Tell me, have you been to the ruins beneath the waters of the Bounty? Or the treasure islands beyond the frozen waters of Blindfrost, in Othard's north? The fabled golden cities of the New World? The sacred sites of the forgotten people of the south sea isles? What about Meracydia, the southern continent? Do you know aught of its present state of affairs? ... I thought not. Even of your little Eorzea, you know precious little. The true identities of the Twelve, for instance. All of which is to say: expand your horizons. Go forth and seek discovery. Some of the civilizations in the reflections will surprise you. As the bearer of Azem's crystal, you may consider your duty to see at least that much. I certainly did...
I remember thinking climbing the steps to Meteion "I guess that's that for Etheirys. So, are we going to space?" Then Emet-Selch said that and I realized that's right, we have no idea about the Etheirys as a whole, not to even mention the remaining Shards. Guess we'll be here for a long, long time.
When he says "I certainly did", did Hades mean he saw it as Azems duty, or that it was HIS own duty? As if he was Azem at one point? That part confused me a little
@@sv4271 He meant it as in the fact that he, while on duty as an Ascian, saw all of which he mentioned. As such, he deems it the bare minimum that our WoL (Azem's Source counterpart and bearer of their crystal) should do the same so they can see that Etheirys isn't remotely limited to Eorzea or what we've already seen.
I found this one so haunting; there's not even echoes of the past like you could hear in the Amaurot mix on the First. The piano playing is the only thing you hear and the Watcher the only one you see...
There's a poetry. It uses the motifs of "To The Edge", but whenever it gets to the line, "Now we're forgotten/Now and evermore!" It tapers off, as though it forgot where it was for a second.
@user-zn4sr1ll1c Huh...? What are you even saying... Madame did not in fact say that in their reply. I had to do a double take after reading this, and your opinion on the message behind the motif is the only thing that "matters little" here I'm afraid. Look, none of this is a big deal enough to argue about, but this paragraph is giving me a headache. Just know that I only came here to clear up confusion; everything I said was a fact and information anyone can get with very little time and energy. Not trying to be a jerk but lol But I do hope I can make it clearer for you so, just in case you care, here goes: - In an interview with quazii & yoshi p it was stated that their devs had not fully realized the Ascians as characters until late Stormblood. There are also more cases on this but... do you really need more (you don't)? - The OST in the video is a cover/remake/remix, of the original song "Neath dark waters" Which shares it's composition with "Full fathom five" I was simply correcting them on what this song was covering, which was not "To the edge" as that piece has very different composition; sharing much of it with "Who brings shadow" and the "Shadowbringers" track from the expansion of the same name's trailer. To me, it's like giving credit to a film director for coming up with a fresh new idea that was in fact spawned in the book the film is based on (a very insensitive thing to do, although tbf music pieces don't have emotions :P) Hope this makes sense.
Elidibus forgot what he was even doing all of this for. Who he was doing it for. I think the only Ascian who would have made the effort would have been Emet-Selch, if only for the selfish comfort of familiarity.
@@TheOnlyLonelyBoy i mean the watcher would have been the only ancient he knew that wasnt sundered, and could give him a slightly more neutral opinion of what he was fighting for; all the others were tempered. Especially before he lost his memories
Can this be farmed now or do you still need to pay for the whole track just to get it? I know the other songs are good but for my RP bar I'd just want *this* song. Don't really want to pay 40 bucks for one orch
There is an orchestrion roll for it, but it's not obtainable through gameplay. It's a bonus item from buying the "Scions & Sinners" album from the SE store.

I certainly did...
Laying out contents for 2 expansions in like 20 seconds, while you are still struggling to process the ongoing events of 6.0

Imagine, the Watcher has been fulfilling his duty all alone, for 12,000 years ...
Maybe even longer
He has had the loporrits
He's got the loporites occasionally

Cool as that is, it's also opposite- Neath Dark Waters was base ShB (5.0, Amaurot), while To The Edge was 5.3
@@jacobsiron6929 You realize that plots and music for games are planned way in advance, right?
They really aren't, Ascians weren't even really developed till stormbood
To the edge is just Neath dark waters the boss theme

Give the Watcher a hug, how lonely it must have been...
this song winded me when i first heard it
That stutter at around 0:30.... PS4 controller drift... I feel your pain my man v w v
Soken just tries to come up with reasons to give us piano solos and we just keep letting him do it.
He [can] keep getting away with it!!!
This song hurts my heart so much thinking about the Ancients, but it's so beautiful. One of my favorite FFXIV songs.
I didn't even remember this song at all - then the music started and I immediately teared up.
With all the history and context, this arrangement really hits hard, thank you Keiko!!
I still tear up.. one day our little Azem will join their comrades in the aetherial sea.
I love the tempest... now... I love the watchers place... this theme will forever be my favorite.

When this played... soo haunting and did not expect it to return in Endwalker.
"Remember us... Remember... That we once lived..." -Emet-Selch
If there’s a song I’d learn piano for, it’s this
Did you learn it?
Absolutely beautiful
hauntingly beautiful
listened to this while reading the new tales from the dawn encore sidestory from the lodestone, it was so nice

Has anyone found piano sheet music for this particular arrangement?
Thanks
