I am kind of tempted to gift this mod to my dad - who's a Software Engineer - but since I myself am studying programming but am not yet on this level, I feel like he'd misunderstand without me over-explaining it. He's often commented how he doesn't even dare to think the skillset a game programmer requires so I believe he would be really intrigued by even some of the smaller changes. I guess I'd best wait and steal this idea for a Father's Day gift next year (or the following year, after it has become clearer exactly how much tweaking a mod like this demands of my limited free time). He hasn't "gamed" since the 90's because his growing family required more and more of his time; I think he might have a great time. Assuming that he can beat it in couple hours at most. I don't think he'd be willing to put several hours of his time into a game anymore, even if it was a gift. What a wonderful idea, Fundy!
Well, it hasn't been Father's Day in my country yet this year, but I will not. I realized that it will be more of a disappointment for him to get a mod someone else made from me and my studies are keeping me too busy for side projects. But I am thinking about hiding some Father's Day Easter eggs for my solo portfolio project in school, if I can find the time for it. My deadline for the project is few weeks before Father's Day.
4:14 You actually got a very low roll for emeralds...but for the diamonds I think you literally got the maximum possible from one block with that level of Fortune
i know the issue of why it explodes 3 times: when you look at any entity it runs a code that explodes that entity... but that is in a constant loop so after the explosion it goes back to the start of the loop causing the multiple explosions if you just add a wait (after the explosion) for the amount of time it takes for the entity to de-spawn it should do only one explosion i didnt think that would be so long (rip fingers)
This Is so wholesome My dad also loves games like me So i showed him Minecraft He Said "this Is really relaxing" He lives in a pacifist world of course in his little cabin with chickens and cows by a river He is having the time of his life there and im happy for him Edit : 3 days ago he saw me playing Pokémon sun and he Said "what a funny little creature " looking at my cutiefly "Is that Pikachu ? He choosed rowlet because he Said he had an owl once and name it Glario I really love hear my dad laugh with His first ever Pokémon Glario
It's cool to see all the problems you run into while coding these things, the first exploding cow exploded in just the positive x, y, and z direction because the random vector function only returns vectors with non-negative x, y, and z values. The nether portal was messed up at first because you created the block at location.add(new Vector) instead of cloning the location first, which increments location instead of creating a new location.
@@MisterBozoYT From a code standpoint it's just some really simple mistakes that anyone could make the first time through. The location one is especially easy to do by accident, and the random vector one is just something that works in a way that most people wouldn't expect it to
this is so wholesome how Fundy went through the trouble of making a mod for the entertainment of his viewers and just so his dad could play minecraft for the first time :')
Please release this as a stand-alone….. but without the extra “Dad” parts XD This game really needs a tutorial or log book to help get you started…. Or something. The old legacy console versions did…. But those are deprecated
@Florian D. I suppose, but in this case it doesn't really matter that much. Of course, if you think it does then go ahead but, while the word coder alone is very broad, from the video you could gain a gist of his type of code-work. Also since it's not in a job-like setting the lack of technicality shouldn't matter. But thats up to you. Thanks for explaining it to me and have a nice day/night :>

also, i'm not a mojang developer and don't have access to bedrock's code, but as a modder looking through minecraft's code, there are tons of things they can clean up without having to re-write the entire thing, like how structures work for example.

Sorry dude, a comment spammer stole your comment and is currently two spaces above you
I miss the Xbox 360 tutorial world! It was so easy and iconic :(
I am kind of tempted to gift this mod to my dad - who's a Software Engineer - but since I myself am studying programming but am not yet on this level, I feel like he'd misunderstand without me over-explaining it.
So...did you do it?
WE NEED TO KNOW IF YOU DID IT
Well, it hasn't been Father's Day in my country yet this year, but I will not. I realized that it will be more of a disappointment for him to get a mod someone else made from me and my studies are keeping me too busy for side projects. But I am thinking about hiding some Father's Day Easter eggs for my solo portfolio project in school, if I can find the time for it. My deadline for the project is few weeks before Father's Day.

i know the issue of why it explodes 3 times:
when you look at any entity it runs a code that explodes that entity... but that is in a constant loop so after the explosion it goes back to the start of the loop causing the multiple explosions if you just add a wait (after the explosion) for the amount of time it takes for the entity to de-spawn it should do only one explosion
i didnt think that would be so long (rip fingers)
uhh, ok 👀
not even that long, sometimes I write essays on accident
that wasn’t even long at all. Ur so lazzy

Everyone has a bad side. The only difference is whether they're bad to you or not.
I don't think(. add vector) wqs a bad idea. he just forgot to change the extra block movement after the first plock spwan
@@jozimastar95 He forgot to clone the location, he just needed to call Location.clone() before he added the vector
my brain is going to explode please stop
@@MisterBozoYT From a code standpoint it's just some really simple mistakes that anyone could make the first time through. The location one is especially easy to do by accident, and the random vector one is just something that works in a way that most people wouldn't expect it to

this is so wholesome how Fundy went through the trouble of making a mod for the entertainment of his viewers and just so his dad could play minecraft for the first time :')
This guy really loves his dad, he's supporting his father Epicly.
Please release this as a stand-alone….. but without the extra “Dad” parts XD
This game really needs a tutorial or log book to help get you started…. Or something.
The old legacy console versions did…. But those are deprecated
This isn't the best mod to learn,Fundy made this mod for fun however if he really wants to make one like you said, then it needs customisation

That and setting all this up was sweet.
Round of applause for the coder boi and his awesome father! 👏
@Florian D. Can you explain why please? By definition it seems innocent enough
@Florian D. I don't know about the right terminology, but 'coder boy' is what the chat and fundy call himself from time to time. It's just a nickname
Ok for real that was very endearing and also absolutely hilarious lmao, can’t stop smiling while a laugh at how he navigates this experience you’ve shown him
Fundy's dad saying: What's a "minecraft"?

"Hey Dad! Wanna be in my video?" "Oh sure son!" "One thing, I need you to speak English and make it seem like we're always speaking English with each other"
Seriously though this was a really fun video! Your Dad did great! Also the "Yeah no this is too hard let's do it a different way" is way too relatable as a fellow coder haha. Sometimes the easiest solution to a problem is to just throw that problem away and try something completely different. Well done on the difficulty Fundy!
thanks you
No it would go like: "Hey pap! Wil je me misschien helpen met een video?" "Ja hoor!" "Je moet alleen wel Engels praten natuurlijk en het laten lijken alsof we dat altijd doen."

Do you not realize how common English is in The Netherlands?
@@md_vandenberg It’s not common to talk English when you’re not English yourself, though. Normally you’d make them speak their own language (Dutch) and then translate it with text under it. It’s just kinda funny he made him talk in English lol

The way that Fundy made something that his dad to help'em while playing is wholesome.
Fundy"hey dad have you ever heard of Minecraft fundys dad"wats a Minecraft?
This is what me and my dad did in reverse. My dad taught *me* how to play games, and even now I still can't beat him in Mario Kart (or any game now that I think about it).
I'd love to install this for my father as the most passive aggressive thing since he's been playing mmos for longer than I've been alive
At least your dad attempted to play. My mom always tells me, "I have never played video games growing up, I wouldn't know what to do if I tried". I've told her that I would help her with anything she has a problem with, even turning the difficulty down to peaceful, turning off explosions, PVP, and fire spread. But she still says no, maybe one day I can get her to play one game before she rage quiets forever.
