I love my SPORTAGE GTLine S PHEV. I feel privileged to have got one as Kia aren’t even taking orders at the moment I believe. I get 108mpg out of it doing mainly local journeys. Anyone considering this car; its well worth the wait. I can’t think of any downsides to it. Best car I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned a lot). Thanks for the video as always!
No surprise here, that’s a really really nice car. I’m impressed with the quality of the interior and boot space is perfect if you’re in a hunt for a medium size family SUV. I like the exterior design too, I find it more appealing than the tuxon, which is built on the same platform I think. Also, good value for money on leasing deals with leaseloco. Good one mate 👍🏻
@Steve Wash. Quite right, 6 speed auto, but not exactly standard, as the difference with the Kia 6 speed auto is no torque converter, as the job of that is done by the electric motor.
Looks good Jim. I noticed the rear seats were quite reclined… not great for people like me with bad backs 🤔… Motorbikes and potholes… welcome to the UK 😂
You can adjust them actually which I should have mentioned. That guy was revving and shaking his head at the lights in order to try and intimidate them into changing - utter tool 😂😂😂
Considering all the Hybrid tech involved , I would have expected it to better 43 mpg, I get 40+ from my 1.8 Honda civic tourer auto without any trouble .
On my HEV Sportage front wheel drive version, I have an average of 50.2mpg after 4,500 miles, I also get 55mpg doing a 3hr return journey to Heathrow. B-roads & town trip I average 58mpg. It’s amazing.
The matrix LED headlights on auto in my Sportage are fantastic! I had two Outlander PHEVs before with amazing headlights so I was worried about that. This car is so clever as to how it moves pixels to avoid blinding oncoming traffic and cars in front. Not been flashed at once and I can clearly see everything as though it was daylight.
We have a mhev awd gt line S. It's thirsty pig and build quality isn't a patch on our 2021 Octavia vRS. Gearbox is a little childish in it's responses compared to the dsg in the Octavia. Wife still loves it though.
Great review. I’ve currently got a bmw 5 series on business lease which expires in august. I’m was looking at this (GT Line S) but the apple car play thing has put me off. I don’t want to have a wireless charging feature, but then have to plug the phone in for apple car play. Shame really as it ticks all the boxes.
The MHEV is extremely thirsty, especially when not on motorway. My long term mpg is only 27mpg and that includes some A roads and motorway (albeit mostly short journeys).

Great car 👍
Test drove one today , back to back with a Mercedes GLC . We will decided we will go with the Kia .
108 mpg? How is that possible? Does that mean using the elec power?

Cheers Matteo, it’s a great car that I’d be delighted to have in the drive on a longer term basis 👍
Nice review. Loved the comment on the Power Ranger . hehe🤘
😁thanks CT 👍
Great review...really enjoyed it
Thanks mate
Good Review, not duel clutch, six speed standard auto box I think.
You're right Steve
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru Mine has been on order since May so have watched every video multiple times Ha Ha. Again very good review.
@@stevewash5301 I know that feeling 😂

Yes good review I get RED GTS FHEV end June 24
👍👍👍
Great video as always.
Thanks Mike, much appreciated 👍👍👍

@@DefinitelyNotAGuru Hang on a minute, that sounds like something I would do 😁…I’m going to order my yellow Power Ranger suit now! 😝

I guess it's bigger and heavier and obviously has AWD.

Should of really had the top of the range rrp at £39999 to avoid the "luxury car tax" for next 5 year of ownership. Really put me off that has.
👌
Like your comments on the motor bike rider, lol.
He was being a bit of a nob in fairness 😊
Did you get chance to drive at night, I have heard that the Led headlights are not very good.
Yes, I did a long drive at night and didn’t have any issues with the lights to be fair 👍

Happy wife, happy life
How would you rate it against the PHEV Lexus you reviewed before?
It’s very good, the Lexus is better but also much more expensive.
I opted for the Kia based on the price difference. Just hoping it was worth the saving and I’ve not compromised on the refinement too much.
@@martinsomerfield7041 it’s a great car, don’t worry
你觉得自然吸气的2.0升hybrid版本高速表现会怎样,满载后超车会不会很吃力。燃油机只有150马力的功率,电动机和你驾驶的 一样,但只有双驱动,这是目前中国销售的唯一版本。
I think it would be ok
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru ok,thank you

You could always go for a lower trim level.
@@DefinitelyNotAGuru I could, but it just seems bizarre that they’ve taken the wireless apple care play feature away from the top spec model 🤷♂️
44 mpg isn’t brilliant for an electric motor supplemented engine. I can get 40 out of my 3 litre twin turbo C43 Merc….at a push.
I agree, it's about average for these hybrid SUV's but you expect more.
I have same problem with my Kia ceed gt Apple car is working with cable only. It’s big disappointment in my opinion.
It’s a simple thing but would be nice, especially when you have wireless charging.
Strange really as the lower spec Sportage has wireless Carplay and Android…🤔

I’d take the white myself 👍
