- A fantastic weekend of Eastern Indigo Snake surveys with Ben Stegenga of the Orianne Society! These snakes are federally protected (meaning they cannot be caught without permits), and much of the work the Orianne Society does revolves around monitoring and protecting this species. We also saw a couple of gorgeous Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes, along with some other exciting finds!

Whooo! Eastern Indigos! I love these chonky noodles. For being such a big snake they're so chill and beautiful.

Never saw a snake survey before,so thanks.
Jeeez those indigos are absolute kings and queens so so beautiful!! I absolutely love the black face with very little red but the red is just killer too
That Grey rat snake was awesome
Indigos and Diamondbacks are always interesting. Thanks to Ben for letting you go along and capture this. That drone shot with the morning sun and the fog was awesome!
Indigos are so adorable! To be fair, I think all snakes are adorable.
NKF could just single out all this...Indigos plus EDBs plus Rat snakes and all the numerous other great herp plus mammal finds and combine forces with the great Orianne Society and it would be the greatest herping channel on TH-cam!! Great adventure!! Jim C.
Always happy with indigo’s and Diamondbacks lol
Great video,Noah.Keep them coming!!🎉
Great vid, Noah.
Wonderful collaboration with the OS gang.
Indigos and EDB’s never disappoint.
Gorgeous gray rat!
They’re so prettyyyy
Awesome!!!!!!
Wow thank you for this video. I remeber being a kid flipping through my Dad's ( it was old then ) A Golden Nature Guide. Reptiles and Amphibians book ( this was a long time ago ) and marveling over the Indigo snake. It's still on my list of snakes I would like to see in person.
Was that a melanistic slider? It looked really dark. The rest of the video was off the chain too. I love seeing indigos. They never get old. The edbs were nice too per usual. Thanks for the dope video. Catch you on the flipside.

Dang, you’re right down the road from me
Denzel Curry... makes PERFECT sense to me! Ain't shit changed since Lil Peep died on the south side.. 😅
The indigo's were beautiful, but I just love those eastern diamondbacks! Wouldn't it be cool if you were immune to their venom and could freehandle to your heart's content? Maybe not - there would be so many anxouus and depressed rattler's that there wouldn't be enough snake Xanax to help 'em all out!
At any moment I expected that indigo to spread a hood 😳
There were lots of indigos in south Florida in the 70’s, most got caught and shipped out by the pet trade before protection!😢
Most got their habitats developed. They were still common in 1976, when they were protected and trade banned, and yet they still declined. The pet trade had no effect on their decline.
Despite what you may post in your videos, after about 20 years of searching throughout Florida, I've come to the conclusion that wild Eastern Indigos aren't actually real 😅
I remember huge ones back in the 1970s along AIA south of Ponte Vedra on the east coast. Can still see one with a big toad in its mouth. Also one stretched across the two-lane AIA.
Unfortunately it may be nearly impossible to find them anywhere except the most protected habitats.
Snake tracks?
Are these snakes bitey
Now im not the snake handlin type of person myself, but if does seem like those Indigos are fairly friendly towards people for being completely wild. Am i wrong?
Really thankful I never liked Thousand Island dressing.
