- Hey, How's it going everyone? I'm Phlinger Phoo and welcome to Soloing the Ark. Today we head out into the snow Biome and tame up a few Kairuku and then figure out the best way to torment them into giving us their polymer!

holy crap man, i know its pixels, but this was gruesome, it makes sense, and i am going to make my own, but i am going to feel so damn guilty afterwards. this might violate the Geneva convention in several ways.

Feeding prime from penguins to other penguins

I make my farm so that kairuku are on a ramp and their eggs roll down and at the bottom there are four dimetrodons on aggressive and they incubate the eggs and the second they hatch they harvest them.
The best part is that it is fully automatic.

I think you should move the Generator OUTSIDE the wall and just run the power cable through. The less stuff you have in there for them to get hung up on the better. Maybe even put the AC units in the center of the floor.

I think you tamed them by feeding them the flesh of their adolescent son so they probably are plotting revenge, like that thylacoleo earlier who was trying to tame a pteranodon so he could pounce from the sky.
I think you are right on this, those pesky creatures trying to rise up and conquer the Island! Next thing you know they will be breeding their own Rex's to overtake my base. That's how it starts!
Nah the fliers will go negotiate with some gigas. The gigas don’t try to kill them and get led right to your base. Flyers because they have the best chance of getting away if the gigas don’t feel like helping
have you tried this with a pelagornis to harvest out of curiosity? they should get more organic polymer than normal from kairuku iinm... though obviously the pen would need to be a bit different...

My babies dont move when hatched did i do something wrong or can this only be done in pvp?
You can use bug repellant and they leave you alone. Also good to tame a bee using the bug repellant...
If you can, I’d throw in a pelag, or anything that can harvest organic poly cryo it throw it in there, and then put it on agressive. Since unlike the moschops, they should fight, they won’t even wait for the penguins to starve before getting your poly, they will straight up instantly take the babies life and polymer, although it won’t work as well in pve cus I doubt the unclaimed babies will take damage

I tried this. Put my mosschops on aggressive and wandering and he won’t even attack the baby’s. Also tried a dire wolf and same issue it wouldn’t attack the babies. Any idea why? Could really use the help

I can't imagine traveling so far with a Doedicurus without rolling.
Did you forget that Humans can pick up Kairuku or were you unable to? Didn't see the prompt when you were right next to them so I'm a little confused lol Great Video! My only suggestion would be to maybe keep a snail in or near the killing area to act as storage because they can extend the spoil time of organic polymer then you can carry the snail over to the tech replicator when it comes time to use it.
I like the snail part, but picking them up by hand, where is the fun in that? :P

I'm on PS4 and the trees stones and dinosaurs respawned twice then they stopped. I think they want to stop you from staying in the same area?

I put my ac an Gen up top still works for hatching eggs opens up bottom. But my moschops isn't eating the dead bodies
does melee damage increase the amount of Polymer gathered?
I wish you could make polymer on primitive plus, or at least a substitute when making the harpoon gun :(
The baby penguins give more organic polymer and if you use a pelagornis you get stacks of polymer ;)
How do you get the babies to start wondering as the hatch? Also how do you get your tame to attack the babies on PvE? Finally, what's the setting on your hiena to avoid harvesting on killing
Ideally you would like hiena to kill, moschops to harvest. Is that possible?
Hey phlinger! I'm playing single player on ps4 and I can't get my wolfs to kill unclaimed baby pinguins or any other unclaimed babies. In fact, I can't even kill them when I ride the wolf or any other dinos. Right now, I can only kill unclaimed babies with weapons. This kinda ruins my polymer farm plans.... Have any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks for all the great videos it really helps me out! I've watched almost all you ark content and you rock!
Hmm it has to be one of your settings. Make sure pve mode isnt enabled.

Can't you set the Hyena to disable collection to allow only the Moschops to harvest with the Hyena killing?

I never thought to use the Hyena like this as a means of mass producing prime meat. Beyond this, the Moschops has horridly buggy AI when on aggressive, mostly because it runs away from live targets. That moschops is basically losing his sh*t because of all the live unclaimed babies and never going into collect mode. To make matters worse, animals on wander WILL phase through walls & rails if you leave and return from render distance on single player.
He should just leave a peligornis there on aggressive so it kills the penguins on birth
Also if you need to transport multiple tames, put them into cryo and get them out one by one, waiting for the timer to go down in between getting them out...

The babys only provide significant polymer when they are wild. Domesticated its better to raise them to adult and save them till you need to make something.
the pen is a great idea, but having the genie and air conditioner inside just creates things to get stuck on, so ideally i would place them elsewhere.
I think it is important to point out that this only works if PvE is OFF, even if in single player game. If PvE is enabled, then you can't kill the babies.
Thanks for that lol. I made the pen. set it all up. farmed up about 50 dodo for a meat farm... and couldnlt work out why my raptors would not aggro.
Hey, i just try this but it seems i cannot attack the baby penguins. Any idea why? They dont get dmg from me and my dinos.

so I built a similar farm to this. I put a sabertooth underneath, but it doesn't seem to be getting any polymer when it kills the things. Aren't they meant to be really good at harvesting polymer?
They nerfed factory farming at some point. Wild babies still give the most polymer, but now bred baby kairuku give basically nothing. You have to let them grow up to maximize the production.

What where the air conditioners for?
By now probably you know this already but just in case anyone else wants to know, ac are an item that makes the temperature around them ideal, it's used for hatching eggs, as different creature eggs require different temperatures to hatch, when he bred the T.rexes and etc he used the air conditioners.
Some creatures like Penguins, otters and dimetrodons act as an air conditioner, meaning they can be used as substitute for an ac unit if you don't have access to them., although the otter radius is so small you have to drop the egg literally on top of the otter or very close.

Maybe relocate generator and AC outside?
Moschops is freaking out because its 'attack' instinct is 'run away'. Since it's 'aggressed' by all the live unclaimed hatchlings, it's just flipping out constantly and not entering a real wander mode. The hyena though, is brilliant. he doesn't have a polymer farm, he has a prime meat farm.
It feels good to see that my first (and currently only) high-level Argy, tamed at 110, has better stats than some people who are much better at the game than i am. Though mine is no where NEAR as pretty.
I got a lucky roll with only 4k in food, high agility, and high health.
I don’t have the gut to kill penguins. Thank Goodness for Karkinos now

What can you do with organic polymer
It works the same as polymer for most things.
because it can be mass harvested from Kairuku & hesperornis, it's considered a better source of workable polymer than normal Obsidian polymer. For the effort in locating, mining, transporting, and waiting for Obsidian, you can already have fifty stacks or more of ready-to-use Organic Polymer. The only drawback is the unavoidable expiration time. The difference is a day-trip for what you need vs weeks of labor for a reserve stockpile.
