- DETAILED oil & filter change on this 2023 Suzuki GSXR 1000, with TORQUE SPECS, fairing removal (and replacement), and we show how to RESET the dashboard SERVICE LIGHT.
These procedures apply to all 2017-2025 GSXR 1000 & 1000R models
After the work was done, my new Service Advisor Mr. Bobo demanded a RAISE of 1/2-cup more kibble, and 2 extra Snausages because he is, quote: "a very good boy"

Nice work , and no broken tabs. 👍
Thanks so much for the feedback, I appreciate it 😎. Yeah handle with care, those fairings are expensive💰
I do the same thing with foil when changing my bike oil
Saves a lot of cleanup time 😎👍🏻
Dude. Thank you
Thanks for the feedback! Happy to help 😎👍🏻
Fender eliminated she look even better ❤❤
@@jonathancouch7349 YES!! Agreed, I have a kit, and will be installing it soon. Stay tuned😎👍🏻
I have the same exact bike, thanks for the taking the time to upload this.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad I could help 😎👍🏻
Great video! What did you use to make the jumper to reset the service
@@johnathanlee444 Thanks for the feedback! For the jumper I used just a piece of stripped wire that I twisted. I have also used a piece of paperclip, off of which you’ll need to remove any plastic coating 😎👍🏻
Nice video👍
@@KINGofBIKE89 thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated 😎👍🏻
Just wanted to say that we both have the same black/yellow GSXR and black VTXc 😂
@@m477h3 you got good taste in bikes bro 😎👍🏻
@ likewise 👍🏼
I'm more os a Suzuki guy, but compared to how easy oil changes are on Kawasaki's without removing any fairings,,why cant all Bikes be as easy.
Yeah, they all should design these with serviceability in mind, but I guess since this bike was designed before 2017 that wasn’t a priority. Hopefully we’ll get something entirely new for 2026🤞
Hi thanks so much for the vid. Did you say a new crush washer when putting the oil drain bolt back on?
@@Srt597 Thanks so much for the question, yes on the crush washer, I didn’t get it on video though. I need to do a video of the washer removal process in itself, it’s a little tricky 😎👍🏻
@@vtxfan can I use any like sold at Orielys?
I use Suzuki OEM. It’s part number 09168-14004
Your right. I couldn’t get the wash off so I just reinstalled the bolt w old one on. Appreciate you responding
Were you able to remove the original crush washer? I couldn’t. It was stuck on there hard.
Yes, in a vise with pick and pliers. Unfortunately I didn’t get the footage. I should probably make a separate video for that operation in itself👍🏻
@@vtxfan A video would be great. I couldn’t find anywhere to grab that darn washer to remove it.
That little clip for the dealer mode was just a bent piece of metal like a paper clip ???
@@elithegreat6463 yeah it was a scrap piece of stripped wire, but I have used a piece of paper clip before (need to strip off any plastic coating if it’s on there to make good contact) 😎👍🏻
Hi buddy, is the oil filter for one time used? Can we reuse back after clean?
Hi, good question! According to the manual for this bike, the first 600-mile service calls for filter change with the oil, after that it’s every other oil change for the filter (although I change the filter every oil change)
I dont know why suzuki decided it was a good idea to put turn signal on side of bike instead of the old way with integration in the mirrors and tail. Im glad i have a naked bike, so easy to work on. Nice bike
Yeah I do like them integrated into the mirrors
What a pain in the ass that was , just to change oil. No thanks!
@@jeffreykweller8825 It’s true that a fully faired bike is not as easy, but realistically (when not trying to record a video at the same time) it only ads about 5-minutes to the job 😎👍🏻
