Tried this recipe yesterday, it’s extremely good! Super sweet at first and then you get the subtle heat coming afterward. I made pulled pork and use this as the dressing, and gave some of the sandwiches to my Mexican coworkers. They loved the sauce as well. Said it reminded them of Mexican candy.
Cherries make a nice addition to BBQ sauces. I have a base recipie I use but with dried/smoked peppers instead of powders. I just made a batch with a some h9ney for a sweeter profile. Going to make another revised version for next week NFL wild card weekend on Sunday and test them against some buffalo sauce.
Look at the gorgeous color I love the look of this Cherry Chipotle Barbecue Sauce it's just all about those glorious cherries I would happily smother almost anything in this wonderful sauce and dance my way to flavor town WOOHOO magnificent cooking once again on The Sauce and Gravy Channel😋👍
There's a place called Killen's BBQ here in Houston, and they have a higher end restaurant they just call Killens, where the focus is more on dinner dishes like steak and pork chops, although they do serve some BBQ dishes. One of the things they serve is a pork belly dish with an AMAZING cherry glaze that after tasting it over and over again is very similar to this sauce recipe. I think the only difference besides an ingredient or two is that they cook the juice out of the cherries then run/press it through a fine mesh strainer and/or a cheesecloth. It's a lighter and stickier version of what I've seen here but I'll bet they taste very similar.

For how long you can hold this sauce?
Because it has fresh cherries it will last roughly a week in the refrigerator. If you try it let me know what you think. Thanks for watching!!
