Hey guys, just picked up my new Triton today and only purchased it because Mitsubishi told me they were about to release a software fix that scales down the sensitivity of the monitoring system. Well, apparently, I am the first one to receive this, and I must admit it is pretty bloody good. Did a lot of miles, and the only time it was annoying was driving with one arm at 12 o' clock as this covers the device from seeing your face. Apart from that, I was very impressed. Go see Mitsubishi and get the upgrade. We'll worth it. Not sure if they are charging for it. They didn't for me! Cheers, Dan

@@user-dy3jl3uy6p the software update released two days ago and it’s totally free. Won’t cancel it permanently though. Increasing the time of monitoring from 3 seconds to 6 seconds when the engine is idle. As far as I know.

Hi @PrimeTechauto , it's not when the engine is idle from what I am experiencing. It's while driving. I have since spoken to a few people who have had this update and they all say it is so much better. Still can't turn it off permanently though as you say. Cheers!

@@user-dy3jl3uy6p ah ok… I’m getting done mine next week sometimes. Yeah few people said it’s so much better. I know it’s annoying sometimes when it’s goes off every time you turn your head. Even checking mirrors. I don’t think they will release any update for permanent delete. Cheers

@PrimeTechauto Yep, Mitsubishi said they won't be enabling a complete turn-off as this would affect their uncap safety rating. You would think that some auto electrician will come up with a shutoff workaround sooner or later. I just wonder how this would affect your insurance if you were to have a serious accident ?

@@user-dy3jl3uy6p I don’t think we have a law in Australia to take the data out from the car to use for insurance purposes. Even theres a black box in the car. (Similar a to data event recorder) but sooner will be. Some other countries using the DMS system as an evidence when accidents occur.
Even deleting shouldn’t be hard if anyone with programming knowledges. Because , you know that we already have dpf or egr delete from engine ECU.

Yeah but you have to do it every single time you start the car. Such a stupid feature..

Yeah, that's the bad side of it. this is so annoying when you wear sunglasses. if it's too dark. this warning goes off so annoyingly. in future this feature going to use on many products.

      - social media censorship
      - forced injections

I had a brand new generation triton as a loaner while my Silverado was being delivered and all i can say is the monitoring system is nothing but a huge pain in the arse ! Its way more distracting than using a phone while driving !!!!

Yeah Tru. They should have locate this camera in a A pillar, but you will see this monitoring system for all the cars coming to Australia in future, as a part of a ANCAP. And also I assume insurance companies will use the data in near future (if they bring up a law)
