You are hands down the most insightful Kindle TH-camr I do often highlight but, I don’t take that next step of note taking. This is a reminder to start doing that.
Great video. I totally agree the keyboard on the kindle sucks but notes are so useful when you come back to the highlights so they're a must do. I use my phone and laptop to read with the kindle app and it helps
For sure. I’m always grateful when I revisit my old Kindle notes. They add so much color and context to my highlights. The apps are a lot better for adding notes!
I have the Kindle Keyboard _[3rd Gen]_ and read from a document called *_'The Ultimate Bible Study Suite'*,_** within it every single word of the bible has a link behind it taking me to a Hebrew/Greek Lexicon offering a scholarly definition of the word whose link I clicked on, once finished I simply hit the physical **_*back-button_* and I am returned to the very verse I was previously reading. However, having just purchased a 6" Kindle 2022 _[11th Gen']_ I discover that my *_'The Ultimate Bible Study Suite'_* is made obsolete by the lack of either a physical or soft _*back-button*._ Now when I am taken to the Lexicon I find I'm trapped in it, there is a weird arrow at the bottom I can press that says something like _"Back to loc 346578"_ or some other pointless number with a choice of hitting another saying _"Stay Here"._ Hitting the _"Back to loc 346578"_ results in me being taken somewhere else in the Lexicon and not back to the verse of the bible I was reading. After sometime the _"Back to loc 346578"_ [or some other number] takes mer back to the Suite's index page and where I can with some frustration navigate back to the verse I was reading. Maybe I'm missing something but is there a software button which I can hit that will retrace my steps as the physical button does on my Kindle Keyboard, much like the back button on a web browser? Thanks.
Do you have a video about saving highlights and notes etc on Kobo esp with Libby? I've highlighted a lot then looked and seen nothing in my device. I thought they would kinda hang around. I don't actually know if my kindle unlimited book notes hang around in the device either but they do go to Goodreads... I'm a bit sad that the library books I've read on my Kobo were highlighted and noted for seemingly nothing... I'm tempted to just take photos with my phone 🤷🏼♀️ Does Kobo Clara 2E have a screenshot option like the Kindles? At least that would be helpful to not lose my train of thought... Thanks!
Have any of your note- & highlight-filled books been updated and get a warning that if you update, all those notes & highlights will be lost? Any way to not lose a decade or more of (in my case) Bible study?
That would be an excellent feature, but I wonder if Amazon would ever start adding microphones (or speakers) to their e-readers. Definitely a possibility
No modern technology service has had a bigger positive impact on my life than Readwise. More than any fitness, health, productivity, streaming, or social app. Its value exceeds any gym membership, educational program, and online course I've ever purchased, and I've only been a subscriber for 7 months. If you're an avid reader, you need to add $7.99 to your monthly budget.
Great vidoe, Maneetpaul. :) To be honest, I think Amazon is missing an opportunity here. It would (or at least should) be really easy to enable a Bluetooth connection to a physical keyboard. That would make taking notes a lot simpler. I just don't feel like taking notes is an adequate experience on the Kindle. Granted, I don't have the Scribe, but even taking notes on a sticky note in a book feels kind of inadequate to me. We need a Bluetooth keyboard driver. :)
That is a great idea! I’m honestly surprised they haven’t added support for this yet. Maybe we’ll get an update in the future :) thanks for watching, Brian!
The notes you took before weren't pointless, though. The act of taking them forces you to recapitulate what you just read and put it into words in a succinct form. It helps you remember, even if you never read the notes again.
I thought so too, but years later, I’ve definitely forgotten most of those notes. For long-term memory, I’ve realized consistent revision is needed. But that’s just me!
Hi Maneetpaul. Thanks sharing your system. I take relatively longer notes and do find the keyboard on my 2017 Oasis a bit frustrating. Is Scribe’s keyboard any better ? Faster , perhaps ?
Great tips as always. I'm not sure I want to invest in Readwise but as you said there are other tools available. One question I do have is whether you leave your Kindle wifi on at all times? I rarely turn mine on out of habit to save battery and avoid unnecessary interaction with Amazon. What is your workflow regarding wifi use which is clearly necessary for syncing between apps and devices. Thanks for your great coverage.
Thanks for watching, Dale! I keep my WiFi on all the time and never think twice about it. I try to keep things as simple as possible. Haven’t had any battery difficulties so far. Hope this helps answer your question!
No, you can log in and out but you can’t have 2 profiles in the 1 Kindle. You can have a “household” but you can’t have 2 profiles into the one ereader?
I used to always get my best ideas while driving... It was horrible BC phones weren't smart then so I couldn't handsfree ask it to remember something for me...

Thanks so much for the kind words, Chantel!
I am always fascinated with your insightful videos. Thanks!
Readwise is a game changer.
Love your content! Keep it up.

I’d like to see a voice-to-text feature for notes in Kindle. It’d make taking notes so much easier.

Wow, what a positive review! 🙌🏽 I agree that it has had such a positive impact on my life too
Do you use a screen protector for your kindle scribe?
Hi Maneetpaul, Am considering of getting a Kobo Clara BW. Would a Clara BW fit onto a Clara 2E case?
Hi. Can you recommend the easiest way to migrate all my Remarkable 2 notes to my scribe and organise them into one folder? Thank you!
Great vidoe, Maneetpaul. :)

You are applying the zettlkasten method
Is anyone able to answer if more than one person can use a single kindle device? I.e. multiple profiles

It’s very inconvenient that’s dont work for pdf documents
