This album came out when i was 18 y.o and i remember listening to it daily while i was living away and working my first summer job in the north of norway. I thought it was the most incredible piece of music back then and listening to it with you now really brought me back. Thanks.
Zilla's verse on Vengeance is so hard, i always turn my speaker up when he comes in. the aggression in his voice and the cadence really make his part my favorite verse on the album and made me check out his other stuff which i really like. and he fits the vibe of the song perfectly. denzel and zilla also released other song with powers pleasent and both songs really show their synergy, they are like "evil twins" :^)

Loved the reaction! While I prefer Melt My Eyez, this album is a close second for me when it comes to Denzel's work. As to the separation of the track list into three, Denzel has said in some interviews that the sections were made separately and when he was in very different moods. If I recall correctly, "Dark" (part 3) was made first, when Denzel was, well, in a dark, depressed, angry mood. "Grey" (p.2) sort of represents him reflecting on why he feels a certain way, starting to actually try and deal with his emotions. "Light" was made last, with Denzel in a better place emotionally; still very conscious of the things haunting him, but, as a track like "Black Balloons" shows, somewhat hopeful that he can overcome them. In that context, I actually really like your interpretation of "Super Saiyan Superman", where he is channeling his anger into something productive.

Its honestly really difficult to decide what song on this album would be my favorite. Sumo is 100% up there and you were absolutely right when you said the crowds go nuts for that song. The MME/SYF concert was one of the best I have been too. Great video, you don't miss.

Unlocked! Kenny Beats x Denzel. It's more experimental and less of a concept album, so you can listen to it without needing to analyze the message/theme and moreso the production and lyricism. Also, there's a music video they made with the entire album that reminds me of something out of adult swim.
Ta13oo was an album that really expanded my music taste by a lot and it’s something that marked the start of my high school life, I listened to this album again after 3 years and the first two tracks just gave me so much nostalgia, beautiful album I love Denzel curry. Vengeance my fav track right now🙏🏽
I think in the grand scheme of things the Peep line doesn't hit as hard because drug culture continues to take. When this came out I remember numerous rappers I listened to talking about how they were going to get sober and how we need to promote it. Then barely months later all that talk was gone and people were back to the same cycle. I remember it hitting hard at the time, but the list of names lost to drugs unfortunately washes over everything like a tidal wave. Love the reaction, this album has always been super important to me. PERCS will never fail to get me hyped up.

If you're going through Denzel's music you should listen to Imperial next (after listening to Imperial i recommend you listening to one track that got cut off from streaming version of the album called Pure Enough, which is one of his best songs). If you get into his music there are also Zuu and UNLOCKED (additionally a mixtape Blood in Blood out which is only available on TH-cam).
