There are numerous benefits arising from doing Sandhya vandhanam... A very very ancient but yogic method which leads us to path of moksha by activating the chakras within our body... Especially gayathri mantra being chanted by the way activates every chakra activating the kundalini power within... Pranayama on the other hand gives us the power by opening the third eye, pineal gland when concentrated on the space between the eye brows. By virtue of practice one can sustain for many days without the slightest taste of food and water. It removes the desire to wish for anything and we become purified and pray that paramatma is everything.... That's why everyone says the Sandhya vandhanam is mandatory at any cost...Try it if you want to experience the divine feeling... This part he has missed out
mama, non brahmins men interested and eager to do sandhya vandhanam, but never been taught , never been encouraged to do, how to learn swamy, whether can do without holly thread , pls explain, nonbrahim good husbands also need to protect their wives from arthritis.pls advice

Pls clarify if raavana did santhyavanthanam as i read he left the atma lingha on earth when he was about to do santhyavanthanam.. If the manthras are the same how he could have told narayanayethi samarpayami..
Ravana was a Brahmana who was very punctual in his Sandhyavandanam. He used to recite by saying Narayanayeti Samarpayami hence he got immense power. No enemies could defeat him. Only due to Tapassakti of Seetha Devi, Ravana met his end.
Swamy just explain the importance of sandhyavandhanam . Doing of sandhyavandhanam is to remove sins. Its like taking a precaution before disease comes.
Sairam. Swadharmam is important. It is wrong to say that ladies are protected by man's thejas. Ladies are protected by following their swadharma of taking care of family members with dedicated bhava. All shud accept their swadharma and respect others swadharma. As a mans swadharma safeguards woman, womans swadharma safeguards man also. Dharmam safeguards. Gender does not matter. Sairam.
