Burro pass 11,200 ft. Heading out to brekenridge in August! Looks killer! I’m from the low lands east coast Connecticut so I will be doing the lift assist trails first. Ending up in crested butte by the end of the week, hopefully be a little bit acclimated by then. Great vid!
I ran this trail with my doggo a few years back and he got drilled by a porcupine. I pulled out the quills and he finished the run. He's a boss. I'll be riding this in a few weeks.
That looks familiar. A few years back we used to (annually) ride a trail through Breckinridge that my friends called Peak 7/Wheeler Pass that looked something like this. We would park in Frisco. Ride Peaks trail to Breckinridge. Climb Peak 7. Drop over into the Copper mountain side. Climb again up over the (10 mile) ridge. And drop back down into Frisco. Anyhow, some of this single track looks like sections that we rode. I remember how much more fatiguing it was to climb once you hit tree line. And you still had a lot of climbing at that point. I also remember that there were always intermittent rain showers and lightning strikes up there by late afternoon. Very exposed country. So you guys picked a great, clear day to ride there.
Rainbow Lake looking extra crowded! The tourists always look so confused when a bike rolls through there 😂 Love seeing my (and your) backyard trails....was wondering what this looked like via bike, might have to give er a go before the season is up. I’ll be pushing my bike a lot more though!
another sick one! i must say, i thoroughly enjoy living on the same block as zach's stop. scummit tip for visitors, use public transportation to help you with shuttling. options for days.
Best mtb channel in the net, beyond reasonable doubt. You are setting standards here man! Greatly appreciated. This thing should have millions of views. Keep em coming old boy!
Good to see those trails haven't been sanitized one bit! On a side note, I've only ever ridden Wheeler->Miners Creek on a hardtail. Going back to my Revenge training days. Great work Nate!
I've ridden that the opposite way, Peaks Up Miner's Creek, then down the Wheeler all the way to Copper Mountain. That's a whip to ride up. Looks more fun this way. But the descent to Copper put huge perma-grin on my face!
I started an all day ride a few years ago in Keystone Ranch to CO Trail up Gold Hill side. Hike a bike (too much) up between peaks 3-4 to Wheeler. Wheeler down to Burro then bike path to Swan Rd back to trail head. It was about 10 hours and I like your version better :)
Hoping to do Monarch Crest in August. Highest was probably 2 yrs ago in Bend on Skyline, OR on the North Umpqua. Nate we need a VAN Check!!! Start of the video I see a ceiling and storage cabinets. LOL Sure looks more comfortable than a year ago for trips. Great vid as always!!
Nate Hills and thank you for the videos! I've just started playing with making a couple of videos, nothing serious. But I can appreciate the effort that goes in! Mine are super basic but it still takes me forever to get them uploaded haha
Luuuv the van fit out! tiled splash back.... timber roof could possibly double up as a sauna overhead cupboards, even a floor rug, and most important of all gods gift to help you kick start the day...a coffee machine!!!. oh the video was awesome as well was you on the 5.5 as I noticed the forks had been changed? cheers Nate
For sure, coming from 1000 feet and 95 degrees here to your world is a big difference. I feel pretty good usually up to about 8-9000, but over that I can really feel it. Wish I could spend about a month out there to really get acclimated.
Stunning. I rode the Peaks Trail about 18 years ago (not *quite* that fast though :-) ). Breck's at about 9000' right? What altitude did you reach on that climb up Miners Creek? #CanYouEvenBreathBro
Any tips on route? would be greatly reatly appreciated, did you start at wheeler to minors creek to peaks trail back to town? Awsome riding like always.
I did it with ways this week. You can park in Frisco and ride to Copper and then up the CT to Miners, to Frisco, or you can leave a car in Frisco and shuttle up Peak 9 as far as possible.
Just arrived in Dillon for a few days and looking to ride this trail (but avoid strenuous climbing) I couldn't figure this out from the map, how to go from overlook restaurant to the trail ? Via another trail ? (Wheeler?)
I have never actually been mountainbiking or had a proper bike before. I really want one for a year now, but i don´t live next to a bikepark or mountain. I do have talent for things like thiis i just know that much. But i suffer from hesitating because its so much money. I m eyeballing a 3000€ bike. Should i get it, or is this too crazy?
What is the highest trail you have ridden? This one tops out at 12,510ft above the ocean.
The monarch crest trail
Jones pass...same ride you did, snow climb up n over, all the way to the flag and out via valley...f'n awesome ride!
Mnt lincoln... 14,200 or something close

Dude, those are difficult trails and you guys made them look so easy. Well done.
Apart from just bombing down hills which is a blast, it's nice to see the amazing places mountain bikes can bring us. Great video kid! Cheers!
Love Follow Cam Friday. Epic alpine rides. Love the fact you show the climbing, can't shuttle everything.
proper Rocky Mountain trail if I've ever seen one .... just amazing riding right there
That turn at 4:41 is death and ya'll just make it look like a walk in the park.
Breathtaking view, I'm amazed! Good seeing another excellent video Nate!
Another sick edit bro! Jealous of those trails and of those clean gloves! 🤙🏼
Michael Jackson approved ;)
This is the type of riding I would love to do all the time. The highest trail I have rode my bike was just over 11,000ft.
Awesome riding you guys! Colorado is amazing
Best mtb content on YT. Helping me stay somewhat sane while I recover from a bad smeash.
Heal up Alex! Thanks for watching!
Love the high alpine riding
I'll be riding this fully loaded in 3 weeks. Or more accurately pushing my bike up this in 3 weeks. Thanks for getting me stoked!

good ride Nate !! I like the videos 4K👍
Best mtb channel in the net, beyond reasonable doubt. You are setting standards here man! Greatly appreciated. This thing should have millions of views. Keep em coming old boy!
Thanks for the kind words GT!
Don't know how you ride so well in the thin air. I could hardly walk in Colorado without getting winded. 👊
I live at 9K so this is my zone. The body adapts after some time here. Thanks for watching!
Your Vanlife Coffee Game is on point! Is that a beer tap too?!
It's a soda stream actually....
Right now it is too hot to ride in SoCal so instead I am watching Nate!
Good to see those trails haven't been sanitized one bit! On a side note, I've only ever ridden Wheeler->Miners Creek on a hardtail. Going back to my Revenge training days. Great work Nate!
My max elevation change was 1185ft. but just here in TX. Great vid and awesome views man living the dream. #mtb #livingthedream

This is the preferred way but the descent to Copper is legendary as well.
That is some serious altitude. Trees can't even survive at that altitude.
Whaou, very good trail!!😃🤘
I love starting that ride over near quandary and beginning at the start of wheeler. A little extra downhill thru the trees before the big climb
I need to try starting from there. I've never ridden that section.
It's got really nice flow in yhe wheeler section. Before the drop into burrow trail.
Nice. Pumped to up in Breck tomorrow now!
Slippery looking speed bumps near the 7 minute mark. ;-)
Looks like ice axes not required this time 😀. You two were rippin' it 🤘🚲🍺
Bummer about the low snow year... I prefer to glissade.

Ive done that loop. It hurts.... Strong work!
This version plus the older version are in my top 10 favorite Hills videos! Next time its going to have to be Pacific Peak + Miners Creek! lol
Beautiful scenery.
Love me some alpine at Breck!!
Nice climbs there.
Might time to a Van Build showing, the van looks very cool!
Looks chunky! I like it.
Just perfect.
Love it up there. To make it really fun, start at wheeler south out of McCullough gulch. Next time you’re in town let’s do it!

Love me some Monarch!
That was so sick. Just a little jaunt on top of the world! Rode up to the top of Elk Camp on Snowmass. Probably around 11,800.
Nice Kris, Elk Camp is sweet! I'll be there in a few weeks.
BME race there? This was back in the 80's I did this. Used to ride up to the restaurant almost every day. Ah, to be young and in shape again.
That looks so cool! nice riding, subbed :)
Welcome friend. Thanks for watching.
Nate Hills and thank you for the videos! I've just started playing with making a couple of videos, nothing serious. But I can appreciate the effort that goes in! Mine are super basic but it still takes me forever to get them uploaded haha
What a view!

THAT is mountainbike! :)
Anyone interested in riding this trail this week or other local trails ? I'm in town for a few days. Thanks.
Nate, how about a short video tour of the tricked out van?
Nate excelent Trail Mam, show image thanks for video 🇧🇷😎
very good.
Fantastic video. Stunning views. How was the air at the top? Last time I was at that elevation it sucked.
Feels normal to me. If you aren't used to this sort of thing, it will hurt for sure, lol.

Breck is about 9,600 and the top is about 12,500.
Ouch.
Buen video👌🏻👌🏻❤️
Love it, thanks! What's the DJ Quads tune please?
At the Hop, thanks me!
Resourceful fellow, Doug.
Any route tips? Would be appreciated, awsome riding, like always. Did you star at wheeler, to minors creek to peaks back to town?
Shuck 'n' jive up high.
Be their soon, not sure of route yet but thinking minors creek is a must, going to be tough on this flat laneder...
You got this.
Neil, I'm in town for a few days , not sure what your timeline is but if our schedules overlap, want to ride together?
Dieterbe, Yo, hows it going? I'm probably going to ride on sat 18, not sure if that falls when your in town? Let me know thanks.
Neil Martin 18 August? Unfortunately no. I arrived yesterday and will leave July 30. Thanks for the response though.
Dieterbe, ya sorry. have fun...
Do you have any tips for recording MTB trails? I have a gimbal and a gopro but was wondering if you had any other secrets
So Awesome.. where's the Trailhead for this?
We started in Breckenridge. This is on Trailforks if you are interested.
awesome dude
was the burn area on this segment from a burn off or was it bush fire damaged

You can climb up Burro trail to wheelers as well, pretty nice mellow climb till you reach wheelers.
I think Dylan s way ... get some extra fun downhill thru the forest on wheeler.
Good to see super humans push there bikes to.
Great
Wowرائعة
Nare Hills: Are you still around to answer some "new to altitude{ questions? Thank you in advance for even reading this question. - dlw
Drink more water than you can handle.
did you peddle from Brecks base to the top of the trail?!?!
We shuttled up 9.
did a lot of skiing there, the biking looks sick..
also vid quality is off the hook.. got love fridays!!
How far up Peak 9 were you able to drive?
they got off at the overlook restaurant ;) i saw them when i got up to there
Just arrived in Dillon for a few days and looking to ride this trail (but avoid strenuous climbing)
I couldn't figure this out from the map, how to go from overlook restaurant to the trail ? Via another trail ? (Wheeler?)
Bike prolly cost more than the mini van.
For sure it does. Priorities! ha
For sure it does. Priorities! ha
Nate, where did you park to start this ride?
We parked on Peak 9 and shuttled the first part of the road climb.
I'm wondering, can anyone recommend some great "hike-a-bike" clipless shoes?
I run specialized 2FO cliplite's.
Awesome, thanks!
Check out the Northwave Enduro Mid. They have great traction off the bike and on the pedals. Stoked with mine.
Yes, Northwave is also on my list of possible shoes! Thanks, glad to know you like them.
Fiveten has a comfortable clipless as well
For your next song do button up by odd chap
I'm 50k mountain bro. Wow from 🇮🇩
👌😌❤️
Elic 👍👍👍
Epic 👍👍👍
hi, what's maximum speed?
Maybe 30mph?
I have never actually been mountainbiking or had a proper bike before. I really want one for a year now, but i don´t live next to a bikepark or mountain. Do it. Bikes are expensive but the experience is priceless.
Ture, and i can pay it in little parts.
wait, who doesn't do 4K these days? :P
Hardly anyone shoots in 4K due to the storage nightmare. I have never posted a video not in 4K.... All I know
It is not a big deal but it would be nice to know who you are following.
By the way.... Unbelievable!
Every video I have ever produced has the riders name in the opening credits. This is Tom Sampson. Thanks for watching.
Sorry I am new to the channel. Cool vids!
No worries man, welcome! Its always important for me to credit the rider because without my friends, I would have nothing.
