Coal Operations at Bethlehem Steel

Thanks to my new drone, I was finally able document a rarely seen operation in the Buffalo, NY area! After coming into town earlier in the week, CSX loaded unit coal train C616 was handed over to the South Buffalo Railroad before being cut up and moved to the section of the shuttered steel mill where the byproducts plant, coke oven batteries, slag pits, and coal storage were once located. From there, an ex-South Buffalo SW1 was used to push the cuts of coal hoppers into the rotary dumper, where the coal will be stockpiled before being loaded onto ships bound for Stelco's Hamilton Works in Hamilton, Ontario Canada!
