@@ousamaachahbar3801 As soon as the bulbs are connected with the hue bridge, you can do anything with them that you could do with an original hue light bulb. (Razer Synapse for example, which is what I use them for). Sadly, I do not know if Philips Hue supports HomeKit since I'm an android user, but I'm pretty sure they support it.
I have tried the Lidl app, works as intended, but would like to move to Smart Life. It won't detect the gw, despite being the same conditions as when Lidl app works, phone on the WIFI network of the router wired to the LIdl Zigbee gw. I've pressed the hidden reset switch on the gw, and the green lights are flashing. Auto scan fails to detect anything, and I've tried one by one adding all the available gw's. Can anyone suggest anything?
That is strange, I would make sure that the gateway is definitely being reset. Lidl app is just a clone of Smart Life app, they both connect to the same server, so you should not have a problem adding it into Smart Life.
Great review. But what about power cycle (power off/power on) of bulbs with regular switch? Do they remember last state (color and brightness) or do they reset to defaults?
I know I'm pretty late seeing when this video was uploaded (great video btw!). I'm curious about whether it's possible to add other Tuya Zigbee devices (specifically temperature/humidity sensors, bulbs from other Tuya manufacturers, flood sensors) to the Lidl Gateway or if I'm locked to the stuff that Lidl sells.
Yes, the Lidl Zigbee Gateway works with the Smart Life (basically the Lidl smart home app is a clone of the Tuya app), so by using Smart Life or the TuyaSmart app, you can add any Tuya sensor that is supported by the App.
@@zoltar99 I assume you would need to add the LIDL Zigbee Gateway to the Smart Life app first right? If so, how to best do this? I'm not being successful in this at the moment.
According to the information on the box the devices came with, the bulbs only work with Google Assistant. I will do a test later today with my Echo Dot. I am mainly a Google Assistant user, but since you asked I will check, unless someone else has already done it and can confirm it.

Hue bridge picks up the lidl bulbs no problem. Impressive considering the price. Only issue is that the colour settings are very dim compared to the hue bulbs.

I hooked up 4 of the RGB LIDL GU10 to the Hue Hub V2 in seconds. no resetting or anything.

Yes you will need a zigbee gateway to control it.

Excellent observation, I can confirm that they do remember last state, both color and brightness are preserved.
