I've watched tons of arborist videos and that's how a lot of them carry it. Boomjekappen for example. Why would it take off 'chunks of arms' if you're not touching the trigger and it's on the chain brake?
That was my first thought! Everything looks so slick and fancy in the rest of the ad too...some useful gear on display...but one handing a chainsaw really shows you how little actual “production” tree work petzl understands
I am a new recreational tree climber and I can’t get enough gear I love climbing. I just about have 2 of everything. Getting an Akimbo soon. Have 2 Rope Wrenches now. Dropped about $4,000 on gear n ropes in the last few Months. I have 0 training and from watching videos, practicing knot tying and going low n slow I now sleep in the tree canopy 80 feet high!!!
Chainsaw clipped in high and horizontal is a sure way to take chunks of arm off on the chain.

Petzl Rig? (Also known as a “Descender” product #: D021AA01). That’s what we use to self-belay while setting climbing routes.
