This is very exciting. I've noticed that every time the Olympics are held in a city, the venues are usually miles away from the actual city in a completely new area. It's exciting to see how so many venues will literally be in the heart of Paris, with famous landmarks as backdrops! And that opening ceremony? Paris 2024 might take the crown from Beijing 2008 as one of the greatest opening ceremonies of all time!
In Tokyo 2020, there were 13 venues planned for 15 sports located in the vicinity of Tokyo Bay. In London 2012, 22 sports were within the Greater London area.
I love Paris, it's the favorite city I visit. I can never get enough. There have been changes necessary because of terror threats, like not being able to walk down the stairs from Trocadero and under the Eiffel Tower, and of course the fire at Notre Dame. I really would not want to be in the city during the games but I think there will be a huge amount of people there and that will be so good for everyone in the city. I'll be watching for sure.

I'm loving how the venue's are mostly already built and the already built environment is being repurposed in the duration of then Olympics. And it feels more intimate than in a massive stadium, and you get to see the sights around you. Fantastic concept! I hope the execution is on par/exceeds expectations.
Good luck... My advice: stay at home with your large screen. It's already unbearable 1 year in advance and nothing, absolutely nothing is ready. When Paris was chosen, 78% of French people liked the project. Then 66%, and today 58 % . Look at the French press, they don't even mention it because there are so many other things to worry about...

Im 40 now, Daddy, and just like i do every four years, I'll be watching it for us both. I know this sounds crazy guys. But when something exciting happens... a good gymnastic flick or a skateboarding trick oh and especially rhe 100m. I always jump up and shout out, "Did you see that dad, did you see it?" i keep his memory alive through the olmpics every time, and i constantly talk to him ❤️ Im so excited for paris, and we have spectators, yesssssssss thank god. Tokyo was ok, but without fans, it felt flat and empty. And the athletes deserved some love. Well, im a brit, but i support everyone. Im so excited. Olympics are always a well-intentioned mess. Massive potential that always lands incomplete. Breakdancing but so many other sports are neglected. It could be so much more logistically comprehensive too ... sort of like what the World Cup is doing in the Americas. It's touted as a progressive event but their historical stubborness is holding it back from really being the beneficial venue for economy and competition progressing forward.
Yes it will be quite a spectacle to watch the looting, burning of shops, hotrel, banks in all the main Paris shopping streets once again. Last night was something to remember for a lifetime. Come share it again with us next July & August. A hearty welcome!

While events like this are fun for tourists, not once in this video did they explain how this Olympics games would affect the day-to-day life of the native citizens in the area. A lot of times in the past, events of any kind can really disrupt the normal routine of the local people. Issues can include crowds, litter, traffic, delayed public transportation if available, tourist and corporations not respecting local customs, and long lines or wait times for things that are normally quick. Another thing to consider, how much revenue from these events will be used for the benefit of Paris and her people: to support her infrastructure and public services, to meet the needs of her people. Something to think about if being ethical and kind is our goal.

The LAX Automated People Mover is an automated people mover (APM) system around the Los Angeles International Airport area, currently under construction for Los Angeles World Airports and expected to open in 2024. The LAX APM will run 2.25 miles (3.62 km) and will have six stations that connect the Los Angeles Metro Rail, a consolidated rental car center and two intermodal transportation facilities with the airport's central terminal area.
It's not only that. Once the Olympics come around the corner, all of the homeless people flooding the streets will be kicked off the sidewalks and have nowhere else to go.
