Picked it up today at Binny's on sale for $39.99. I have to say, it's really good, not as hot as some other higher proof bourbon is, I really like this.
We got Green River in Oklahoma a few months ago, I picked up the black label bourbon pretty quickly and I adore it. It's cherries on cherries on cherries, really great. I hope we get this soon, I'm dying to try it

I just picked up a bottle in the KC area for $39.99. I can’t wait to try it. The guy at the liquor store said it’s one of his favorites.
I picked this one up today. It is by far my favorite Green River bottle, even better than the best single barrel or cask strength single barrel I have had!
Just bought a bottle this week in Dallas Tx for 47.99. I have to agree with the tasting notes. Getting alot of spice with a kick of citrus, vanilla, caramel and a bit of mint, barrel char and maybe some dark fruit. Really good for the price. Will def buy again!
Green River is doing a great job with different releases, really like the full proof, nice complexity, sweetness, and spice, a definite rebuy
As far as similarly proofed and relatively similar price point that everybody should be able to get, the two bottles that come to mind to put it up against are Rare Breed and 1920. They are all within a couple proof points of each other and within $10. Can’t wait til I see this one hit the shelves!

I've only had the GR single barrel before but I'm really impressed with it so far after 3-4 pours. I'm going to pick this up once I find it. Rare breed is usually my go to barrel proofer and it's actually just a smidge cheaper than this where I'm at in upstate NY, but I'm always looking to try new stuff.

Saw last weekend at a market in MI a Single Barrel Full Proof store pick at 59.99. Age statement 6.5 years.

Awesome review as always. This Definitely needs to be compared to Rare Breed Barrel Proof and if you have one of the higher rye recipe options from Four Roses Barrel Strength!

I have not been a fan of Green River bourbon and wheated. But like cask strength so will probably get one to try. Friends can always drink it as they like it well enough
This is a really good whiskey. Nothing crazy, but just a really tasty higher proof whiskey.

I think Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered would be a good third bottle for that Triple Bass.

I come to notice that 7yr is like my sweet spot. I’m not a fan of bourbon aged too long. I noticed all my bottles that I like the most are 7 yrs old mark with the exception of my Balcones which I like also but it’s only aged 2 years but taste 4-6.
Green River is killing it. Love the price great flavor. Interesting to blind it against Rare Breed

I picked up a Green River Full proof "single barrel" store select when I was in Dallas. I must say that I found it to be harsh. Yes, it's 119 proof so I expect strength but most JD-SBBS drink a lot smoother than the Green River, IMO. Maybe the generic Full Proof will be better than my store pick?
It's possible. A couple of the single barrels so drink harsher than others do it depends.

Just pitted it against WT Rare Breed… WT beats it on every level. But, I don’t regret buying the bottle. It’s a fine bourbon.

Spoiler alert 🚨 The Elijah Craig 130.6 Barrel Proof B524 is fire 🔥. The best barrel I’ve had yet.
What Elijah Craig BP was 8-9 years old? They’ve all been 11+ years.
I feel like “full proof” is the wrong term on the label. Doesn’t that typically mean proofed down to what it entered the barrel at? Their site says this is “barrel proof”.
There isn't any legal distinction. Historically full proof has been entry proof but it doesn't necessarily have to be.
this is what i've been wondering ever since they dropped the label. Jason, thx for answering. That's the best conclusion I could come to as well, but I still think it's just a stupid thing to do, with the de facto standard set in the market by other brands. Why not just say barrel proof. I know it's kinda nit picky but I can't seem to let it go! 😂🤦♂🤷♂
unless it's not really barrel proof. I'm guessing it's not. I've seen some barrel proofs drop and they're all between 120-130.
@@bryanmacke I am with you on this. "Full Proof" has been understood to mean "barrel entry proof" for a long time, so this seems deliberately confusing.
@@bryanmacke Green River's website says that the Full Proof "is a small batch of select barrels, blended and bottled at barrel strength." (So why not call it "barrel strength" instead of "Full Proof?"

They didn't go with barrel entry proof as "full proof," eh?
Full proof is barrel entry proof. Full proofs are cut back to barrel entry proof as opposed to cask strengths and barrel proofs are not cut back. Thats why full proofs (like weller full proof) are typically always the same proof on every release, but cask strength and barrel proof, like eh taylor barrel proof, vary by release. Rare breed is the only barrel proof i can think of that is always the same proof, and green river full proof is the only full proof ive seen that varies. There may be others, but those are the only ones i can think of off the top of my head. But yea, full proofs are cut back to barrel entry, and cask strength and barrel proof are as it comes out the barrel
@@jacksmith2315 I'm aware. He said the proofs for different batches will vary, which means that they're not bringing it back to entry proof. (Hence why I thought it was curious that they weren't using the term as we'd normally think of it.) It sounds like it's more of a "batch proof."

Triple bass asap... MMCS even though it's 15 dollars cheaper, MM46CS is more on par with 50 to 55 bucks, 1792 FP.. Quadruple bass

I never gave Green River a try, judging it by the low price (which is stupid, I know). And now I’ve moved to a state where it’s just not on the shelves🫤.
