Substituting the values:
TH-cam Revenue = (10,000 x $5.00) + (50,000 x $0.10) + (50,000 x $0.05)
TH-cam Revenue = $50,000 + $5,000 + $2,500
TH-cam Revenue = $57,500
In this example, the estimated TH-cam revenue would be $57,500

My last venture, I designed 3D models for 3D printing for about 11 years whilst selling LEGO and doing the school run with 3 children .
A neighbour ,Loadsamoney the plasterer is so blinkered that his life is all about work & money. 6:30am start, pub at 1:30pm, 3 hours of drinking and betting on horses, to get home and do it all again the next day.

I had a really good run last year, then stopped putting videos out as regularly at Christmas and my god they penalised me!

Do you know something Lee, I get sick and tired of certain individuals that think what you do and many other TH-camrs out there, that it's not a proper job. Well, the way I look at life, especially these days, if you can make a living, it doesn't matter what the hell you are working at. And before anyone kicks off, I'm not including drugs, absolutely not. A lot of people may say what I do is not a real job, but like you I work damned hard and I live a very good life. Dave
As far as I know, you have to have about one million views a month to get a good income from YT.
That is hard work, and YT is a risky source of income. The youtuber Bangkok112 had more than a million subscribers, and he suddenly got demonetized by YT back in 2020. They gave him no real explanation.

If people think that creating and running a TH-cam channel is money for nothing, then why aren't they doing it themselves?
And another thing. People don't understand how it works running a company. You have revenues but need to deduct costs: accountant, food, cameraman, petrol, the salary that you pay yourself. Then the company pays corporation tax. And it pays you a dividend that you pay tax on. So your income is a bit of salary and a bit of dividend, both taxable. Which is a presumably quite a bit less than turnover. Does every £1 you pay for a loaf of bread represent £1 profit for Tescos? No, you have to deduct what Tescos paid for the bread and then something more for staff costs, etc. Same with every business.

Builders have a job for life, or until they can't climb ladders, my builder friend still gets little bits of work although he's restricted as to what he can do now. The builder who was refurbishing a nearby house is booked up until the end of the year.

As i have commented before, I have always had REAL jobs. Hurt my back 4 months ago driving a fuel truck refueling helicopters so i am at a cross roads at 59. TH-cam is not a real job, And being ashamed/embarrassed at what you get paid is BS. I also worked in mining for 27 years and depending on what stream you were in everyone knew what every one earnt because of pay grades.

Cant see why anyone would complain about you-tubers making money. It is a modern form of entertainment and people have been making money of entertainment for a very long time. If you did not have content-makers, there would be no you-tube.

I really am not interested in how much TH-camrs make. I wouldn't want to know how much a postman makes, or a barber, or a gravedigger. I just don't care. I watch numerous videos with all kinds of content and I'm very grateful to all vloggers for making the effort to produce stuff worth watching.

Good insight on how it works, my sister was only asking the other day how youtubers make money.
Hope you get your money from TUI, Three and Currys which were some of the adverts i seen on this video, mind you think that as more to do with my searches lately, often on Tui website looking at holidays, was on Three last week uprading my phone, which is what the Currys advert was about.
There are some that make YT videos for their primary income but for most they still have a day job, maybe a spouse that works, or just do it for additional part time income. Some do them for fun and some expenses or to channel persons to other video channels like Patreon or their own channels. One risk for YT'ers is demonetization, especially from late 2022. That is to protect advertisers from their ads with videos of controversial political and social subjects. Discussion of self unaliving (even here you have to be careful), certain weapons or even showing woman's bare feet can get you demonitorized.

I have watched a number of TH-camrs that have given more details of their earnings. I never understood why we can’t be like Sweden where everyone’s salary is public information.
Why should people's wages be public?
@@TheMacMaster in Sweden it prevents companies from paying different wage levels to employees with the same job and experience. It allows clear wage competition between different employers and it removes many of the issues over discussing finances openly in groups for advice and support. It also makes it more difficult for those financing lifestyles through criminal activity to blend in to law abiding populations. It also removes the pressure for people who cannot afford various labels and visible wealth projection to try and portray fake prosperity. It has resulted in better mental health, lower stress and a happier population. No one is embarrassed over what they earn.
@@stephenrussell6074 many here live way beyond their means though. our neighbours earn about 800k krona a year between them. about the same as my wife. they have 5 million krona bolön 7k month car lease.

i earn 450k a year. my wife 800k a year. we have no mortgage on our new built house. paid it off in 10 years flat. 1m invested. 1m in cash. no too bad in 19 years since we landed here.

TBH what you earn makes no difference to me, that's your business only. In life I've found we earn as much as we can, and we all try to do it. If someone offers you more we take it. Human nature for most people.
$306 a day is not that much when I was working as a sub contractor painter in 2016 I was on £250 a day
This sort of thing is per day though, whereas subbing is per worked day. The idea of the TH-cam income is that you still earn on Sunday, bank holidays, when you're on holiday etc whereas plastering you don't do 365 days a year.

Lee, I would like to thank you for posting this video. I started a TH-cam channel with a close friend about caregiving. This was helpful.
I am curious, if like you say, you're worth less than £1 Million, I am not sure, if I were you, I would be spending over 10% of my net worth on a car, even if it does provide content. There were certainly way more affordable EV's you could have purchased to make the same points you have.
You say that a lot of the website's that estimate your income and net worth are wrong. Have you come across any that were actually pretty accurate?

No one forces me to watch TH-cam. Yhere is a fairly small but diverse TH-camrs I watch regularly. Im happy to he entertained by the humour, science, engineering and historical content of what I watch. I m happy for anyone to earn a living from TH-cam if you bring something thay entertains me. Reaction videos should be banned though waste of bandwidth and low imagination. Keep the content coming Lee

That's fine. As I said in the video. I have an accountant and pay tax on the earnings. Also claim expenses. It's run as a business. 👍🏼 The blooming accountant charges a fortune. 🙄
