It was evidently built on the KZ2 engine though, to think they wrote an entire prerendered 2 minute demo without using the engine is pretty crazy. It does look enhanced but volumetric effects have *definitely* been done today. Ever heard of volumetric lighting? It's in a lot of games now.

The Intruder is one of the most impractical aerial troop transport designs I've ever seen. The guys riding on top would be instantly torn to shreds by shrapnel from exploding flak and machine gun fire.
Actually what annoys me is that... If im not wrong (many years passed) ISA directly deploys from the spaceships... spaceships that In theory stay on orbit (no matter if low or high orbit) and from there they deploy the intruders.... its not like the ISA ships would be floating at 500m altitude... how the soldiers doesnt die by lack of oxigen at all?
Even the ISA cruisers are extremely impractical. They're long and shaped like daggers, but when damaged they can't land like a regular Helghast ship can, much like a space rocket they need specialized landing bays that Helghan obviously wouldn't have. So when shot down the crew often time has literally no choice but to go down with the ship and hope for a merciful death.

Look at battlefield 1 maxed out on a PC its atmosphere and trench warfare looks very close to this But I still find the explosions in this trailer from 2005 to be a bit better because they last longer with the smoke slowly blowing away instead of instantly fading off. And that smoke trail when they are flying in after getting shot to make a beach landing is far better then any game I've seen to date. But I admit it wont be long before we will be able to out do everything in this trailer maybe PS5 can pull off explosions and smoke trails as good as whats seen in this trailer.

Just booted up my PS3 and played the first couple levels of KZ2. This game was graphically 10 years ahead and it STILL looks good. Id argue it looks and plays better than this trailer

I remember when people were all saying "No way it'll actually look this good." Then it came out and looked better.
And now there is killzone shadowfall wich looks like a film and killzone mercenary in the vita looks better.
And then there is Crysis one which looks better than these games combined :--D

It's got exceptional texturing but the AA and Anistrophic are not that good, besides the fact the texture quality is inconsistent.
I'ma be real, sure Sony did themselves no favours here, but...how in the ever loving hell did some people say this looks "better than actual Killzone 2" when KZ2 came out? How?
The textures and lighting looked awesome, and levels were well designed. The facial animations... not so much.
