One thing I love about Senku so far is sure he does a lot of what he, well, does for practical reasons, getting equipment he needs and of course eating, but he also goes through great lengths to use his knowledge to improve the lives of those he meets, including bringing back simple or seemingly simple things like ramen or cola.
I also like how you see vulnerable sides to him bc at the end of the day he is still a teenager that values his friends a lot. Aside from his frail constitution, despite being a genius, emotions are his kryptonite
You got to imagine in Dr.stone it's Stone age cola. So it'll be a badly made one. Just like the ramen he made it won't taste as good but it'll be similar.
You crush the coriander and lemon zest together with a mortar and pestle it creates more of a cola flavor than mixing it together as a solid it brings out more of the essential oils of both and when you mix it in with the honey caramel it's easier to straighten out as well
Because most people here who actually try it on cam would either have no knowledge of such possible way of doing it, don't have the equipment or they think that other methods are better maybe. Obviously I thought about it right after the Episode came out. But I had no equipment to do it and I genuinely thought that just boiling it (like tea) would be better as the materials would have their essence in the water. It would lead an "easier separation" of the essences and the ingredients and then mix it with some honey. But hey, as you can see, I don't know much about cooking so obviously I would fail. So really, The strategy to go when cooking is almost always up to how much one knows about cooking rather than just trying random cooking like mine.
Monstro Gaming there's no reason to use a mortar and pestle, all the oils are integrating with the other liquids during boiling. With a mortal and pestle some oils would also be lost and be absorbed by the mortar (if you use a white mortar you can actually see the stains that cilantro would leave). A mortar and pestle is good for crushing seeds or making salsa or guac, but is ultimately unnecessary if you just want to give flavor to liquids.
THANK! YOU! The first video I watched on this, the guys literally just added the coriander to the glass, raw. Like, the f*ck?! You want the oils, like you said, not the green! At least this guy strained it. For anyone who wants to try, btw, make sure you use a ceramic, mortar and pestle, or any material that's hard and smooth. You *can* get bamboo, and wood ones, but those will absorb the oils due to the porous nature of the materials. When oils oxidise, they can spoil, and go rancid.
