"Xiang"(相) means Prime Minister, which was used to name the Minister in Han Dynasty. "He"（和） here means happy, joyous. "Ge"（歌） equals songs. They danced to this song and played the drums with feet.
It's pure Chinese~ The peom/song they are singing is before Qin dynasty. It's very long time ago. The costume they are wearing is somewhere around Qin dynasty. Japanese was not heavily influenced culturally until Tang dynasty, which was much later.

Was this a village dance? I'm asking because I don't see upper class Chinese girls and women with bound feet could dance this? It is a beautiful dance, and the music is wonderful.

这个舞蹈出自舞界元老孙颖之手，大名鼎鼎的《踏歌》也是他的作品，还有《楚腰》，听说他是根据古代壁画编排的舞蹈动作。
这支《相和歌》在北舞青年舞团的舞剧《铜雀伎》里见过，但舞蹈动作和服装道具变化很大，可能是为这届舞蹈大赛做的，相比下我更喜欢舞剧中的这支舞。
哈哈，毕竟是现代了。以后的复古舞创作，我还是很乐观的。孙老虽然走了，北舞还有他创建的汉唐古典舞系。
至于说受芭蕾舞影响，我觉得那是互相的。中国舞本身的强项是上半身动作，再加上芭蕾的腿部动作和双人舞，观赏性极强。虽然有人称这是艺术体操，但我很喜欢这样的舞蹈。

很奇怪，这个影响力为什么就不如踏歌呢？虽然难度比踏歌小，但比踏歌更优雅啊。。。难道人们都已习惯了显身段的舞蹈？传统舞蹈在气韵，不一定非要显难度。孙颖老师的复原都很好，比那些古典芭蕾好多了，但这个影响平平，怕是以后没人跳了吧，可惜。正统的汉代鼓舞。
因为鼓不好买，鼓舞不是一般鼓能跳的，普通人跳个舞花那么多钱，还不如跳踏歌啊。
