If you position well during Messmer's fight he misses a lot of his stab like moves. You can use this to punish him mid combo's. You can even punish his jump with three Quick fire stabs. This makes Messmer in my opinion the best fight of Eldenring.
the thing about messmer is he extremely difficult, yet also very fair. His movesets is very fair, all dodgeable,he has a lot of punish windows,no long combos, well telegraphed attacks,he is def in the top 10 best bosses FS has ever done,at least in my opinion
Messmer is easily my favourite boss. You have a lot of opportunities to attack him, even in his second phase. For the triple snakes you can easily doge by jumping
I felt like all the bosses in this dlc were crazy aggressive and then I got to ssj3 radahn. Bro doesn’t even let you see let alone attack or heal, but at least he ain’t Hog rider
Radhans 2nd phase , while looks visually stunning, isnt fun to fight for me. My main complaint would be getting flash banged by holy light after almost every attack and the fact that every single of his sword swing is followed up by a pillar of holy attack by miquella. And yes, he is very hard but more in a frustrating way
Just say you’re dumb bro, you literally just have to roll to the side and stay close to him and his light beams won’t hit you, except for the big arena expanding one that you just have to roll through
@@WhySoSeriousSenpai I play on steamdeck and playsation. I littersly can't beat rahdah on the deck. Absolutely cooks it really upsetting considering elden ring is the main reason I even got the thing.
@@lennytate4246If you use a tank build (fingerprint shield, bull armor and all defence talismens), summon a mimic and only have Erdtree heal, scarlet aeonia, ancient dragon lightning strike and golden vow on, your mimic could finish him off while you keep him alive. Might be a more forgiving strat with low fps
It was mainly his quick cross slash combo. Basically if you got caught by either of the first two attacks, you’d be stuck in the whole combo. I think it made sense to change it, because the second slash of that combo is already obscenely hard to dodge
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but as far as the grape head winter lantern type enemies in the abyssal woods you CAN kill them. They can be parried! It takes pretty good timing but right before they grab you if you parry you can kill them very quickly! As soon as I found that out I took out every ounce of hatred I had on those bastards with the buckler shield
+ the first one you kill give you a madness buff talisman. I did a perfume bottle madness build and it wrecks everything. Killed radahn in like what 6 hits. One shot radagon. That shit makes no sense it is going to be nerfed ASAP.
@@NIKEONXXif they don’t nerf the bosses, no need to nerf the items 🤷🏼♂️ Radahn wants to be a bullshit fight guess we get to use bullshit weapons. They nerf the madness perfume bottles, but not Radahn we fightin 😤 beef on sight FromSoftware
@@codyweber5505 I dont want any nerfs ideally. These perfume bottle with the ashe of war are stfaight up broken tho they have to not be working as intended at that point lmao.
Romina’s spike slams is actually one of the most well designed attacks in the game and actually doesn’t require perfect time as their is a visual and audio few for just before she is about the slam which is your queue to dodge( her stinger shines and there is a polishing/sharping metallic sound just before she slams), I believe she is top5 in the dlc for bosses, fair challenge aesthetically the best boss in the game and one of the best OST’s in the game
i still need to beat the final boss but i feel like its a fight that while it has issues in phase 2, i can probably come around to enjoying it if i learned it more, sort of like malenia where i liked her on my second playthrough. Now messmer, messmer is my boy. Messmer is probably in my top 3 fromsoft fights now. He's hard as nails, but i loved how by the time i beat him, i recognized a majority of his combos, conditional followups, and positioning to dodge. That and he's just so cool. Amazing fight
Ok bro, I get that the grab attack of the Golden Hippopotammus has a crazy hitbox, but at 2:38, you literally offered yourself to the hippo by jumping into its mouth😂
@Fusion237 dude i consistently doge his grab attack by running backwards and dogeing to the left right before he grabs me,his moveset is on of the easiest to learn and doge
@@Fusion237 usually itd take 2 dodges either left or right back to back but yeah all grab attacks seem to have this problem and they really gotta stop using them
I actually had a pretty good time fighting Putrescent Knight for some reason I figured dodging into it was the best way to avoid taking danage and get some hits in Incidentally i managed to avoid a lot of attacks because for some reason, if you're close to its horse (on the left side atleast) some attacks just dont hit you Personally I'd rank it above Radahn, idk i had fun with it lol
The thing with Jori is that phase 1 is totally fine, if it just stopped there all would've been well, but my god, phase 2 is SO annoying. Instead of summoning a whole swarm of enemies, I would've rather had Jori summon one of the big fat fellas, and just keep him summoned the rest of the fight.
Totally agree with Messmer being number 1. I think he might have eclipsed Slave Knight Gael as my all time favourite Souls boss. His attacks reward fearlessness and patience on the player’s part. They punish you hard for rolling away from them but if you roll into his attacks and stay patient there are almost always consistent openings to both heal and punish his combos. However, he is still very challenging thanks to his VERY high damage output, tremendous speed, and above average health. All other aspects of his fight are virtually flawless. His top quality voice acting, killer soundtrack, and bone chilling second phase cutscene all make him one of the most memorable bosses FromSoft has ever made in my opinion.
All this makes him number 2 for me but midras constant bombardment of chaos mixed with slow delayed and high paced mixups make him so much fun. Literally never had so much fun playing a game than fighting midra but messmer is a close 2nd
Radhan is super super tough, I had a hard time as I’m sure most people did, but I had fun with it once I changed my gear to suit the he fight. I’m usually a pretty un patient player so using shields isn’t really my thing, but this fight made me try out a great shield for the first time, plus multiple buffs (sacred oath, boiled crabs, defensive talismans) etc. it’s so effective you can even just block that AoE blast he does and the final phase missile impact slam thing (assuming you’re also far away enough) I’d really recommend this if anyone is struggling, being able to tank a lot more hits let me work out his moves and eventually how to dodge and get more punishes in. However, the particle effects are just over the top 😂 like seriously needed to put sunglasses on. If fromsoft could find a way to tone that down, it would be a better fight.
Yeah I agree, I think they need to tone down the amount of light beams in the second phase, appearing after every attack is a bit much. Other than that it’s a fun fight, my personal second favourite in the dlc after messmer.
Yeah even though I haven’t beat it yet I I can see how it could be a fun fight but then beams of light just kill the whole thing for me, LET ME SEE THE GODDAMN BOSS!
@@manofthewest5395 I don't think that's necessarily true. If you are running a bleed build and the boss is like REALLY resistant to bleed then you should probably change your build but that doesn't make the boss bad.
I finally beat Radhan last night and it literally took over 60 attempts but I didn't really feel like I mastered him but more that I just scraped cause I could barely tell what was going on with all that rave lighting. Amazing DLC anyway and this is a great list!
I just beat the dlc and I documented, how many tries I needed for every boss: Dancing Lion 1 Rellana 12 Messmer 110 Romina 3 Putrescent Knight 4 Metyr 1 Gaius 1 Scadutree Avatar 1 Midra 2 Bayle 14 Radahn 149 (I may have had too much scadutree blessings for some of them, that's why some numbers are so low)
I only ever changed a few aspects of my build for the Radahn fight. I was already a faith build, so I would take the opportunity after his nuke attack to cast a holy defense buff. I started out using a Heavy GUGS with Giant Hunt, but wound up switching to a Cold GUGS with Chilling Mist. The burst damage from the frostbite and my increased damage output afterwards really came in handy
Radahn is so hard to rate in difficulty because he actuay becomes a joke if you use a shield for some reason. Like more so than most bosses. Probably because hes all physical damage and the holy follow ups do very little damage to shields and stamina, especially with the clones literally being able to be blocked with light weapons with how little stance damage they dk
For me messmer is the best boss in elden ring. His move set is fair, his combos are cool, the weapon art he uses in the boss fight is good to dodge and the ost is good
This is my personal list (I feel positive towards all of these BTW) 11 Gaius 10 Metyr 9 PK 8 Romina 7 Scadatar 6 Rellana 5 Dancing Lion 4 Radahn 3 Midra 2 Messmer and Number one my favorite boss in all of gaming history BAYLE THE DREAD! (C##SE YOU BAYLE!)
My favorite boss in sote and my favorite boss of all time was promised consort radahn This fight is genuine cinema it took me around 22 hours to beat them and it was one of the best things I have experienced in gaming I was having fun from start to finish This is the hardest but best boss I have ever faced and I can’t wait to see f fromsoft tops it
@@soundywaivy lol that could play a part but tbh I have spent longer on blade beater and canoneer in code vein and those are up there for least favorite boss ever
The problem with radahn is they were so caught up with making “the hardest boss theyve made” that they didn’t stop to think about fun factor. The thing is if radahn wasnt in the DLC id say bayle has a good argument for being the hardest theyve made, but thats an optional boss. This is the final story boss and required to beat the DLC, which is just why? Radagon/Elden beast werent the hardest fight in base game but it still had malenia. If you give up beating bayle, you just dont beat bayle. If you dont beat radahn, you dont beat the dlc or conclude the story. Just make him the same difficulty as mesmer or rellana and have bayle as your fabled hardest boss and you’re golden Edit: alright i ran through with a second character i had ready for the dlc and in hindsight hes not that bad. Yeah hes hard af but the longer you go the less cheap it feels. Hopefully they turn down the brightness on the holy attacks to make it easier to see what he’s doing. I think thatll quell a lot of frustrations cause figuring out what attack hes doing during those moments are the most tedious parts to learn
@@jeaker2469 beat him with fire knights greatsword after about 4 hours. Look he gets more fun at the end but eventually it starts feeling like a job more than fun. And thats fine but FS has always put their “stupid hard” bosses in an optional area cause it messes up the flow of the story. Like watching a movie but the 3rd act is 2 hours long, eventually all the hype and buildup to the ending gets drawn out too much and the buildup starts dying out. I mean not to mention the ending kinda blows but so did the original so its not a big deal. Although id say bayle is just a bit harder and i had much more fun with it cause the build up is all to the boss itself, the lightning mountain and moby dick story and all.
I have to say i got a totally different experience from most cuz Rellana is my first boss fight (with lv3 blessing only) and Messmor is my 3rd boss fight (lv7 blessing only) And i fought them before patch too. That's why i feel those 2 dlc bosses are quite a bit harder than the rest (outside of Radahn) However, even with that in mind, i feel like dlc bosses are mostly fair and easy with spirit ash (no npc summon needed) cuz our dps output in this dlc is way too high bosses usually die in a couple of ash of war spam, so you only need spirit ash to buy you some time to get enough hit to kill them easily. (I'm in NG+ btw)
I thought the same about radahn's second phase but after a while of practicing it I realized that its not that bad and is probably my favorite fight in the game.
Yeah i figured out to Dodge to the left and not right and then i didnt got hit by any light beams. Only 1 attack is bs. The 3 slash right left Middle attack. OMG i hate this attack
man, messmer is up there as my 6th favorite souls boss only behind midir, ludwig, friede, isshin and gael. he really lived up to the hype, but the golden hippo i had to beat to get to him sucked tho
tutorial: how to make final boss funny scadutree lvl: over 16 weapon: heavy rusted anchor ash of war: cragblade talismans: greatshield, axe, two handed and +3 faith defence flask: more charged damage and more poise damage armour: your choise (if you’re confident in your dodges Rackchasa) body and aura buffs: GV and FGMS strategy: clap his ass with your anchor like Ahab and you’re done! hope this helps :)
Playing the Messmer quote repeatedly was the right choice, because I sure heard it a lot. It might be second only to what Lothric says in ds3 when you die.
I’ve fought all but 2 bosses so far(works been crazy busy) and I’ve died to Messmer the most (21 times) but by far my favorite boss, even started using his spear after I beat him, it melts NPC enemies
The thing with radahn is that the difficulty to badass ratio is even, as he is high on both ends. In every fromsoft game there is a boss that feels nearly impossible, and I’m glad that radahn is that boss for this dlc because it seems fitting for his character and how badass he is.
@@Wasssupp-GOTradahn is a fcking Monster and i love him so much. I got destroyed 12 hours but i enjoyed it so much. I figured out his attacks in Phase 2 and then it was sooo much fun
i crossed my fingers that we would get a true sss tier boss in the dlc. And messmer is 10000% that. amazing design, moveset, music and lore. He is perfect in every regard. I wish he had more HP and attacks, but that can be said about any of the bosses that ive mastered. My favorite boss/ enemy of any fiction along side the lightreaper from lotf
99% of the DLC was absolute 10/10 it's so unfortunate that last boss was so dogshit. Lasers should have been like Gael cape and add damage to his swing, not stunlock you into his combos and blind you even if you had perfect timing
You're just trash radhan is an amazing boss with a good move set il admit it took me a few hours just to beat him(NG +3) he is everything everyone asked for prime radhan and everyone calling him dogshit or bad are to shit at the game to beat him
I wouldn’t say dogshit I still found the fight really fun I just loved the spectacle and I still enjoyed the second phase despite some bs attacks. I think the real dogshit one is gaius fuck that boss it was not fun at all.
@@surjay5633yeah I think Gauis is definitely the “fuck you” boss but radahn is unfortunately a close second, if they could just remove some of the visual clutter I think I’d love it a lot more.
I would have given the DLC a 10/10 but I gotta knock it down to a 9/10 all because of this cheap boss. I mean...it's not even fun (for me at least). I'd rather just go to work and do my actual job than fight this again. Beating him felt like pure luck...
I loved golden hippo. He woke me up from my base game stupor and i stopped trying to cheese him after he wrecked me for the 10th time and i learned his moveset
Everytime you drink that flask i wanna share my crimsonseed+1 with you, chugging one usually fills the bar up full and when really low the most youll drink is two with that talisman. I strongly advise its usage.
Not meaning to be the "uh actually" comment, but i have to say that Radahn is way more manageable if you perfect block him. This new mechanic is really really strong and lets you fight bosses on different set of rules. I haven't tried blocking with a weapon yet (although I've seen someone blocking the whole Waterfowl Dance from Malenia with Milady), but medium, heavy and new thrusting shields can block all Radahn's attack completely (except the grab, obviously). In the end I've decided to go down that road and beat New Radahn almost entirely by Blocking and Guard Cancelling with only rolling those attacks I was comfortable rolling. It kinda felt like Isshin fight in Sekiro without Kuro's charm, but way easier. So for everyone saying that they made Sekiro bosses and made you fight them with Dark Souls mechanics - I may fight them Sekiro-style now!
2:51 I actually really enjoyed the hippo fight. I had to summon to beat Renalla so I didn’t want to for this fight and it took me a while and was difficult but I can appreciate the move set and difficulty of the fight. I use a dex build and it’s extremely difficult to poise break anything but I do benifit off of successive attacks and the hippo felt extremely fair even with some of the bs moves he has. I can appreciate a decent beast boss because it’s easy to tell when a humanoid boss fights better
Just one persons opinion, and maybe I’m glazing because he’s so cool, but I don’t agree with the statement that a lot of people are saying that Messmer doesn’t give the player many openings. I don’t think he’s too aggressive, a lot of his attacks have decent end lag and he also tends to wait and strafe after some attacks instead of just continuing aggro. I think he was incredibly difficult but fair and very very fun, I never got frustrated feeling like I had no opportunities or openings, every time I died it was because I simply got outplayed
I was expecting something more exagerated from Prime Randanh when I heard the complains, but when even people defending Elden Ring started to criticise him and said it was an awful experience, I knew that something was very, *very* fishy. So I came here to see the footage. Seems that the main issue comes from the attacks being nearly unpredictable and doesn't show you anything, which yeah, is bad, very bad. Lets see what Fromsoft is gonna do, what I would personally do is to greatly nerf the lighting follow ups and reducing the opacity of the lighting enough to see what is happening. So people were not wrong when they complained this felt like a mod...
This isn't prime radahn. It's radahn reanimated and charmed by Miquella. That's why he's wearing his outfit from before he even challenged the stars and why he barely uses gravity magic and instead uses mostly holy magic with miquella This isn't radahn himself, it's how miquella saw him. Now for attacks, it seems like his strings gets reslly janky on multiplayer play. For some reason he'll just cancel his combos into other stuf
@@oneofthekindscarf8612 Mmm, how "cancel combos" you mean having combos branches, that means that depends of your position it will change the combo extension? Or a stagger cancelling like Malenia? Or something different?
@JoseViktor4099 No like straight up sometimes in multiplayer, he'd cancel out of a combo he had to a completely different separate combo that normally wouldn't be an ender or a branch off
Honestly i think that if they just made it that the lasers dont stun you it would be fine. Honestly to me the lasers arent even that bad. Dodging to his left will always, and i mean ALWAYS put you away from the lasers. The only attack i struggle with is the damn triple slice when he slashes both swords individually then sends em both outwards. I genuinely cannot avoid it without slice 1 or 2 hitting me and if slice 1 hits then its gg. The only time this doesnt work is when he does light disc into slash as the laser will clip you but it does fuck all damage anyway
Am i crazy? Feel like im the only one who loved the Radahn fight. Other than getting blinded by how bright some of his attacks were in phase 2, I legit had no problems with the fight, All his attacks are dodgable, And his crazy aggression makes them that much more exhilarating to dodge, His fight actually reminds me ALOT of how Slave Knight Gael's fight felt when Ringed City came out, Funny enough people acted super disappointed in that fight too at first, Now he's regarded as arguably THE best Souls boss, I have a strong feeling that after awhile, Consort Radahn's fight will be held in high regards as well. Incredibly tough fight, But IMO its not unfair, It just demands near perfection, Which for me is absolutely fitting, The final boss in for the final expansion of the game, Forcing you to play like a god to defeat a literal god. I love it. Also, It's OST is far and away my favorite from all of Elden Ring, Incredible track & Only adds to the scale of such an epic final boss. Overall, Its between Consort Radahn & Midra as my favorite in the DLC. I LOVED the build up to Midra, The eerie atmosphere leading up to his fight, The wicked cutscene revealing the Lord Of Frenzied Flame, Aesthetically hands down the coolest in the game, And his moveset is actually very fair as well, Not too easy but not to difficult, I love everything about Midra.
Almost agree with everything but romina spike slam attack does not require good timing at all i beat her first try (with 17 hp left and rot) and only won because the timing is crazy forgiving just dodge as she begins to slam and she will always miss
You can do a 7000 damage hit on messmer if you use lionsclaw (normal one) after the first attack in his second phase because it hits him twice for some reason
Jori was a total joke to me. Rushed in with Bleed Backhand Blades, dodged 1-2 attacks and them dealt 30k+ damage in one go and killed him. Then my friend reached him 10 minutes later and absolutely raged at Jori, told me what stupid moves Jori was pulling - and I found it funny asf, can't lie
i beat radahn in like 10 hours and let me tell you after i started to recognize ALL OF its attacks the fight became actually VERY FUN, the fight for me was HELL for 5-6 fucking hours cuz i was using nagakiba two handed with unsheathe and i was encouraged to beat him that way but my L2's damage was like 1200 💀 and after some time my muscle memory came on clutch and i started to get to phase 2 with no hit constantly, and after realizing almost all of its attacks are from phase 1 with only little additions made the boss fight really fun cuz i was ABLE to perfectly DODGE THOSE FANCY ATTACKS, find openings and punish him which felt and LOOKED FUCKING AWESOME. of course not everyone would love that but after some really long time the pain u experiencing comes in clutch and makes the game fun and competitive and when u beat that boss that way, that satisfaction hits REALLY HARD. JUST FUCKING ENDURE IT, WORTH IT AND YOU WILL BE PROUD OF YOURSELF WHEN YOU BEAT IT THE HARD WAY.
i agree with you 100% , had the same experience, finished the fight with 11/13 flasks lol just learned all his moves and its really enjoyable fight imo
@raykeen100yearsago4 it's why I have a firm belief that if they remade bed of chaos and place it in elden ring and kept everything that she had the falling floors and the hand swipes you can't roll through or jump over but instead of being able to go straight for the weak spots you have to actually fight her with a moveset that only allows you to attack once after every combo and you have to do this 3 times, both for the weak spots and the center while she's sits on a total of 60k health and if you die no checkpoints you have to redo the whole fight that elden ring players would love it to bits and no one will change my mind That is the hill I will die on
I partially agree with the radahn take- he just takes a lot of time and practice to master his move set but once you learn how to dodge his light arrays then the fight becomes child’s play- you literally just stay on is left and dodge into him on his attacks- his second phase move set is exactly the same as his first asides from the moves he gains- the only one that’s innately differently is his gravity rocks which is fallowed up by his clones this can be avoided by dashing left or right after his rocks slam If your worried about taking too much damage then the simple solution is to wear varres mask equip a shied with 80 or higher poise- great shield talisman-dragon crest great shield talisman- pearl talisman +3 and blood lords exaltation(this can be replaced by the two headed turtle talisman for the stamina tengen) with the highest poise set minus headpiece you can get your grubby little hands on- just sit their and poke him behind the shield the whole time and you take relatively no damage/
Every attack Radahn does in phase 2 can be dodged, they are just unforgiving, so git gud, I beat him with no summons a zweihander lvl150 and 17 lvls in the dlc fragments Anyway, he is number 2 for me, Bayle is 3 and Messmer is 1 I loved this dlc, good video
I think radahn is gonna get better the more you face him because if you just role the correct way in phase two you won’t get hit. However the first time you fight him it is tedious dieing every time you roll the wrong way.
Radahns first phase was very enjoyable to me. The damage he does is just right, not too high to just oneshot, not too low to not be a threat. He forces you to be patient and bait out easily punishable moves, as some of his attacks are too risky to punish. I felt myself getting better and better every attempt, which is what i look for in a boss. Only thing I disliked is that sometimes he doesn't use the same opening move. 2nd phase is a complete shitshow. Pillars of light after every attack makes any move a near oneshot. His instant transmission moves can sometimes just stunlock you and you die. My complaint from earlier also stands, as he sometimes doesn't use the same opening move, which is even more of an annoyance considering how huge the AOE of that attack is. All the while we get perpetually flashbanged by light which makes it hard to see his next attack. 2nd phase completely ruins the experience and turns the boss into a trail and error slugfest. Even at full scadu blessing, I felt powerless because it doesnt matter how much health I have or how much damage I do if I'm running for my life.
@4:40 FACTS! This boss is not fun... The moment you step into boss room, 2nd time, he will be right there waiting then charge at you from the start and you barely can dodge through it. I did manage to actually roll through it but that window is small.
13: Hog rider 12: Elder inquisitor 11: hippo 10: scadutree avatar 9: putrescence knight 8: finger mother 7: bayle 6: lord of frenzied flame 5: romina Saint of the bud 4: divine lion 3: promised consort Radahn 2: Mesmer the impaler 1: rellana This is my list, feel free to critique in the comments. I’ll give explanations for each placement if you ask.
Okay if i sound a little rude here its cuz im fed up with everyone non stop complaining about the dlc with that out the way tho I fully agree with the hog bitch being last easily the worst fight ive ever had the displeasure of fighting i am curious as to why the avatar is that low did u fight it late cuz i beat it as my 4th boss after messmer and found it very fun putresecnt knigh should be bottom 3 along with finger mother cool atmopshere for finger mother but a really lacking and kinda annoying fight. Bayle being halfway hurts my souls i thought he was incredible i would change a few more placemets like messmer being 1 since hes now my all time fave from any game but not a terrible list my guy
I dont agree with some of the things you said about Radahn, i personally found him very fun, especially during the second phase which requires you something more than dodge in literally any direction, you cant fight him like any other boss because he requires you to position yourself carefully, his fight is the perfect example of learning and overcoming problems that you encounter during a boss fight. Miquella's light beams can be completely ignored if you stick close to radahn, they just miss, and the only way you can realise this is by trying other ways instead of sticking to your prefered methods of dodging an attack. None of his attacks are unavoidable, even the comet can be dodged, you even showed it during the gameplay that played in the background. I have never heard nor felt like during his fight you need to change your build, the boss even in his second phase had pretty big openings, its just a matter if you can dodge his attacks so you will be able to attack during these openings for longer. I do not see a problem with Radahn being accesible earlier, because the DLC is an open world with msot of the bosses being optional. I never had a problem with the lights being too bright and i am very surprised to hear that is a problem for a lot of players. The only bad thing about this fight for me, was the optimalization which honestly sucks on the second phase. I completely did not understand the argument about his fight being hard for the sake of being hard, so if anyone could explain that to me i would be thankful.
"Scadu" is old English for "shadow." It's pronounced "Shah - doo." But for the sake of simplicity, a lot of people just refer to "Scadu" as "shadow." Hope this helps for anyone confused by this funky word. 😅
I need more love for Scadutree Avatar, I’m assuming most people aren’t very impressed by him cus they found him late whereas he was my third rememberence boss 😭 but honestly it’s a class fight don’t overlook it
I beat all of these bosses solo and ended with a lvl 16 scadutree blessing. 1. Messmer 2. Radahn (I think hes balanced tbh. Just staying close basically negates the holy follow ups and they didnt blind me like at all) 3. Bayle 4. Midra 5. Divine beast Dancing Lion 6. Rellana 7. Commander Gaius 8. Putrescent knight 9. Romina Idk if i put the sunflower or meytr at 10 because meytr has awesome lore but she isnt good as a fight, while the sunflower is ok as a fight, but it has like no lore. This dlc was very good even though it humbled me 😔
Radahns triple hit combo is unironically undodgable unless you constantly rotate clockwise around his legs. The hair of Miquella is a bigger problem than the beams but they both cause problems being able to see his mechanics. He also tanks your fps. It's just a poorly designed fight.
@@shadysorkin9214 I fought him for 10 hours and i had none of those problems and what the issue with being forced to dodge a move a certain way am i missing smth here?
@shadysorkin9214 the triple hit combo just requires extremely tight timing, but there are ways around it. Watch ongbals vid to see how he did it. Miquella's hair wasn't a problem for me. Radahn is always facing you when he attacks, so his hair ain't really blocking anything important. And the fps is prolly an issue with your pc or something. My fps was fine
Radhan to me was a fair fight, even though it took me 9 hours to beat him I felt like it was fair, I had like a strength/dex build so by the second phase I was up close and personal with him, most of his phase one attacks transfers over with little to no difference, yes he does new moves but they are easy to avoid once you get the timing down and his nuke attack just run as far away from where he was and you be good! But I can see why people think he is not fair but everyone has their opinions I just wanted to voice my opinion on Radhan.
I think what should be nerfed is his triple cross attack, Miquella long hair obscuring the visual, and the holy magic brightness can be reduced a little bit
@@yup7380 definitely agree with the triple cross attack I could never get the timing down on that, I think the magic and brightness was fine but hey that’s just me.
i hate that youtubers and streamers say people are struggling because of their scadutree level. it feels like when companies pretend to understand what people are complaining about then give a garbage accomodation. when you have 19+ scadutree level with every defense talisman and dried liver and the boss is still unplayable in its 2nd phase, that's a problem. i hope they at least make radahn's 2nd phase more manageable. i get he's the final boss but oh my god it is the only fight in the entirety of elden ring i have needed a summon for btw i got spoiled for radahn looking up a dried liver cookbook location, bummer
Radahn are so "bottleneck of builds", i mean, it just forces you to change your build to get through him. I have done ng-ng+5 in a recent days, beating all the dlc bosses on my way again and again, testing tons of builds, and when other dlc bosses feel... unbalanced sometimes, Radahn just make you to spec into some lion's claw or ice spear/prayerful strike, because you just can't beat him on something like faith caster. Well, you CAN actually, but this would require unhealthy amount of time.
how the fuck can you so confidently say mesmer barely gives you time to attack?? he is literally the most forgiving boss in the entire dlc in regards to attack windows, i fully charged R2's multiple times throughout the fight
Radahn really marked an end for my interest in from software games, if they wanna make games where the bosses are unfairly hard without summoning people, then I’m no longer interested. Really sucks because just before this they released sekiro which was my favorite game of theirs.
If you position well during Messmer's fight he misses a lot of his stab like moves. You can use this to punish him mid combo's. You can even punish his jump with three Quick fire stabs. This makes Messmer in my opinion the best fight of Eldenring.
Messmer was also my favorite, it feels super satisfying to dodge his combos and he gives a lot of opportunities to damage him 👍
the thing about messmer is he extremely difficult, yet also very fair.
His movesets is very fair, all dodgeable,he has a lot of punish windows,no long combos, well telegraphed attacks,he is def in the top 10 best bosses FS has ever done,at least in my opinion

And yes, he is very hard but more in a frustrating way
Just say you’re dumb bro, you literally just have to roll to the side and stay close to him and his light beams won’t hit you, except for the big arena expanding one that you just have to roll through
His first phase should have been longer

Your telling me that the absolute hellstorm that is radahn: consort of miquella had a harder version?
Let me at 'em right now
It was mainly his quick cross slash combo. Basically if you got caught by either of the first two attacks, you’d be stuck in the whole combo. I think it made sense to change it, because the second slash of that combo is already obscenely hard to dodge
His most bs attack would level 3 hit stun and true combo you to death, basically making the fight impossible.
I'm glad you said Romina deserved a cutscene, definitely agree. Love Midra's rank, probably my favorite dlc fight. Great job.
Romona isn’t talked about enough
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but as far as the grape head winter lantern type enemies in the abyssal woods you CAN kill them. They can be parried! It takes pretty good timing but right before they grab you if you parry you can kill them very quickly! As soon as I found that out I took out every ounce of hatred I had on those bastards with the buckler shield
That’s how I killed them!

Incidentally i managed to avoid a lot of attacks because for some reason, if you're close to its horse (on the left side atleast) some attacks just dont hit you Personally I'd rank it above Radahn, idk i had fun with it lol
His top quality voice acting, killer soundtrack, and bone chilling second phase cutscene all make him one of the most memorable bosses FromSoft has ever made in my opinion.
agreed, def in the top 5 best bosses FS has ever made.
Very tough but fair, well telegraphed attacks, good punish windows, and no long combos, perfect boss

If you have to change your build to beat a boss, the boss is poorly designed.
@@manofthewest5395 I don't think that's necessarily true. If you are running a bleed build and the boss is like REALLY resistant to bleed then you should probably change your build but that doesn't make the boss bad.

I only ever changed a few aspects of my build for the Radahn fight. I was already a faith build, so I would take the opportunity after his nuke attack to cast a holy defense buff. The burst damage from the frostbite and my increased damage output afterwards really came in handy

Just make him the same difficulty as mesmer or rellana and have bayle as your fabled hardest boss and you’re golden
Edit: alright i ran through with a second character i had ready for the dlc and in hindsight hes not that bad. Yeah hes hard af but the longer you go the less cheap it feels. Hopefully they turn down the brightness on the holy attacks to make it easier to see what he’s doing.
I have to say i got a totally different experience from most cuz Rellana is my first boss fight (with lv3 blessing only) and Messmor is my 3rd boss fight (lv7 blessing only)
And i fought them before patch too.
That's why i feel those 2 dlc bosses are quite a bit harder than the rest (outside of Radahn)
However, even with that in mind, i feel like dlc bosses are mostly fair and easy with spirit ash (no npc summon needed) cuz our dps output in this dlc is way too high bosses usually die in a couple of ash of war spam, so you only need spirit ash to buy you some time to get enough hit to kill them easily. (I'm in NG+ btw)
I thought the same about radahn's second phase but after a while of practicing it I realized that its not that bad and is probably my favorite fight in the game.

5. Divine Beast Dancing Lion
I completely agree with your number 1 spot. Best boss in the entire game not just the dlc
That's why he's wearing his outfit from before he even challenged the stars and why he barely uses gravity magic and instead uses mostly holy magic with miquella
This isn't radahn himself, it's how miquella saw him.

Don’t forget his 3 hit combo that’s nearly unavoidable with the base roll light/medium.

@raykeen100yearsago4 it's why I have a firm belief that if they remade bed of chaos and place it in elden ring and kept everything that she had the falling floors and the hand swipes you can't roll through or jump over but instead of being able to go straight for the weak spots you have to actually fight her with a moveset that only allows you to attack once after every combo and you have to do this 3 times, both for the weak spots and the center while she's sits on a total of 60k health and if you die no checkpoints you have to redo the whole fight that elden ring players would love it to bits and no one will change my mind
That is the hill I will die on
I partially agree with the radahn take- he just takes a lot of time and practice to master his move set but once you learn how to dodge his light arrays then the fight becomes child’s play- you literally just stay on is left and dodge into him on his attacks- his second phase move set is exactly the same as his first asides from the moves he gains- the only one that’s innately differently is his gravity rocks which is fallowed up by his clones this can be avoided by dashing left or right after his rocks slam
If your worried about taking too much damage then the simple solution is to wear varres mask equip a shied with 80 or higher poise- great shield talisman-dragon crest great shield talisman- pearl talisman +3 and blood lords exaltation(this can be replaced by the two headed turtle talisman for the stamina tengen) with the highest poise set minus headpiece you can get your grubby little hands on- just sit their and poke him behind the shield the whole time and you take relatively no damage/
Every attack Radahn does in phase 2 can be dodged, they are just unforgiving, so git gud, I beat him with no summons a zweihander lvl150 and 17 lvls in the dlc fragments

Sunflower was amazing what do you mean. Dodging the 500 kg holy bomb was fun as hell and the boss/arena is beautyful.
I think radahn is gonna get better the more you face him because if you just role the correct way in phase two you won’t get hit. However the first time you fight him it is tedious dieing every time you roll the wrong way.
"Im not your dad" killed me hahaha, subscribed.
Divine Beast Dancing Lion is so fuckin cool. The music is amazing too.
Were you purposefully throwing vs radhan in this gameplay with the mimic? You tried tanking the meteor like 3 times without trying to run away lol
@4:40 FACTS! This boss is not fun... The moment you step into boss room, 2nd time, he will be right there waiting then charge at you from the start and you barely can dodge through it. I did manage to actually roll through it but that window is small.
You can parry the eye ball guys in the Abyssal Woods and then they start taking damage, fwiw.
Bro the scadutree avatar was so fun in my opinion and I was at sacudtree blessing 4
For me too especially dodging the slingshot move
I’ve staggered Rellana 2 times in the same fight with magic but she still killed me
13: Hog rider
12: Elder inquisitor
11: hippo
10: scadutree avatar
9: putrescence knight
8: finger mother
7: bayle
6: lord of frenzied flame
5: romina Saint of the bud
4: divine lion
3: promised consort Radahn
2: Mesmer the impaler
1: rellana
This is my list, feel free to critique in the comments.
I’d probably put Gaius at the very bottom but I agree for the most part.
I’ve raged on golden hippo more than any other boss in gaming history. I think that says how bad he is
"Scadu" is old English for "shadow." It's pronounced "Shah - doo." But for the sake of simplicity, a lot of people just refer to "Scadu" as "shadow." Hope this helps for anyone confused by this funky word. 😅
I need more love for Scadutree Avatar, I’m assuming most people aren’t very impressed by him cus they found him late whereas he was my third rememberence boss 😭 but honestly it’s a class fight don’t overlook it
I found him right as my 4th after messmer fucking brilliant fight for sure he is
I beat all of these bosses solo and ended with a lvl 16 scadutree blessing.
1. Messmer
2. Radahn (I think hes balanced tbh. Just staying close basically negates the holy follow ups and they didnt blind me like at all)
3. Bayle
4. Midra
5. Divine beast Dancing Lion
6. Rellana
7. Commander Gaius
8. Putrescent knight
9. Romina
Idk if i put the sunflower or meytr at 10 because meytr has awesome lore but she isnt good as a fight, while the sunflower is ok as a fight, but it has like no lore.
Gaius is the worst and it isn’t close
The more videos I watch about the DLC the more I realize that I was underleveled for everthing
Sees Jori's ranking:
Immidatly likes video
I personally loved both stages of the radhans fight but I get why people dislike the light beams my pc chugs a couple times during that
Notice how the top three are the only bosses who have decently telegraphed moves with plenty of openings
i hate that youtubers and streamers say people are struggling because of their scadutree level. it feels like when companies pretend to understand what people are complaining about then give a garbage accomodation. when you have 19+ scadutree level with every defense talisman and dried liver and the boss is still unplayable in its 2nd phase, that's a problem. i hope they at least make radahn's 2nd phase more manageable. i get he's the final boss but oh my god it is the only fight in the entirety of elden ring i have needed a summon for
btw i got spoiled for radahn looking up a dried liver cookbook location, bummer
The thing i hate the most on bosses is when u enter and u have no time to use your summon
9:20 watching you just stand and not even try to avoid the dive attack, while stating that he is too hard, had me face palming so hard🤦♂️
All bosses very very doable with no summons, the only ones that felt actually unfair were Renalla and Redan 2nd phase..
Yk when someone says this dlc is bad, they bad at the game lol.
Who said the dlc was bad it’s?
@@Arkade_k17 just a bunch of idiots.
Messmer number 1!!
Jori reminded me a little of the Deacons of the Deep fight from DS3.
I swear if you shave radahan's waifu's hair he wouldn't be half as difficult as he is now since you can actually see what's going on
I found out about the scadu tree boss after I killed Radahn and Miquellla
Me too
how the fuck can you so confidently say mesmer barely gives you time to attack?? he is literally the most forgiving boss in the entire dlc in regards to attack windows, i fully charged R2's multiple times throughout the fight
I think he is drunk
I absolutely HATED Midra when i was fighting him. He was, ironically, the only boss that made me mad
Im glad im not the only one who thinks messmer is amazing
The Learning process is kinda shity but once you learn the fight you forget everything shity about it
Pick up a shield you wont have to learn a damn thing
Radahn really marked an end for my interest in from software games, if they wanna make games where the bosses are unfairly hard without summoning people, then I’m no longer interested. Really sucks because just before this they released sekiro which was my favorite game of theirs.
Fuck it, we should’ve given him Two health bars for each phase.
For radahn
