I put this song on and melt away from the world. Thank you for uploading this. Thank you FFXIV for such an amazing piece of music and granting me such a powerful tool for fighting back anxiety, stress and worry.

@@Crosszero1 Nevet said it was an easy dream. Just an achievable one. Just gotta like, find a nice island, and then go there. Most ocean doesnt suck, just the easy to get to bits of it, with commercial beaches.

This theme with the lyrics (“Flow”) is definitely very beautiful. But “Close in the Distance” is my all-time emotional song from FFXIV. That dang song always turns on the waterworks! I know all the words, but I can never sing it!
The acoustic guitar is a big part of it. But yeah, Im sure that was a callback. The music team for this game kill it with that kind of thing snuck in everywhere

i find myself humming an offshoot of the lyrics every time the main motif plays "heart of embers through autumn tides.." "calling swiftly while we bleed the light..." "smoldering softly while we bide our time..." "marching forward when we're left behind..."
perfect theme song, brimming with nostalgia. nice harmony and counterpoint between the two guitars, i think the percussion is also tuned to the guitars and part of the harmony. would love if anyone with better music theory than me can break this down!
It's probably the other way around, since FF16's OST was written long before the game was actually released (apparently its first tracks were written in 2020).

It's hard to imagine how expansion after expansion the music just ups the ante. Music was great since ARR and now we are here.
