Transformers Victory: Star Saber goes to help on Planet Micro, but soon needs more help than he brought. Luckily the new Greatshot Shows up to help out.
The Legends Manga stated Greatshot is a reformatted Sixshot after he was hunted down for his betrayal of the Sixclan he faked his death and Star Saber upgraded him into Greatshot to continue the ruse of his death to fight as an Autobot
He basically decided being a Ninja Consultant was annoying, and became a Samurai. The main remolded parts were the face robot molding, a new rhino head, and some spiffy gold chest detailing.
It's a scary place to start the character, on the other hand, Tyrest retired Ultra Magnus and introduces us to Star Saber whose toy is similar in that he's a smaller robot in armor, could have been anyone in that suit even a Decepticon.
They did Star Saber and a few other Japanese-Original Transformer characters dirty. if they wanted Star Saber to start out as a Zealout, have him go on a character arc of redemption, not write him off as a one-note character just to kill off later.
I think that Greatshot could make a decent choice for any version of the Wreckers The idea of a former 'con after redemption even if they know they don't deserve is a regular feature of potential Wreckers members as we know from IDW 1.0
I never liked the anime's silliness of announcement attacks or screaming "TRANSFORM" at the top of their lungs but goddamn the animation is beautiful and I would love to see it taken apart one of these days and recycled into a sequel to the old 86 movie for pure nostalgia and giving the original cartoon a proper send off as opposed to the lack luster "Rebirth" mini-series
I feel yeah, That's why I started watching them in the first place. I always hated the Rebirth end to G1. Honestly if your a Diehard fan you can handle the little Anima stuff in them cause the animation and story whoops or shows ass! Hardcore! As a G1 fan to another do yourself a favor and watch them :-) Headmasters, Super-God Master Force and Victory. I liked SGMF and V the most of all the shows including our G1.
OK, there's a lot of ani' I haven't seen yet, but just wanted to say I'm pleased that, first time in a long time, I see a fan-sub (if in fact it is one) with a font that approaches "legible", and annotations that approach "un-intrusive". Happens rarely in my experience so far, so maybe I should give credit whenever I come across it.

hey guys anybody notice that Power plant vaguely looks like the power core from dweller in the depths? its not identical but thats what i thought of when i seen this one.
The mystery of Greatshot led to many to believe that he is Sixshot not because they are voice by the same actor but because both have the same modes except the animal mode and both are ninjas and speak the same tone. Both when engaged in battle, they don’t waste time talking. Furthermore, they can be linked back to Headmasters, Sixshot turned against the Decepticons and helped the Autobots though indirectly. Since then he left to become a wanderer. He could have upgraded his appearance and became Greatshot.
They ran with that, so at this point in time it is official, Greatshot is a reformatted Sixshot. Hence his "Decepticon past". He was a Decepticon once. Was a Headmaster too in between Headmasters and Victory.

Personally, I kinda like that they say “Transform”. In Japanese, it must sound really foreign and they probably use it as some sort of password or spell. It’s like if we had an english dub that took a Japanese word to initiate something, like “Hakai” or something
If you watch the full series it gets old and annoying real quick. When there is bigger battles with a lot of "TRANSFOOORM"ing going on it kinda sucks and another thing they do is announcing every type of weapon, blast, or special move. Here and there would be one thing or maybe big combination forms too but every single time is a little over doing it.

@@WhisperingAila I guess you were more used to it with the shows you mentioned, I didn't watch any of those. I grew up watching early 80s cartoons, original g1 transformers, gi-joe, voltron, he-man, & thundercats mainly and they announced some things but that seemed due to the western style of voice work. Series that were dubbed direct from the eastern versions were more like that and came later in my childhood so I didn't really like it. I never liked Beast Wars, never understood it and why the transformers franchise took that direction, but R.I.D, Armada, and Victory have awesome animation and like them for that reason.

To be fair, we're arguing two sides of the same coin in terms of Transformers, and while it's okay to compare and contrast different shows and aspects of TF, it's all kind of under the same banner. That being said, I can see where you're coming from with your likes and dislikes mentioned. I never really grew up with RID, Armada, or even Prime. In fact, even my interest in Transformers started just by passing until Victory eventually pulled me into the bigger picture.

It's a little surprising that they don't have a japanese translated word for "transform"; but to use the english word for it. ALso, interesting that they have all different characters for their version, vs the US version characters with Optimus Prime instead of "Supreme Commander" that they use in their show, & so on for all the rest of the characters.
They have, but they wanted to use the English word "Transform" since it is considered cool in Japanese culture to use English words. If you watched enough anime, you would see they use the word "henshin". In the Car Robots series, the Destrongers actually say "Henshin" when they transform.

Those trivia is a bit random but they are also kinda neat. It is like, using actually Kisama or like Yatsura as translation sub XD They kinda does adds up the feelings tho, even if sometimes one kinda don't remember, and it becomes a bit awkward.

The Rebirth series was painful to watch. This along with Headmasters was very entertaining. Wouldve loved for them to expand on Zone.

yuusha was made to replace transformers due to a decline in popularity after Victory.
This was before Yuusha series (Transformers Victory was from 1989, while Yuusha series started in 1990).
