My friend try wearing a fabric jacket that doesn't rustle loud on your mic lol.... I've noticed it before in your vids. Check the 6:00 mark when you said lets check the noise difference between clubs and all you hear is your loud jacket haha.... love channel Andy keep it up!
Just bought a set. 180 yard carry with 7 irons. Was playing AP2s with weaker standard lofts. I love playing a fade with these because I can hit a 170 fade with a 7 iron….whereas with my AP2’s I had to hit a 5 iron fade for a 170 fade. And it was a lot smaller head and no where near as forgiving. If I fade a 7 iron AP2..it would go 150….160 with standard shot..straight/baby draw. The p790 spin rates are good for the loft on them. Don’t look at the head number….the 7 iron is really a 5 iron loft….so spinning it 5-6 thousand isn’t bad at all for a distance iron at all.

Love my P790 model 2019. Best golf clubs I ever had. Played for 30+ years. I want the extra forgiveness and length without sacrificing the look. I’m a scratch player but why make I harder when this type of club exists. Great video by the way! 👍
Getting fitted for a set this week. Been golfing for over 40 years never been fitted for a set it's time and looking at the reviews and specs. Who they were designed for the P790 fit my game and what I need. I have a high flight and I'm not very long iron player. Not looking to gain yards cuz I beat players that out drive me by 50 yards but if I gain 10 15 maybe I'll spank em harder! Great review ty sir
I changed to these from a set of M5s, not sure I’m happy with them, I only play occasionally so haven’t used them a lot but I’m finding them inconsistent and very hard to move the ball in the air, Sometimes for example the 8 iron will fly off the face and go over 170 yards, other times it won’t go and almost feels like a 9 iron but there’s no reason for it, (my M5 8 iron would be a consistent 165 with a draw) you’d put a good swing on these a nice strike but the results isn’t consistent I just find it very strange, obviously I’m comparing off a good lie no wind that would effect them, Also my natural shot is a high draw but with these it tends to stay straight and if I try fade it it’s the same but again inconsistent ball flight when strike lie swing are all similar, Anyone else find this

I'll stick with my Hogan Apex Edge Pros....can't justify playing $1k for new irons. I'm sure they're really nice. Nothing beats a pured Hogan forged iron IMO

I have always liked the P790 irons but these are definitely better looking than the old version. However, if I was buying clubs to replace my i210s I would, like Andy, probably start with the P770s but maybe blend and replace the 5i & 6i with the equivalent lofts in the P790
Same question especially after Andy's great review of PXGs - I picked up a 6 7 iron of the 0311XF and I am a bit disappointed in feel I have 0211ST in 8,9 and they feel and play great! Yes I know they are pure forged. Wonder of the 0311P feel and sound better since they seem more compact. I would love to see a review of 2021 P790 / PXG Gen4 0311P and the new Titliest T200 or T100S Especially with respect to feel sound and workability.
Only reason I ask if at fitting my swing path is neutral but face 6 deg closed to path . Good contact . With t200 neutral path and 1 deg closed to square . More neutral flight but not as good contact
How do club manufacturers get away with calling hollow bodied clubs forged, we the consumers are not that stupid or are we. Maybe its's a way for them to justify the ridiculous price hikes every year.

This guy is not your average golfer by any means. Not hating on him, but the title is misleading. I thoroughly enjoy this guys videos, just irked that he calls himself an average golfer. If he's average than I need to give up golf.
Interesting...I think it's the opposite. They seem to be moving towards the game improvement side. I've owned the 2017 and currently the 2019. The top line looks wider and blade length is definitely longer. But I do agree that the toe is taller and heel is shorter. Seem like a slight repositioning of weight with the 31gm of tungsten. So maybe just higher launch and more consistent distances, minus the flyers. Already pre-ordered. Another great review, keep up the great work!
I think you are spot on with their objective. Already some video reviews seem to imply that they adjusted tech to reduce the flyers. That was the biggest knock on them in online reviews.

The designers at TM have done another great job improving the cosmetics with each generation and the P790/770 would look to be a great combo setup👍

Peter what shaft did you go with? I'm stuck between stock stiff 105g and my Fitter recommended kbs tour 120g stiff
770 / 790 combo will be very difficult with the loft differences of the 2 models
They adjust lofts for you so as they are in sync 👍

Been debating between these p790s and the pxg gen 4 0311 P irons. What's your opinion on the two and which do you think is the better buy?

I would say 0 to 24, so a 12 index would be right in the spot. Not tour clubs, but not Game Improvement clubs either.
