The perfect animal crossing game for me would have the soundtrack and overall feel of Wild World--with the old, potentially offensive and bold personalities for the villagers and NPCs, the island, the city, and the prettiness/some of the personalization abilities of New Horizons. I feel like New Horizons takes a lot of the fun out of it by making the characters milque toast and letting us play God too much. I like a game to sometimes kick my ass. I like to have to fight for my successes. I like villagers to hate me before they learn to like me, if at all.
There was a greater sense of immersion by having to learn to get a villagers trust, and inversely maybe not like a villager at first and have them grow on you. Instead now we kinda can just have anything we want so it becomes almost too easy and not as fun. And there feels almost like a sense of exploration in that way.

I honestly think that Nintendo started making its mistakes with New Leaf, the first installment where we are given this sense that we are "big shots," that the whole town revolves around our desires, and that all the animals worship us. I think it was more realistic and more fun to have to "learn to survive" and slowly become successful in an unfamiliar (although reasonably friendly) atmosphere. Some of us older fans also just might be biased toward the earlier games because they were the ones we played first, before we knew what to expect. It would be interesting to give ACWW and ACCF to younger players whose first game was NH, and ask their opinions.
i also want time travel back. nintendo has made many bad decisions for AC imo. the main problem seems to be that theyre taking a different route with AC rather than adding additional paths to the main route, if that makes sense. they could do it if they werent lazy@@madelinemorgan5692
I played city folk with my granddaughters, who are now so grown up...THIS music makes me happy and evokes those happy times, so I will listen to this while playing new horizons, which I can mute!
My grandmother would play, and we would visit each other's towns together. She always liked the game because she would go on about how cute it looked. I'm sure your granddaughters remember those moments fondly.
I do that all the time! I mute new horizons while listening to old animal crossing music. My grandma got me my first animal crossing game for my 11th birthday and I turn 30 this year. I miss her so much but these songs take me back to rosey times.

Dude this game absolutely rocked my childhood, the music always takes me back to those good times not having to worry about anything except what you're gonna do with your town next! (and what your villagers think about you) Each one of these songs has some sort of connection and nostalgia with me and I'm sure I'm not the only one. this was nice! I liked the inclusion of songs from the general soundtrack - a lot of compilations are just the hourlies. the soundtrack for the city itself in this game is one of my faves, so I appreciate all its variations being included! ending with the KK Bossa movie version was a Choice decision too.
The way the starting theme makes me feel. I'm thrown right back into my childhood playing this game in the house I grew up in, in the woods. Very sweet memories that I will always cherish deeply.

The city music gives me real goosebumps. So amazing, reminds me alot of detailed things of my childhood. Good times when i came back from school, sit on the sofa, turned on my wii, and forgot all the problems school brought me. True relax. Bought Animal Crossing New Horizons a couple months ago, and thats for sure a big time travel for me.
city folk has my favorite ost when it comes to animal crossing games, its really really homey and nostalgic for me. i usually just play the movies ost but this one is a great replacement to get straight to the chillest tunes, so thank you so much for putting all these songs together!

I remember the times I played this amazing game on the Wii when I was Just a Kid. So many memories man, even though some People might say its not a good game, for me it is. Just because of the simple fact that it brings me so many good memories. Listening to its ost makes me so nostalgic. Animal Crossing, no matter which game it is, will always remain in a piece of my heart ;D.
I got City Folk when I began summer school in between 8th and 9th grade. I would race home on my bike, 15 miles in the middle of the day. Dripping with sweat I'd walk into the house which sat at a cool 68 degrees and turned on my Wii and booted this up every day without fail. I still look back on it fondly and my wife and I played New Horizons often.
When I got this game in 2009, I had a long distance partner that I wanted to move in with. So I named the town Atlanta, because he was from Atlanta in the USA. I also did the custom floor pattern thing to make a little cosy spot for us to be together, just like I wanted to in real life. He was USA and I was Australia, and moving over never eventuated, we still love eachother though and I am so happy when he visits...
My dad used to have a wii before I was born. He gave it to me a couple years ago, along with the City Folk. I can't explain to you how amazing this game is. I was sick and could not play with them for a weer or two, they all worried about me, even rover. Almost cried ngl, they are all so sweet.

I love this playlist purely because I normally only played this game for like maybe 30 minutes a day as a kid, and it was almost always right when I came home from school. I didn’t hear the other songs all that much. I didn’t even know that there was a morning song for the city!

Big old story skip if you want I would play this when I was a little kid with my brother and we both could barely read so we had no clue what was happening most of the time other than key words and emotions, we accidentally named our city after my brother cause we just saw “name” and were like oh like our name, oops. Also we were terrified of resetii cause we didn’t know what he was saying and we forgot to save a LOT so we would just see some anger y mile at our front door and scream. I also dubbed Allie as my best friend, I had no clue what she was saying, she could insult me to my face and I’d be like “yep that’s my bestie” and then she MOVED I didn’t know villagers could do that and I legit cried. Years later my siblings and I found the game again but it had reset and so we made a new city and Allie was there! I was literally so happy and joked “looks like we found where she moved” This game was so comforting I wish I could go back to those days a lot
I think something similar happened to me once, and as much as it sucked to have my favorites move away I think it really made the game a bit more interesting and rewarding to meet them again! I wish i could also go back to those days!!!

I remember the times I played this amazing game on the Wii when I was Just a Kid. So many memories man, even though some People might say its not a good game, for me it is. Just because of the simple fact that it brings me so many good memories. Listening to its ost makes me so nostalgic. Animal Crossing, no matter which game it is, will always remain in a piece of my heart ;D.

I got City Folk when I began summer school in between 8th and 9th grade. I would race home on my bike, 15 miles in the middle of the day. Dripping with sweat I'd walk into the house which sat at a cool 68 degrees and turned on my Wii and booted this up every day without fail. I still look back on it fondly and my wife and I played New Horizons often.

When I got this game in 2009, I had a long distance partner that I wanted to move in with. So I named the town Atlanta, because he was from Atlanta in the USA. I also did the custom floor pattern thing to make a little cosy spot for us to be together, just like I wanted to in real life. He was USA and I was Australia, and moving over never eventuated, we still love eachother though and I am so happy when he visits...

My dad used to have a wii before I was born. He gave it to me a couple years ago, along with the City Folk. I can't explain to you how amazing this game is. I was sick and could not play with them for a weer or two, they all worried about me, even rover.

I love this playlist purely because I normally only played this game for like maybe 30 minutes a day as a kid, and it was almost always right when I came home from school. I didn’t hear the other songs all that much. I didn’t even know that there was a morning song for the city!

I would play this when I was a little kid with my brother and we both could barely read so we had no clue what was happening most of the time other than key words and emotions, we accidentally named our city after my brother cause we just saw “name” and were like oh like our name, oops. Also we were terrified of resetii cause we didn’t know what he was saying and we forgot to save a LOT so we would just see some anger y mile at our front door and scream. I also dubbed Allie as my best friend, I had no clue what she was saying, she could insult me to my face and I’d be like “yep that’s my bestie” and then she MOVED I didn’t know villagers could do that and I legit cried. Years later my siblings and I found the game again but it had reset and so we made a new city and Allie was there! I was literally so happy and joked “looks like we found where she moved”
This game was so comforting I wish I could go back to those days a lot
I think something similar happened to me once, and as much as it sucked to have my favorites move away I think it really made the game a bit more interesting and rewarding to meet them again! I wish i could also go back to those days!!!
