The idea to highlight the chapter headings too was a life saver

I like to do notes and highlights in my Kindle while reading as well, but after that, I found it more useful to rewrite content I highlighted in my own words. This way you are memorizing it much more effectively, as you are making connections in your brain and using "active recall" method, which is also super effective.

absolutely. if you follow the steps in the video you end up with a collection of all your highlights. that‘s not a summary. It‘s definitely better than nothing, but I would consider the whole process the first step. after this is where the work starts that really benefits you.

Take export notes….and use chat gpt or copilot to tidy them up. I.e. bullet points, headers etc

Great technique. I agree with and do all that you do with one small but significant difference... I purchase hard copies of books, underline and make comments in the margins, and handwrite my notes.
There is huge value in adding my own thoughts and conclusions to my note-taking. It takes my learning one step further deeper.
Pen to paper note-taking is more effective than copy/pasting or even typing them. It is a more personalised learning experience to write the notes.
This week's read for me is Free to Learn by Peter Gray.
    Cheers

How can my personal notes be added or integrated to the One Note document of the book's highlit text?
I suppose I could manually enter my best personal notes but that happens after reading the book and is a drudge.
Could a Rocketbook or other such scanned document's content be integrated with my book notes in One Note?
Or could my notes from an ereader where I've recorded my notes be integrated?

@@anastasiahopkinson5676Its a long way around, but all your highlights and notes can be easily accessed on GoodReads. From there, you can copy/paste them to OneNote. (There's also a share option available directly from the Kindle, but I'm not sure if OneNote is an offered destination.)

Hi all I do something similar on ibooks, but must admit the content is brilliantly presented!! In iBooks I tend to add notes to the highlights, so that I can export it along with the summary, this allows me to have a documented dialogue with the author(PRO TIP).

The notes feature is great but Kindles are too slow (and annoying) to take notes. In an iPad I guess it works beautifully.

I've recently introduced Anki (free flashcard software) to my Kindle reading workflow. I would say that it has helped me better retain my learnings.
Keen to see how I benefit in the medium-to-long term from using this system.

Are you able to export notes on the Kindle Paperwhite? I followed along with what you do in the video, however, it appears that there is no export button available. Looked online but didn't find anything either... solutions?

I’ve literally done this before watching this video lol. It’s not really a method but common sense if you’re looking to do it. You’re just copying a pasting. I’ve honestly never really seen myself go back to read my notes since I use active recall.
