best game in the series! I miss animal crossing being a laid back game where you do what you like in a new community that moves along with or without you. I want more of this and less suburban development simulator please
I just bought City Folk, i needed it to finish off my collection. I have the other 4 but city folk. Is it a good game ir just ok like others say. I really want to like it and i love the music too
@@wi11ow8 I mean it’s all pretty subjective. It’s much more like the N64/ GameCube original than New Leaf or New Horizons. Things can happen in the game you have no control over, like where villagers move in and whether or not villagers choose to stay. You’re just another town folk living their life. To me that’s a lot more appealing, it makes the town feel more real to me. The villagers feel like they have real internal lives and autonomy, but others might not like that lack of control over what happens in their game. There’s less to do in terms of modeling your town and what not, but the villagers have way more personality and seem to have more dialogue. Ultimately it leads to what feels to me like a much more chill play experience where you’re just trying to relax in a woodsy backwater town with the occasional trip to the “city.” If you liked the vibe of the original animal crossing but wish it was a bit less low poly and had some of the now expected amenities like greater wardrobe space, bigger pockets, easier ways to make money, the ability to save from anywhere, and so on I think you’ll enjoy it quite a bit. And personally I don’t think any of the games have a better soundtrack or look cuter than city folk.
@@0mildoo wow man. Thank you! If you conpare it to Gamecube than ill think ill enjoy it as Gamecube always felt the chillest to me as in, theres not much to do that is really all that important, just running around doing what you want, i think i will like it. If its like wild world in higher quality and Fps to, this will be a fun game
If there's one thing I wish there was in the latest animal crossing, is the city plaza. it just feels so relaxing, strolling along the city atmosphere after getting a haircut at Harriett's barber shop
I never sat down and genuinely took a moment to evaluate how fast time is passing until now. For example, this game was released in 2009. When I realised that was 13 years ago I genuinely felt scared and depressed.
I get that Harv's island now fits the role of the city with the shops, but gosh I still want the city back again. I loved the atmosphere, and how there was different activity throughout the day, from the balloon guy to visitors from all over the place, to Gracie and Dr. Shrunk, etc. The city music is my favorite.
There's something incredibly calming about how minimal and predictable these tracks are. There's nothing special about them at face value. They're just small, simple, happy tunes. That's really what makes them so special.
Everytime I hear the 4 PM theme all that plays in the back of my mind is the stupid cicadas buzzing and chirping or making whatever noise they make during the spring/summer months because this was around the time I'd always hop on around after school. It's the same with the 12 PM noon theme as well for I'd always hop on during that time on the weekends after I finished whatever I was doing in the morning before I played games. It's a blessing to enjoy such music, but also a curse for the noise of them is just embedded in my mind 😔
I'm gonna be pretty sad if all the Animal Crossing games going forward have a full band playing the music. This stuff here just fits so much better in a slice-of-life, relaxing day kind of way.
I am crying, way to nostalgic :( I want to go back in the days where you just had your Wii set-up and then your mom and dad descide that you spent too much time on it and they hide your wii, but after a year you completely forget about it. When i listen to this music, those memories come back.. It was a good old time in 2009
What is up with parents forcing their child to give up a Wii? I had a friend who got their Wii sold because there parents thought they spent too much time on it.
Didn't grew up with nintendo nor having childhood memories playing Animal Crossing. But now in my highschool years, I just got myself a DS last year and a Wii this year. So happy to finally be able to play Animal Crossing, even it's not the latest one though.
Same. Currently, my first and only animal crossing game is this game, recently got it like a month ago. I love it. It's like my own little world in my Wii
i like new horizons much better as a game (especially with the 2.0 update), but there are definitely things i miss dearly about the old games i played as a kid. this music is one of them. city folk has the best music in the series. i also miss the old villager dialogue, as much as i love the dad-like personality of NH crankies, i miss when they used to roast you lol
nh is a low budget sims it lost the animal croissing feeling villagers aren’t something special anymore and you don’t really care about them because they have the same dialogue if you have 2 with the same personallity
Ah, the ultimate Animal Crossing Game... with New Horizons Graphics and improvements, New Leaf's vibes (with a spice of City Folk), and Wild World's quality villagers. I just want a beautiful game that immerses yourself into nature and a beautiful community, is that too much to ask? Animal Crossing isn't even about the community anymore. It's just God-playing with exhaustive restrictions and dolls to trade around.
I mainly played Wild World on the DS growing up which basically has a toned down version of this music but even I have to admit City Folk has better music
Why did they have to replace the music 😞is it just me or do others also miss all of the little mystery’s in animal crossing. Like that ally way with redd that you needed an invite to get into, and like the aliens. It made the game feel more like a small town and I loved that!
