    Hey guys! What’s going on? It’s Nikole from Dogo Argentino USA and in today’s episode I am going to talk about the price of a Dogo Argentino. I am frequently asked what is a fair price to pay for a Dogo Argentino dog and to be honest this type of question is so much more complex than the person asking for an answer usually knows.
    Asking how much you should pay for your Dogo is a bit like asking how much you should spend on an engagement ring. For some people the answer is “as little as possible” and for others “the sky’s the limit”. The problem with giving a solid answer to how much you should spend on your Dogo Argentino puppy is that so many factors come into play that it’s basically impossible to answer accurately because I don’t personally know you, your family, your purpose in acquiring the dog and anything about the Dogo candidate itself.
    So instead of telling you what you gotta spend, I’m going to talk about what I would spend on a Dogo Argentino and why. I will discuss various prices I’ve been quoted by active Dogo Argentino dog breeders without naming names at home in the US and abroad as well as discuss what I personally charge for puppies I personally breed. I want you to know your mileage may vary!

    I got my Dogo free. A customer had 2 and I said if that cute little pit bull ever needs a home I would take him. 2 weeks later I got the all they were moving and he is now with me a year later. I do door dash he rides along daily. I honestly could not as for a better work partner. Imagine a dog that can be in the car 12-36 hours straight (we do long runs a couple times a month) and is calm until he is able to go for a run (he takes these every couple hours not always at my choice) yet when I am ready to start delivering he is ready to go.
    He has 0 aggression towards animals or humans other than to play. I will not say this is a perfect breed but I can say I got the perfect dog. I credit a lot of his personality to how he was raised. He knows when it is time to play and when it is time to work. I am glad you have a channel here telling more people about the breed.

      @1fnjo790 LMAO You are so right. He destroyed a couch, a Cat collar from a Cat that had recently passed away (He actually caught an emotional ass whooping over that 1), 2 prs of shoes.
      On the other hand He can go Doordashing all day and not eat until after 9PM and not even go as far as to sniff a bag of food. Please note he lives on Ii n Out Burgers and Carne Asada Burritios 3 weeks a month. When we are home he has all his meals cooked for him.

    I had a Doberman that's not from a reputable breeder, and I saw a huge difference when I saw a dobe from a famous breeder.
    I found a very reputable dogo breeder, and for companion purpose the pups were 3,500. I think it's reasonable knowing how much the breeder tries hard to perfect the breed. Even after you buy the pup, there are many requirements you need to meet if you don't want your dog taken away at your expense.
    Maybe it's where I'm located but I found it common that really reputable breeders with proven quality usually charge 3,500 to 4,500 for a companion dog.

    beautiful dogs.. I am absolutely in love with them.. and I love your channel.
    Guess we in Europe / Balkans are lucky because here Dogo Argentinos are rare, people dont know much about them ,, and they are cheap because people dislike them for whatever reason. Most of dogs here are German Shepherds, Ilryan Shepherds, Tornjak etc.. Im getting a Dogo hopefully spring - summer 2021. The cost here is 150-200$ so I guess people disliking them is the only good side here because they are cheap. I belive people here will understand what these beautiful dogs are and they will be more common here hence their price will rise so I better buy one before It gets expensive.. lol jk

    I was called by my rescue, and took 2 of these guys, 8month old boys from the same litter. The owner, just couldn’t get ahold of them, she didn’t have time to properly socialize, she should have never been allowed to purchase them, but anyway, they where really aggressive, not their fault, year later lord of attention, they fit right in with the rest of mine. But they should not be owned by a person who don’t have time, they have a high prey drive a lot of energy.

      I definitely agree. Unfortunately, there is an absolute tsunami of DogoArgentinos surrenders based on their just getting into Akc a few years ago. That introduced more people to them. People fell in love with their looks and don’t realize that puppies personality isn’t an adult personality. Once they hit puberty, they surrender it’s horrible.

    Dogos should only be sold by contract to pre-approved owners. Too many people want a Dogo and don’t even know how much of a responsibility they are. Once you have one of these beautiful creations, please make sure they are secure in their environment. Enough incidents and we will surely get banned. Pre approved owners only. Actually, I am interested in having a dogo. I am planning to go for a female instead of a male dogo. Since females are more adjusting less stubborn than males.
    I want my dogo to be a loving companion and a family guardian. I dont want to hunt with her.
    Can you please tell me if I dont intend to breed my dogo but keep her intact, will that cause health issues like false pregnancy etc? Or is the spay mandatory in such case? I have read about the ovary sparing spay.
    I need your help and expertise here to make the right decision. I have had male labradors but this will be my first female dogo, so trying to learn.

However we are a family with the kids (4&6years) and we are looking for protecting dog. However my wife runs a lot early morning. So we want a dog which can run together with her and also can protect her if needed. My wife runs 4 to 5 times per week. The distance very from 5km(4m) up to 15km (8m) on the weekend at the pace of 10 km/h (4,5m/h). Which one will suits more? I have a feeling that dogo will be the best option but can he handel the run (of course when he fully grown) Thanks for the feedback.

    • @DogoArgentinoUSA
      @DogoArgentinoUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      AKC= American Kennel Club. UKC=United Kennel Club. FKC=Frederiction Kennel Club. These are various dog registries which keep track of purebreds through various generations. There is not a better or worse option; merely different. In order of general recognition by the uneducated public AKC is most recognized and FKC is least but popularity isn’t everything.

    • @DogoArgentinoUSA
      @DogoArgentinoUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well I’d say that’s an unusual price - similar to an adoption fee at a shelter - which makes me wonder why it is that price. Example; BAER test $100; vaccines 2 rounds if administered by a vet $280; final wellness check and vet certification $150; food $75; dewormer $120 for three rounds; AKC litter registration ($35 split by the number of pups); pup supplies (toys, bedding $25); absorbent cedar litter $20; microchip $80; goats milk $20; collar $2; pedigree $45; gas expense $20; endless hours missing work, cleaning, training, socializing and caring for a litter - priceless. At $350 I imagine that it’s a back yard breeder or not pedigreed at all.

    Lmfao, rehoming and adopting is 2 different things and breeders need to stop putting "small rehoming fee" then say 1k +... I have grown up with all kinds of dogs, rehoming fee should be up to 150$ if at all because you want the animal to go to a good home. 300- 350 is a decent adoption fee up to 1k... 3k+ for an untrained and possibly def animal is a joke. So happy I got my dogo for 600$... now ill pay 2k for the belgian malinois that is papered and completely trained and can go to combat with me.

    I don't like small males. 110-118 is perfect. Why are people breeding dogs that looks so weak. No muscle definition. Small jaws. This is why I sometimes have a love/hate relationship with AKC or UKC. When this breed was created it was created for one purpose. To catch. Now these dogs are getting to the States and looking like Dalmatians. Let's talk facts. So to me to buy a breed that is specifically for Hunting. That's all it was made for is disgusting to have it as a Show dog. Show me what your dogo can do? Can it work? And I wrong for talking like this. It isn't just this breed.

      They actually very significantly from an American pitbull terrier. The shape of the skull is different. The shape of the I socket is different the geometry between the spine the front legs and the back legs are different. The overall weight is different. You just need to know the formal breed standard for both and then you can compare each and see where the differences lie the commonalities that they are both bully breeds.

      True. The problem in America is the term pit bull gets thrown onto all those type dogs, cane Corso, Staffordshire bulls & staffordshire terriers, american pitbull terriers and american bullys. I dont even like referring to my Red Noses as Pits because of there stigma
