14:38 I was going to mention that only the R4 would be compatible with the VIA firmware, but it looks like you've already asked and had that answered in the discord
New version of this has just been released with traditional 1/4 key offset on second row and a 7u space bar, also now has a fully enclosed case option.
Regarding the Clickiez 40g return issues-super common problem. I had really good luck with replacing the stock Gateron springs with 45g Thockpop longboi springs. Because the stock springs use Gat's CAP sizing, it can be hard to fit with replacements, but the Thockpop ones fit. It's a huge improvement. Even though the weighting is similar, the increased length helps a ton with return. And it's also nice that it doesn't increase the weight too much because they're already heavy to press. Really didn't like them because of the return issues before switching out the springs, but it's become quite fun after
i'm pretty sure the 5 million rating is not because they stop working after 5 million presses, but because nobody really bothers testing for more than that. that's why 90% of mechanical switches mostly only state a generic 20-25 million or something, even when some of them stop even after a few days of working in the worst cases. and probably kailh just trying to be on the safe side because it's a new design and they don't want to be liable IF something goes wrong with them
The rating system says they have to statistically reach 5 million presses with fewer than 1% of samples failing. They usually test this in parallel and then extrapolate, for example they would test 1,000 switches to 20,000 clicks and see how many failures they get and how the failures are accelerating.
Does it mean that the Hyper 7 is not really suitable for secretaries and other folks doing touchtyping? The ½ key offset (instead of ⅓) and the very short spacebar are clearly disadvantegeous for many users, I'm afraid.
Ortholinear keyboard users are almost exclusively touch typists. Seems like touch typists can adapt to adjustments to the row staggering, as long as they can find their base position on the home row.

Thanks for reviewing this. It is WAY out of my use-case needs...and my budget...but I LOVE it! It is the essential, ultimate "command station" board

Beautiful keyboard! I love seeing a video review on one of the few floating out there!
Thank you! I made this video because there’s almost nothing out there about them.
Nice vid mate

it's such a crazy keyboard...i love it!
Awesome video... Subbed
Would love to get one. Hope you upload other >100% keyboard. Its a niche without much content given the diffidulty to get othem and low demand.
As someone who uses a split sub 60 key setup, this gives me physical pain. But, to each their own.
Will it run Crysis?
This keyboard is perfect for emacs!
This keyboard is based
that spacebar why tho
The new R4 version has an option for a fullsize spacebar, which I opted for.
I would love to travel with this monstrosity to my office 😂
Only with Cherry Blues 🤣
200% keyboard!
