber :) You are an admirable human being Russell, from way before this. My situation is a little different from yours in that the progression is very slow, but I also worry about the same things happening in the future and I can relate to not mentally dwelling there. The present is truly all we have, for all of us.
I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease… can’t imagine having ALS. Many of my symptoms are very similar to ALS, which in itself is very strange. I’m looking into a support group.
Hey Russ, My name's Rob. I'm 35 and in the diagnoses process and am struggling a bit. Been following you for a while. Your videos give me some hope and strength in the face of this. Would love to connect with you possibly sometime. Let me know man amd keep fighting the good fight. You are doing it with dignity and positivity and are an inspiration to me.
Hey Rob thank you for the comment man. Glad that I give you hope. This can be a very scary place to be at. You could reach me by messenger on Facebook. I'd love to chat man.
I'm actually sitting at home now having a Russ Marathon lol with my kitties here in STL. Gf is working late. Shoot me an email sometime if you are bored. I'm dealing with some rapid progression the last few days and it's been scary as hell. Your videos help me to breath and subside some of my panic that was setting in. Would love to exchange info with you brotha. Hmu. Email. Mtgmaker411@gmail.com. 🤜
They need to find the cause. A concerted effort is needed to investigate commonalities between victims that may identify the cause. Trying to treat the symptoms is one thing but to turn the tap off would be better. Like heart disease, so much effort is put into treating the symptoms when the cause is blocked arteries from fatty food. Clusters of ALS effected people are found to be living near algae bloom infestations which are known to be Neurotoxic. Others may not live near infected waterways but found that they enjoy water sports at a distant location and ingest the toxin then. Others may ingest the toxin some how else like eating sea food etc. If they find the cause then they can work out how to detox the poison out of the body. Good your able to be involved in a trial Russell. All the best.
I think finding the cause would be best plan of attack. They do ask a bunch of questions like this on the ALS registry. For the most part before I got sick I was in super great shape and healthy. For the two years before though was super stressed and had a lot on my plate.
Russell cowger Watching your shoulder twitching reminded me when I had lots of muscle twitching in random muscles. My whole right shoulder twitched every second for two days then moved to another muscle like in my leg. Twitching was bad for about 4 years and now only every few days. I don’t have ALS. I know ALS twitching is far worse and persistent. I feel for you in this predicament.
I lost dear friend of ALS yesterday. I know you are long gone by now, but i agree with your words.

I'm thinking they will be able to fix a few neurological diseases soon.
