- R.I.P. Olivia Hussey. The 1968 movie 'Romeo and Juliet' is considered by most to be the definitive film adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy of two star-crossed lovers.
Olivia Hussey played Juliet, Leonard Whiting played Romeo.
The music was composed by Nino Rota. I first heard this love theme performed by André Rieu many years ago, it has beguiled me for years. Also known as 'A Time For Us'. Violin cover.

You simply can’t make a movie of Romeo and Juliet better than this one. From the actors that were chosen, to the costumes, to the music…it just doesn’t get any better. People know excellence when they see it, and that’s why so many people say this version of Romeo and Juliet will always be the best. It cannot ever be excelled. 😊

I saw this movie in October 1969 through Latin Club. I was mesmerized by it! I prayed that God would bless me with a Juliet! Nothing happened and I forgot about my prayer. But at the end of 1970, this beautiful young lady came after me! I was scared, but succumbed to her advances and asked her out for a date! He dated and were engaged for almost 5 1/2 years and were married in June 1976! By the grace of God, we are now married 48 years with 4 beautiful daughters and 7 grandchildren!

The only error with this movie is that an electrical floodlight shows up for one moment in a scene where Juliet descends a stairway. I was very young but never forgot that. Apart from that glitch, the movie is _formidable._ 💔

I recorded this violin cover some time ago, intending to release it either this month or in January. What was meant to be another cover for fun has unexpectedly also become a tribute to this British-Argentine actress, who is immortalized in this classic film.

I was maybe 13 when I saw this movie in the theatre and was absolutely subjugated. This must have been around 1979. Some ten years ago, I handed a DVD copy to my Stepdaughter, then a young teen, and she watched the movie with a friend of the same age.
I was glad to notice that they were at least as fascinated as I was, so many years before. Two distinct generations and just the same impact. This movie is an absolute Masterpiece. 😍
