1960s Suzuki M-31 restoration part 3 engine and plastics!

In this video I discover that the engine and possibly the whole project is on death’s door. Engine parts are expensive and tough to come by. My local machine shop may be able to help me out. The crank is very rusty and I have it now soaking in old gasoline. Will it help? Maybe.
