This is of course good information, often there is a delay in diagnosis and it can be so devastating. A young healthy looking person confuses doctors even. I lost my dearest friend to colon cancer, late stage diagnosis. I am encouraged to see so many that survive now.
Here in Ireland the level of ppl getting bowel cancer in their 30's is ever increasing. There have been countless news stories recently of people in their 30's going to their general docs and being told "oh, it's just IBS", then they discover far too late that they have cancer. It's despicable.
I really struggle to listen to people talking with background music playing at the same time, so I could bare no more than 5 mins of this 😩 I'm so glad you're ok now though honey xx
You look so healthy and beautiful I would not believe you were unwell at all. Thank you for sharing your story I know it will help many people to not feel alone with their health concerns. God bless and help you to heal :)
Just stumbled upon this, thank you for sharing your symptoms. Awareness for all cancers is so so important. So happy you are here to tell us your story. Also you are so pretty and your energy is absolutely amazing
So happy to see you looking so health & bright ….had all the same symptoms for years , used to come in stages ….sickness and diarrhoea, sleeping for hours , constipation, like you sitting on the toilet for hours rocking back and fourth . The latter stages were stomach aches , constipation.I remember attending A& E it was so bad ….I was given antibiotics and it was suggested I may having legionaries disease . During these times I was screened twice for bowel cancer , both came back asking for another sample , both 2nd test were clear …..I had it all along ! . Three years after an operation were a third of my bowel was removed and some chemo …I’m feeling much better , still being scanned , was a time were Scan picked up something in my lungs , they thought it had spread …turns out I picked up a serious lung condition that requires 2yrs antibiotics treatment ….don’t know if I should celebrate or cry lol . As I said , good to see you looking so healthy and well , I wish , your babies and your families all the best …you are amazing Xx Sorry for the poor grammar …chemo Brian lol Xx
Praying for you dear heart! My little sisters experience was close to yours. It took the “doctors” a year and a half AFTER she had been in pain to find out it was stage 4 colon cancer. Just because someone is under 50 is no reason to not do a colonoscopy if there are issues!
My son was diagnosed with appendix cancer 3 years ago at age 40. The appendix is part of your colon. And yes it can be malignant. If after a scan you are told you have an appendix stone INSIST it be removed ASAP. He is doing well so far after a right hemicolectomy and 2 chemotherapies.
Thank you for doing a video just on symptoms along with your own personal examples. This was very helpful, to the point and easy to understand. God bless you!
My good friend looked very similar to you, young and pretty... she died at 43 from colon cancer. No family history. She also suffered with severe stomach pain but the doc's wouldn't properly investigate until it was too late.
I’ve had colon polyps since age 19! Thank God I have regular colonoscopies and upper endoscopies to keep an eye on my body. I’ve lost count how many polyps I’ve had removed.
Now this is a true example of what preventive care should be!!!!! I don’t think many understand that polys are pre-cancer! Thank goodness you follow up properly!
How did you found that you have polyps in the first place? I mean you had some kind of symptoms or just decided to make a prophilactic colonoscopy check-up just like a health care check-up without symptoms?
@@magdalena.slavova I had horrible stomach pain and diarrhea. I have family history of digestive disorders and thankfully I had a doctor who truly listened to me and was thorough. Usually polyps have no symptoms. I was really lucky. I also am a strong advocate for my health and always get a second or third opinion if needed on health concerns.
I remember forcing doctors to do screenings and an endoscopy on my mom after being in hospital for pain over and over again. How come no doctor ever thought about it? Am not even a doctor I just do my research online and boom it crossed my mind we needed to do something. Finally results came in and she had a bad wound in her stomach which could have been cancerous if it wasn't diagnosed and treated on time.. sometimes doctors assume symptoms way too much, they never take things seriously unless they see you in death bed. Crazy
This is one of the biggest problems with cancer. Carcinomas, or cancers derived from epithelial tissues, make up 90% of human cancers and usually take 10-30 years to form. For most of that time, they will be almost entirely asymptomatic, and when they do cause symptoms, there is an extremely long list of other potential causes that are vastly more likely. For example, stomach pain and indigestion are a symptom of stomach cancer, and there are about a million other causes which are much more likely, especially in someone young. Cancers can also produce a baffling and endless array of symptoms that vary from person to person, which explains the meme about how whenever you type just about any symptom into webMD, cancer often arises as a potential diagnosis.
It's my first time seeing your video thanks for sharing your story. I was Diagnosed with stage 3 rectum colon cancer on August 16, 2019 i also remember when I was so tired and weak just always felt like I was sleepy all the time. And on 8/16/19 I went to the restroom and alot of blood came out never-ending went to the ER and on the way up there I told my husband I hope its not cancer. Will they tell us its cancer from the ER I went to the 8th floor and was there for almost 3 weeks went home and started chemo in September for 6 months then they told me I had to do other 6 months after chemo I started radiation. And the whole time from day 1 on 8/16/19 till the day I was done with chemo and radiation treatments I not once cry my husband said your not nervous I looked at him and no cause God's got in his hands. Yes I went through so much pain weakness, in March 2, 2021 my last surgery so as of 9/2021 I'm cancer FREE. God bless us all and be safe ❤

You are going to save someone's life with this video. Thank you for sharing such a painful, personal experience. You can beat this. Sharon Osborne did.
This is sad. This is such a big problem in today’s medical field. They argue with you and think they know exactly how you feel. The medical industry is a joke nowadays. Always advocate for yourself and argue with the doctors if you have to. Half of them are there for a check.
I am waiting on results from colonoscopy, I am 20 year breast cancer survivor. Been having symptoms similar to yours. You are giving me strength no matter what news is received. Appreciate your sharing.. continued healing and health to you.
I'm happy she's a survivor! My dad was diagnosed with 4th stage colon cancer in Oct 2013 and he passed away in June 2014. He had rounds of chemo but that only made him worse the rest of the time he had left.
I will keep you in my prayers my dear! I had severe stomach pain at one time for a while has a colonoscopy and a upper endoscopy, that turned out good. I hope that you are doing ok, and keeping your faith. I cant even imagine what you are going through. Will continue to pray for you daily. God Bless You Michael
I'm so glad he is doing well. Appendix cancer is rare, with about 1500 cases per year. I had pin worms at age 6 which caused Appendicitis, so I had to have it removed. I have never missed it since.
Thank you Ma’am for sharing such a highly personal and private story and ETERNAL shame on your physicians for not listening to their patient and taking her concerns seriously. It nearly cost you your life. As a 2x cancer survivor I learned long-ago that NO ONE (CERTAINTY not your doctors), including well-intentioned, loving family members, friends, nurses and others will be your own best patient advocate. YOU must fill this roll. So many people are intimidated when it comes to questioning the judgment and decision-making of their “God” physicians. They shouldn’t be. You continued to experience persistent, worsening GI symptoms which your PCP clearly didn’t take seriously- prescribing you one H2 Blocker after another whilst having done little to no laboratory, radiological, or physical testing to determine the source of the problem. As if prescribing you a laundry list of antacids will fulfill the standard of care. It won’t and it doesn’t. The patient always knows his/her body and symptoms best. When a doctor fails you despite worsening symptoms, time to find another physician immediately. Your life depends on it. I’m so very sorry for what you’ve endured, but at least you now have answers. Never be hesitant or recalcitrant to speak-up on your own behalf. It’s your right. When something doesn’t sound or feel right, it probably isn’t. Best wishes.
One of her mistakes was not going to a Gastro Entomologist. They would have given her a colonoscopy. I WILL say that younger and younger persons are being diagnosed with colon cancer and this is beginning to change the "rule" about when to first start having colonoscopies. Trust me people, colon cancer is a LOT worse than a colonoscopy. My husband died of colon cancer and it was TOTALLY unnecessary but he was one of those who would NOT see a doctor. He paid a high price for that.
Go to the emergency room if the doctor isn’t listening my doctor didn’t listen to me the other day and I just went to the emergency room and I got every test every everything so it’s more expensive but it is worth it
I have had stomach issues for a bit but it’s due to my anxiety that I was diagnosed with. When I get anxious it messes with my stomach. I am ok now !!! I decided to change my diet… And exercise more to help my anxiety..
I hope your doing well. I guess some people can beat it and some can't. I just had a relative in her early 40's that passed away. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer than had spread to her liver. There was surgery on her colon, and Chemo that had to be adjusted to a very aggressive level of Chemo. None of the Chemo treatments worked The cancer then spread to her lungs. When it was decided there was no hope treatment ended hospice came and she passed a week later. It was 18 months from diagnosis to her passing. I really think the Medical world needs to start recommending that younger people get colonoscopy's, because far to many young people are getting Colon Cancer now days. I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if insurance company's probably only pay for it after a certain age.
I was diagnosed in 2017 with stage 4 metastitic colon cancer now in my lungs and received over 50 chemo treatments. Please continue to post we cancer patients need to know about the different lifestyle stages of cancer. I frequently ask the Docs if i can travel and they do not have an answer.
I loved your vídeo and I hope you are doing well. My mother died when she was only 43. It was in 1975 and Medicine was not prepared to deal with cancer at that time.
Scary because this started when she was pregnant... You would think something would have shown up on 1 of the test through the pregnancy.. Bless your heart🙏❤️ the Lord is definitely with you

Thank you soo much for sharing your heroic story. What a journey! I am soo proud of you and your positivity. I to was diagnosed with colorectal cancer on the 2st of February of this year and I am still awaiting a surgery date. I thank God that his hands has been holding me up and except for the discomfort of not being able to relieve myself as per normal, i cannot say thar I have been experiencing any excruciating pain as i did in late June to November of 2021. I truly believe that it was milk that saved my life because it was only when i consumed milk that i was reeling with the worse kind of labour pain. And trust me, i know what labour pain is since i have had 8 children. I will tell all those who read our stories to please become firmilar with your body and listen to it when it becomes rebellious if you eat something it does not like. My only question now Is, what foods or drinks should i be eating and drinking before surgery to keep my strength and the same question goes for chemo. Thank you again for your bravery and honesty. God go with you and all those of you who are fighting the good fight. Peace and love my friends. 💞💞
My best friend died of colon cancer in Feb. 2011. She had a krukenburg tumor. No one lives if they have a Krukenburg tumor. I hope no one here has a Krukenburg. She was diagnosed in Oct. 2008.
I don't know what is going on in the US. Younger people are now being diagnosed with colon cancer. The old guideline about colonoscopies at age 50 no longer applies. I was Stage 2, had chemo, radiation and surgery at age 47. This was in the past 6-9 months. Actor Chadwick Boseman died at age 43 or something. It's crazy. Folks, please consider colonoscopies at age 40, not 50, if you are otherwise healthy without symptoms.
Agreed~The standard should absolutely change to age 40, screening, for everyone; plus, earlier for those with a family history or dealing with IBD, such as Colitis and Crohns!! I lost a dear friend, age 54, last year, to this tough disease, and currently know 2 others, 40's & 60's dealing with it, in Chemo💔:(
"Ask for screening." And your doctor answer is: take Omeprazole for a few months, you'll be fine, you don't lose weight, you don't poop with blood, there's nothing to worry about. But when you have all these symptoms, it's too late to help you. I know this too well...

Odybeatscancer - thank you so much for sharing. You are so inspiring. Did you have to have surgery? Chemo? I hope you will share more about your recovery. @@odysurvives2111 Thank you. Joanna went to the doctor because of a little bleeding. The doc said it was probably just a little tear or something and to go back if it got worse. Unfortunately it didn’t come back and a while later she started getting pains and that’s when we discovered she’d got stage four. The doctor came when Jo died to do a death certificate and she was in tears, obviously feeling guilty and that she’d let her patient down but we don’t blame her. Our son who later became a doctor says that you look for the obvious cause of something first and then pursue it so I suppose the doctor was only doing what they do.

I really struggle to listen to people talking with background music playing at the same time, so I could bare no more than 5 mins of this 😩
I'm so glad you're ok now though honey xx
You look healthy and beautiful. I hope you are ok now. Good video. Thanks for educating us. God bless!
Thank you so much! I’m dealing with a relapse now but I do feel GREAT otherwise🤍🤍🤍
Wow to the complements! Whyyy thank youuuu friend!
As I said , good to see you looking so healthy and well , I wish , your babies and your families all the best …you are amazing Xx
Sorry for the poor grammar …chemo Brian lol Xx
Praying for you dear heart! My little sisters experience was close to yours. It took the “doctors” a year and a half AFTER she had been in pain to find out it was stage 4 colon cancer. Just because someone is under 50 is no reason to not do a colonoscopy if there are issues!
Yes that’s my prob they won’t belive me
My son was diagnosed with appendix cancer 3 years ago at age 40.
Hello 👋
My good friend looked very similar to you, young and pretty... she died at 43 from colon cancer. No family history. She also suffered with severe stomach pain but the doc's wouldn't properly investigate until it was too late.
I’m surprised they didn’t check for gallbladder at least initially, I had terrible stomach pain with gallbladder attacks.
@@srmd86 thanks for answering!
@@magdalena.slavova 😊
I remember forcing doctors to do screenings and an endoscopy on my mom after being in hospital for pain over and over again. How come no doctor ever thought about it? Am not even a doctor I just do my research online and boom it crossed my mind we needed to do something. Finally results came in and she had a bad wound in her stomach which could have been cancerous if it wasn't diagnosed and treated on time.. sometimes doctors assume symptoms way too much, they never take things seriously unless they see you in death bed. Crazy
Sooo true...I'm experiencing the same with my mom's doctors. 😑

Oh my word! I did not know this! I love Sharon Osborne! Thanks so much for sharing!
@@odysurvives2111 Sharon had colon cancer in 2002 and went thru the whole treatment, surgery and chemo. She's a survivor. You can be, too. ❤️
This is sad. This is such a big problem in today’s medical field. They argue with you and think they know exactly how you feel. The medical industry is a joke nowadays. Always advocate for yourself and argue with the doctors if you have to. Half of them are there for a check.
Beautiful! Very happy to hear you're healthy now!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, you are so powerful! I really admire how you didn't obsess about your illness but just kept fighting
Hec yea friend! No obsessing over what we can’t control over here! Hope you’re well!
I am waiting on results from colonoscopy, I am 20 year breast cancer survivor. Been having symptoms similar to yours. You are giving me strength no matter what news is received. Appreciate your sharing.. continued healing and health to you.
Hi friend!!!! Thanks got reaching out! Praying for your health as well, hoping you receive favorable news!!!
Hello how are you doing 😊😊😊
I'm happy she's a survivor! My dad was diagnosed with 4th stage colon cancer in Oct 2013 and he passed away in June 2014. He had rounds of chemo but that only made him worse the rest of the time he had left.
Thank you so much for sharing your story.. I can see you haven’t commented or made new content for a long time.. I hope you are doing well ❤
I will keep you in my prayers my dear!
I had severe stomach pain at one time for a while has a colonoscopy and a upper endoscopy, that turned out good.
I hope that you are doing ok, and keeping your faith.
I cant even imagine what you are going through.
Will continue to pray for you daily.
God Bless You
Michael
I’m doing great! Happy to hear you’re getting screened!!!!!
I pray that you recover soon. Love from Florida.
So happy that you beat cancer!! My husband had appendix cancer and also had appendix Cancer at 35 and had HIPEC chemotherapy.
Great news! So happy to hear your hubby was eligible for the surgery, although I know how difficult the recovery can be 💕
I'm so glad he is doing well. Appendix cancer is rare, with about 1500 cases per year. I had pin worms at age 6 which caused Appendicitis, so I had to have it removed. I have never missed it since.
How is your husband doing??
Im about ready to search for my 6th Doctor. I'm just so tired & weak, Im trying to drum up the energy. Wish me luck everybody & THANKS in advance!
How is this lovely young woman?God Bless you Sweetheart❤❤Love from Philly.
Hello how are you doing 😊😊☺️☺️
Go to the emergency room if the doctor isn’t listening my doctor didn’t listen to me the other day and I just went to the emergency room and I got every test every everything so it’s more expensive but it is worth it
Thank you, Key. Very brave of you to share.❤️
Thanks for watching🤍
Hello how are you doing 😊😊😊☺️

Apparently she finally died in 2021.
@@felroberto I'm sorry to hear of her passing. Thank you for telling me.

I am sorry😒 i have these same symptoms for 3 years everyday(and for my whole life) and it is endometriosis, just "endometriosis". Sometimes doctors will just dismiss our pain and we can miss even cancer. Good luck to you.
Im sorry you feel dismissed! I’d push for some new providers and for an endoscopy/colonoscopy! Good luck to youuu
Yes colon cancers symptoms different from each others! I think most common symptom is rectal bleeding or blood in stool.
I have blood in my dairria.... yesterday i was in hospital...i will continue the tests... pray for me 🙏😞
@Dimitra kapa how are you ?
Hi 👋. I'm so happy you made it. May God bless u always. ❤️ 🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏
My best friend died of colon cancer in Feb. 2011. She had a krukenburg tumor. No one lives if they have a Krukenburg tumor. I hope no one here has a Krukenburg. She was diagnosed in Oct. 2008.
Thank you so much for posting this. It is very undelfish and sweet for you to do so.
Agreed~The standard should absolutely change to age 40, screening, for everyone; plus,
earlier for those with a family
history or dealing with IBD,
such as Colitis and Crohns!!
I lost a dear friend, age 54, last
year, to this tough disease, and currently know 2 others, 40's &
60's dealing with it, in Chemo💔:(
"Ask for screening." And your doctor answer is: take Omeprazole for a few months, you'll be fine, you don't lose weight, you don't poop with blood, there's nothing to worry about. But when you have all these symptoms, it's too late to help you. I know this too well...

Really hope you pull through God bless

Odybeatscancer - thank you so much for sharing. You are so inspiring. Did you have to have surgery? Chemo? I hope you will share more about your recovery. My insurance refused to pay for my 2nd colonoscopy years later but I went ahead and paid out of my pocket because i felt my life was worth it. I have had polyps and people say they are no big deal which sometimes they are not. But from everything I am reading from the comments, sounds like that can turn into cancer so I'm glad I got the colonoscopy.

Don’t be put off by doctors, you’re never too young for colon cancer. We lost our daughter at 21 to it.
I’m so sorry about your daughter. That’s right, “you’re never too young”. A lesson I learned the hard way
@@odysurvives2111 Thank you.
I hope you're doing better. Congratulations for having a kid how is she doing I hope she's doing well too hope she's healthy and well I lost someone to cancer 😢
