      That would be useful, but I didn't have one. Also, don't think it'd necessarily help me find that darn transformer (still haven't found it!). 🤣 Thanks for commenting.

    Does this product have positive and negative poles? If a transformer adapter is used, it can change from 240v to 24v.

      It is 24v ac output from the transformer, no polarity on the wires

    if my mom has one at her house and I have one at my house can I monitor her house as well as mine with my app?

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a good question. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can set up different locations from within the app (each with their own cameras, doorberlls, etc.). I've just got one location, but I see an "Add New Home" option in the app. Different users can be invited to have the app and access to the cameras, too (with different logins).
      Hope that's helpful, and good luck! Be sure you're subbed for more, and thank you for your support, @cuttinup97! 😄 Merry Christmas! 🎅🎄

    Thanks for posting. Tried to install this for my neighbor, wasn’t enough power even after jumping. Wouldn’t do anything. It measured 20 volts, but not enough amperage. My Ring has a battery that mounts at the doorbell that stores enough current for it to work.

    The indoor bell pairs with wifi or blue tooth. I have the e340 and tried to add the mini chime. It shows as a device in the app and will give tone when you change volume but that's it. The doorbell activating I get nothing . Chime shows steady blue. About to send back to Amazon. eufy Customer service never called back

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've dealt with Eufy customer service a few times via the app or site I think, and then they email you. The response time is generally one day (I think they're based overseas), but they've been helpful and have replaced a couple things for me. They're actually sending me a new doorbell, as the mic quality of this one seems to be poor.

    Has anyone figured out a way to make an existing transformer and chime box ring on this without the plug-in chime that you get

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be nice! Haven't seen anything about getting it to work with the existing doorbell. I've got mine working with the plug-in chime, and also with the Echos I have scattered throughout the house, so am not missing the existing doorbell...but would be nice to have the option! • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Braunson This does work with my existing transformer, but you are correct that it is not compatible with the existing chime. The notifications seem pretty fast to me. The audio quality isn’t great though, I’ve noticed, so they sent me another one (which was worse), so I just put my original one back up.

    Hi Charlie, nice video, thanks for showing the process. I have a question, haven't found the naswer anywhere yet. Do you know where the videos are actually located? if in the doorbell or the chime? Do you have the option to automatically dowload the videos to your app/cell phone? I'm asking this because if something bada happens, if a bad person just rip off the doorbell and take it out, can we still access the videos to know what happened? Thanks

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question. I think for this wired version, it’s stored in the doorbell itself (at least as of now). It’s accessed in the Eufy Security app (alongside other cameras you might have that might store on a Homebase), but as of now, this does not take advantage of any Homebases you might have. I don’t think there are any automatic download options for the videos on this doorbell…you have to go in and manually download videos you want. Hopefully they enable support for Homebase 3 in the future (as of now, they’ve got a PDF somewhere on their website that says it’s under consideration or something like that).

    Hey @Charlie, thanks for the video - really helpful as I'm looking into getting a Eufy doorbell camera for my new house.
    One question - Any issues with the power getting to the actual doorbell device? I've read that Eufy is pretty good about notifications via their app related to this issue.
    Thanks

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, @Josehaha! I was lucky that my transformer had a high-enough voltage, so the power works well for me. There's a self-test in the app that will test whether the transformer has enough voltage to support the doorbell as well. Thanks for your support, and be sure to sub for more! 😄

    what does it mean when it says homebase not supported?

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Homebase is a separate device that certain Eufy devices use. My Eufycam 3s connect to Homebase 3, but my Eufy S330 Video Doorbell Dual Wired (at least currently) doesn't. So, there are some differences, including that the doorbell stores the videos on the doorbell itself instead of on the Homebase 3, and doesn't get all the advanced AI features that the Eufycam 3s do that use the Homebase 3. Hope that's helpful! 😄

      I haven't had that issue, knock on wood, but if someone else has, hopefully they'll leave a comment. If you've already tried unpairing/repairing the chime and/or setting up the whole camera/chime again from scratch, there's the option to use your Amazon Alexa (or other device, probably) to announce when someone's at the door. I have some Alexas set up to do that, along with the chime...and it seems to work pretty well.

      There is a test function within the Eufy app that checks if the transformer voltage is good, and it says it is (has been working now for about two months with no issues). Is your original indoor chime from your house still working or the eufy chime only?

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      At least for this version of the wired doorbell, the indoor chime does not ring anymore...only the chime they give. Plus, I have Alexas throughout my house, so I have it set up that Alexa will announce that someone rang the doorbell throughout the house. So we definitely hear it more/better now than before with the original bell that was only downstairs.
