  • Took my friend's 2010 Triumph Thunderbird with the 104 ci big bore kit out for a spin. I was not expecting this bike to be such a beast! Brady, you're going to love this bike!

    Your buddy has great taste, he must be loving it right now! Just got my M endorsement last year and immediately went out and bought a Thunderbird Storm as my first bike; so happy I didn't go with a smaller bike first.

    I have a Thunderbird Storm 1700. It makes 98hp 115lbft torque from factory.
    With an air filter ,cat removed and performance mufflers ,and a custom tune it's probably just over 100hp at the crank. Maybe 118 torque.
    At the wheel it's 92hp and 108 lbft torque. The engine pulls strong to around 6200 RPM.
    0-60 was just over 4 seconds stock.
    Not sure now. I've also added hard bags and crash bar so it's heavier now.

      I was really impressed with the Thunderbird. I’d love to try one out with those goodies that you have on yours. I bet she rips!

      @@AG2W my brother has a Vic Cross Country Tour. Great bike. I know my Triumph is faster but the Vic handles effortlessly by comparison.

    I have a 2015 Thunderbird LT. I added the Remus stainless exhaust and it really allows the bike to breathe. The bike can achieve 65 mph in first gear and it has a 6 speed . The large 6 gallon tank allows you to ride a fairly great distance. The engine is extremely well balanced and the ever present torque will keep you at freeway speed with no problems.

      Yeah the bike is a beast! My buddy definitely appreciates the large fuel tank as well!

      Just got 2014 tbird storm 1700 right before winter is starting here in minnesota. Super stoked and definitely impressed. Been on a 2006 speed triple 1050 for going on 10 years. What a different experience. Smooth and stable and as much power and torque as you could ask for. Can't wait to ride this thing!

      @@NobilityandLoyalty actually didn't like it! Was sliding off the back on the one day-ride I did before it got cold. Actually got a mustang 2 up seat already. More of ridge for support on the back of the seat and also the passenger seat sits up higher too.

    Great review. When you said that you didn’t know Triumphs could do the muscle cruisers…that was a crazy statement. That bike was top muscle cruiser a couple years in a row. Surprised it was your bud’s first bike. A real heavy, powerful bike for first bike. Awesome bike though…especially if he got it for a low price. They hold their value, too. I got a 2013 same model and love it. Also have a 1998 Triumph Thunderbird Sport (that is a rocket ship). The wind deflector on that bike is not from Triumph though. That’s why it’s crap and it’s hard to find original Triumph windscreens as they discontinued them. I agree with the speedometer location. Aesthetically is beautiful but you need to take your eyes off the road to see it. Those bikes are really dependable, too. Way more than Harley…and way faster as stock.

    thunderbird

    harley fat boy ?what you choose?

    • @AG2W
      @AG2W  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm good question 🤔
      Performance wise it’s not even close. The Thunderbird would kick the Fat Boy’s ass. But as far as how well they hold up as a laid-back cruiser, I’d say the Harley takes the cake. I’m not a Harley fan by any stretch, but I’d personally choose the Harley over the Triumph. It’s more comfortable, sounds better, and there are a lot more aftermarket customization options available.

    Would you recommend buying?

    • @AG2W
      @AG2W  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a unique bike, so if it fits what someone is looking for I would definitely recommend it. There are a couple of changes I’d make to this particular bike, such as the bars, seat, etc, but Triumph’s engines, brakes, and transmissions are honestly second to none.

    HFS, I can't believe you didn't, at 3:35, as is your apparent eternal want, scoot up between the lanes and the adjacent vehicles, to get yourself at the lead of the prevailing traffic. Your illegality is slipping.

      One of Utah’s Department of Public Safety’s recommendations for filtering is to NOT do so if you don’t feel safe or comfortable doing it. As that was my first time riding that bike, I did not feel super comfortable 😁
