I know Duck Creek when I see it and I'll tell you, for $15-$25(Hot Deals), it's a pretty decent deal. Sure, some patchy spots here and there but if you're realistic with your course expectations vs what you're paying and you shouldn't be let down. Also, at least the story they're telling about the clubhouse is consistent. I got the same details when I asked. Also, 10/10 for the name. Can confirm, there are definitely ducks in the creek.
Yeah I have a buddy that worked their. It wasn’t lightening according to him. I mean notice how the remodel of the club house was going pretty terrible. 🤷🏻♂️
For a muni, it really isn't that bad looking. Fairly green for summer in Texas and as you said a playable layout. Better than most Muni's here in SoCal and you can't even get on them here. I'm lucky though, have Soule Park Golf club in my backyard. Best public course for the money ever, and never busy! You need to check it out!!
My FIL lives on the course and helps out with marshalling/anything else they need - you should totally come back and review after the club house is rebuilt. New owners are really trying to get it back up to par (haha). But honestly I feel like one of the best prices out there to play in the North Dallas suburban area - even if its not as resplendent as some newer/more expensive locations.
Sadly the course is worse now and there hasn’t been any effort to rebuild the clubhouse. I live down the street and begrudgingly play here occasionally cause of the convenience
I feel like the one thing that is missing from these videos is that most of these courses probably have a local rule that you can declare anything reasonable as abnormal course conditions and legally move your ball. I've played at plenty of courses where they had a rule that basically said "you don't have to play out of the bunkers - we know they are bad". That significantly improves the playing experience at courses that are doing their best, but may be a bit rough.
The worst part about the club house was they JUST remodeled the restaurant/bar it was so clean and pretty. Being on the creek they had a ton of flooding when we had some storms awhile back, that’s what caused a lot of damage and trash. Next time out play Rusted Rail lol
The club house was really nice before the incident on weekends they have a deck behind the makeshift clubhouse and have burgers and dogs on the smoker. Honestly not bad price wise and cheap drinks as well
I went out there a while back, and my problem was not the golf course conditions. They were to be expected for how cheap the course is, and honestly, better than what I expected. But we had a 3:00 tee time(summer months so the daylight lasts longer. We did not recieve a cart or get to tee off until 3:45. They had so many tee times cram packed together and we were waiting extremely long on every hole and our group are not good golfers, one of which who hardly even plays and we were easily on the group in front of us tail. And they were on another groups tail, and so on. It was ridiculous. We ran out of day light on the 16th hole, it was around 8:45. So when i say no daylight we could barely see to get back to the clubhouse, and there was a few groups behind us. That is how long the round took.
I don’t mind playing duck Creek at all. It’s usually wide open and you can play a quick three hour round and the greens are usually in pretty good shape.
“struck by lightning” They were halfway through a not-so-great renovation of the club house when “lightning struck” With that being said, this was the home course during Covid when I decided to really start learning how to play golf. Still play it at least once a month.

This former country club is a fun, quiry track. It could be in better shape but it does look pretty good for what it has looked in the past. I have played this course a few times when they decided not to mow several holes (for whatever reason), and you would think you would have seen livestock grazing the grass was so tall.
My type of course. Love the challenge of rock-hard bunkers, uncut grass, fairways with standing water and crusty/poorly maintained/unpredictable greens vs beautiful, manicured, easy private coutry club courses.
That “temporary” clubhouse and portopotty situation is still here to this day… with no effort to rebuild on that blank slab of concrete. So I think it’s going to be like that forever 🥴

I have played this course probably 10 times or more now just based on the price. Conditions are representative of the cost I mean you get what you pay for could be worse. Pace of play is the worst of any course I’ve been to as the low price attracts newer golfers. I’ve had some good and bad experiences with the people who work there. Overall, if you want to save some money I’d check it out other than that not the best place to play.

YOu all must have some really high prices down there. Im in Michigan and only 2 courses with in about an hour's drive are more than $35 a round Most are the 20-25 range.
You this a $10 ride along fee is bad? Here in Long Island at every course I’ve been too if your passenger doesn’t have a bag they cannot enter the course. Can’t even play using 1 set of clubs together if you wanted to.
I absolutely can’t stand when golf courses charge a cart fee for someone to literally sit and watch you play golf. I’m already paying a cart fee to play golf. Why does my significant other, who is already tortured by watching bad golf, need to pay an additional fee. I’m okay with the small 5-10 dollar fees, but when courses want just as much to play around, it’s overly excessive.
If you ever make your way to North Carolina (Raleigh area) you should play Olde Liberty Golf Club as part of this series. I live in this community and the course is pretty bad! I'm a golf fanatic and am usually pretty lenient on golf course evaluations but this one is bad! They do not have a clubhouse, it's a trailer (not because of lightning ... just because!). They also do not have irrigation so the course relies on mother nature for watering and in this sweltering NC heat, that's not a great recipe for success! Read a review on it that said the course gets less attention than an orphaned baby. 🤷 Love your content though and really enjoy videos like these!
@@JoshMayerGolf maybe at that price, but as I'm sure you know there are many better spots in Dallas to play. I played there once like 4 years ago when they had a clubhouse and was so totally underwhelmed I have never been back.
This course is about par for the course. I'm betting it has a fairly new owner. A $35 weekday $45 weekend courses average gross revenue per year is around $950,000, average expenses are around $900,000. So unless the owner is willing to sink the very small profit if any back into the course, this is what you get. Some courses in that price range are in great shape, but they usually have long-term owners who have built up large maintenance funds, or owned by a municipality who runs it at a loss for the community.
To be fair, drinking beer and peeing on the course is about as common as wearing socks

Charging someone who isn't playing to ride along in the cart you already added to your round is garbage customer service.
And also ride along fees are pretty common now. And usually I always get paid the same amount as the golfer.
YOu all must have some really high prices down there. Im in Michigan and only 2 courses with in about an hour's drive are more than $35 a round Most are the 20-25 range.
I don’t know many places that wouldn’t charge for a ride along. I feel like 10 bucks is a great deal for a ride along.
ive never in my life heard of them charging a ride along fee thats ridiculous
Your cut scene montage music is terrifying😵
Get out there and support them. This shits on most of my local courses in Australia
The dramatic Kubrick music stings get me every time.
You this a $10 ride along fee is bad? Here in Long Island at every course I’ve been too if your passenger doesn’t have a bag they cannot enter the course. Can’t even play using 1 set of clubs together if you wanted to.
What Cource is this ?
I absolutely can’t stand when golf courses charge a cart fee for someone to literally sit and watch you play golf. I’m already paying a cart fee to play golf. Why does my significant other, who is already tortured by watching bad golf, need to pay an additional fee. I’m okay with the small 5-10 dollar fees, but when courses want just as much to play around, it’s overly excessive.
Come play some courses in East Tennessee I’ll show u around
You should play Berkleigh golf club it Kutztown PA
Keep posting shorts. I have never even watched or played golf before but shorts got me watching your badest series.
My guy! Will do
If you ever make your way to North Carolina (Raleigh area) you should play Olde Liberty Golf Club as part of this series.
I commented on a previous course, but you should try Meadowbrook in Gettysburg, Pa.
I have never seen a golf course that makes you pay for someone who is just tagging along not playing golf ⛳️
Doesn't even compare to the Links at Summerly in Lake Elsinore, CA. The absolute worst course I've ever played.
$35? Man I'd play there every day. Can't get that anywhere around here.
That’s duck creek lol
Sure is. Played there many times when I first started
There is a reason they always have plenty of times available on Golfnow.
Honestly not a bad spot
Ride along fee is for insurance purposes, since only paying customers are covered. It's a theory .
I'd play this course everyday of the week. That says a lot about my home course... It's pitiful.
Wow, that’s nicer than half the courses I play.😳
I play on a course that has a literal homeless camp on the second hole, not even kidding.
